After a bit of inquiring, you find out that ship has no wizard but both Coral and Kierran are magic users. Asking them, you find out that Coral is a Druid and Kierran is a Sorcerer. While Kierran isn't too keen on the idea of sharing magic, Coral is ecstatic to share. While her teaching is somewhat...unorthodox, it is interesting to hear how druids do their magic. To feel nature and to become one with nature, to not harness its power but to give direction to it.
Anvil welcomes all the help he can get. Before he sends you on tasks, he haves you shadow a few of the crew to see how to do things, mostly tie knots, work the anchor, and scaling the sails. You easily learn your way around the ship, knowing where the row boats are, how to secure the ship, and the layout of the ship.
You are now able to navigate the ship's decks at half movement instead of full
@Sylvester
Even as you enter the lowest deck, it is oddly quiet with the exception of the rushing sea. It's somewhat dark as you descend into the deck and at the last step of the stairs, you enter shallow water. While odd, you continue, going to the only source of light in the deck. The light being made from a ring embedded into the side of the ship, the inner circle made of glass, letting you view into the sea as it rushes by. As you peer about the ring, you notice that if any water comes into contact with the ring outside, it gets pushed back.
"Oh, got curious about the ship, huh?" Behind you is Kierran coming down the stairs. While he is surprised, it seems more casual than anything. "Most people do so I tend to find some crew or our passengers come down here. First time seeing a Khyber elemental ring?" He asks as he comes besides you, looking into the sea.
Nasaar enjoys his discussion with the druid, interested in their way of magic. He has her explain the ice knife backwards and forwards, until he can picture it in his own mind.
After gaining his footing, Rusty will begin to sweep the ship and learn what he can as this is his first time he can recall being on a ship. He will make a internal map of the ship for possible future use.
Reply to Kierran: “Is that what this thing is called? Its my first time on a ship to begin with, I’m from the planes. I was just curious as to how we are cutting through the water with barely any wind in the sails. Is the wet floor a result of this ring? How exactly does it work?”
After the reply Sylvester will offer his services to what ever job Kierran deems is best suited to his capitulated to help around the ship.
As the day passes by idly, there is an odd bit of how few crew were on the upper decks. The few that were there was armed, with swords and tridents as they looked cautiously about the sea. Driftwood even looked prepared for a fight as he holds a giant axe over his shoulder. Coral even has a staff with a conch at the end. They're obviously prepared for a fight even though the sea and weather seem calm.
"Both," she answers, "We're near shark kin territory so we have to be on guard. And when I say near, I do mean near. If we were in their territory, then we'd get swarmed by them. At this range, we mostly have to worry about raiding parties." Driftwood helps one of the crew onto the main mast, the sailor scaling up to the crow's nest."The captain is managing the below decks, now we just have to worry about boarders." She takes a post near the center of the ship, double checking her component bag. While Driftwood takes position up near the rear of the ship, tending to the steering wheel while keeping tabs on the ocean.
“Well then looks like I will be able to cause some mischief after all.” Sylvester will go to the opposite railing than Hari and keep a look out from his vantage point.
Axon takes up a position as close to center as possible, using his new knowledge of how he can move swiftly so that he can get anywhere on the ship in an equal amount of time. He then makes ready shepherd and his weapon.
(Hard to hide on the top deck when the sun is high.)
It is an eerie quiet as the ship goes on. With both the crew and party on high alert, barely a sound passes from them. The only thing that can be heard is the ship cutting through water. Then from the front of the ship is a thud, then another, and another. As the crew look out to the front of the ship, they see a few humanoids sinking below the surface of the water. Driftwood sends a few of them down the deck to check. Then as the ship keeps going, it suddenly stops, rocking both the crew and the party.

"Well the only way it works is with me since I'm dragonmarked and it works cause I tell it to work." Kierran gives a vague reply.

After a while you both learn the layout of the ship, helping with odd jobs and the like.

Sylvester will approach Coral noting the well armed crew. “We expecting a fight? Or is the crew just paranoid?”

When Nasaar learns of the possible raiding parties he would try to take up a position to help if/when such a raiding party arrives.
"Shark kin? Boarders and raiding parties? Are you talking about humanoids, or beasts? What are we most at risk from?"
