Hari nods, heading below deck to track down a room.
Once she does so, she doesn't fully unpack, just putting her bag under the bed and making sure her blades are secured for the start of the journey so they don't stab anything.
Sylvester looks around the ship for a place to bunk down away from the warforged in the party. “I don’t sleep much to be completely honest so I have no issue sharing a room, I really done even need a bed just a place to meditate for a few hours.”
The rooms they provide are fairly like the guild's dorms, not too big to be spacious nor too small to be considered clustered. There are two beds in the room with a chest before each one. A table to provide a workspace of sorts for the residents. And the somewhat odd addition to the room, straps onto the wall. It is like two harnesses but attached to the ship. Another oddity to the room is how most of the furniture is bolted down to the ship.
(While I'm not too sure on what the pairs are, I will need to know what each character will do when they see this.)
(So far my understanding of pairs:
Hari and Nasaar
Connor and Axon
Kastor and Sylvester
Last pair is assumed since Sylvester backed away from the warforged.)
Sylvester has no problem bunking with Kastor considering their previous mission. He will make small talk if Kastor wishes but otherwise will meditate for his required 4 hours, then sneak about the ship and see what mischief he can get in too
Kastor is happy to share with Sylvester. He'll put his pack on his bed and look around the room, giving furniture like the table an appraising look, knocking on the wooden tabletop to get a feel for the stability of its construction from the sound. He doesn't really know much about carpentry, so whatever the table sounds like, he'll give an approving nod, and then move on to the harness.
"When the captain said to buckle up, I presume that's what he meant. I have to admit, it's a bit strange, but better safe than sorry I guess." Kastor looks to strap himself in on the captain's recommendations.
As they enter the room Nasaar puts his gear into the chest then eyes the strange straps on the wall. "Captain did say to strap in..." He comments. Moving over he does so.
Hari blinks at the harnesses, poking hers curiously. "How does it work? It looks...almost like what the Kech would use to climb down chasms or out to the surface...but those were not attached to walls."
Sylvester responses to Kastor “Ya this is definitely exciting, they kept mentioning an elemental I hope I get to see it and what it’s used for. Well like you said better safe than sorry.” Sylvester buckles up in anticipation of launch.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Hari Con Save: 17
Rusty Con Save: 10
Axon Con Save: 6
Connor Con Save: 10
The ship starts to shake slightly, then more, and more unntil its hard to remain standing upright. Then the shaking quells for moment, only for a moment as the ship launches itself forward. It's hard to brace against as Axon, Connor and Rusty are knocked prone but Hari manages to keep her footing. Those that buckled up find it easier to stay standing but it was still a rough start with the shaking.
After a short while, the ship starts to slow down gradually to a good pace. There's a quick knock at the door then a shout, "We're back on the sea, safe to come out!" It goes quickly as the same happens to the others' room.
Nasaar unfastens the straps and grunts as he considers how likely he would have been tossed around if not for them. He then heads out to find the others.
Axon stands from being prone and looks to see if he has damaged anything in his tumble. "I should have used those straps" he said aloud to himself before gathering up his weapons an beckoning Shepherd to join him above deck.
"I've never travelled like this before. Strange sensations indeed, we strapped in just in time." Kastor releases himself from the harness and heads up on deck to join the others.
On the top deck, the crew go about their tasks, checking on their straps and like. Anvil is center of attention as he orders around the crew, having people double check their knots and to report on their inventory. Driftwood and Coral are on the upper part, sharing a telescope and talking to each other. Kierran is only one not there on the top deck.
A few of the crew ask if you all are alright, but they hurry to their next job before you can answer. You can see Sharn behind the ship, starting to become smaller as the ship puts more distance between you all. Still a sight to see the ever growing metropolis as it pierces the sky. As you approach the edge of the ship, you are hit by a spray of water. The front of the ship cutting into the sea so fast that its spray even reaches the upper decks. Although the ship's sail is catching air, it seems the ship is propelling itself as well.
No one is really watching you all, as you all were welcomed by the captain himself. It seems you all have free reign for the trip.
(You all can choose how to partake in your downtime, whether it be working with the crew or working on your own skills.)
Nasaar would see if any of the ship's crew are wizards and, if there is a ship wizard, try to learn some of the person's spells during his downtime. He would also spend the trip getting to know his companions, as he has not traveled with them prior to this.
Hari spends her time practicing with her horn and trying out some verses of her dirge, as well as getting to know her new traveling companions, including continuing to try to figure out exactly what the warforged are and talking to Nasaar to find out what role goblinoids have fallen into at this point in history.
She approaches Nasaar again at a point on the first day of travel when he isn't otherwise occupied, eyes glittering with curiosity. "Where on this continent are you from?" is her first question to the other hobgoblin.
Axon spends his time watching the crew members of the ship, he's never been on one before and his curiosity has peaked as to how it is ran. If he finds a place where he can be of service he will do so in order to be taught how the ship works, and how to handle it.
Sylvester will try to find what ever is propelling the ship and try to help in the “engine room.” Hoping to learn to be a grease monkey or help with the weapons system if there is one.
He will also try to get to know the other companions in the group while keeping a healthy distance between him and the warforged.
