See this fellow? Lucky whispers to the doppelganger, keepin an eye on William. You killed his brother. You think we should protect you from him?
As William approaches, Lucky will hope the others intervene first, but if they don't he will block William from reaching the shapeshifter and start talking to him.
"We could tell them that you are just a lizardfolk... that agreed to help us out of the desert... That is if you help us. all the survivors from the crash would love to disassemble you." Jax would add as the man makes his way towards the group.
Tara frowns at the doppelganger. "Powers that be...ha," she says with a slight note of derision to her voice before she turns to William, her voice becoming serious. "We will happily explain everything, but perhaps we could at least walk back to the ship before doing so? It was an exhausting and draining trip." Weariness threads itself through her voice.
"I say just kill him and be done with it." saralyssa says with a shrug. "If he won't talk, then he is more dangerous to keep around than not. Only real value he has for us is information, and, if he is not willing to give that, then there is no value in keeping him." She glances towards the shifter with a frown. "Frankly I doubt if the shifter knows anything of use, probably just got orders from some unknown person and whatnot. Just be done with him."
"If he stole schamatics.. he may still have them on his person. You should search him. It would be a shame to ruin them with his blood." Jax would add.
Lucky frowns at Saralyssa's words. Now I'm not one to rush to offense over an ill-chosen word here or there, but the 'shifter', meaning me, knows quite a lot of interesting things including ballads from all the nations and correct use of the semi-colon in writing. I'm also not too shabby with a rapier in underground hellholes, as it turns out. Just want to be absolutely clear, now that the conversation has turned to blood and killings and so on, that it is the doppelganger to whom you are all referring? His tone is light, but the last question is definitely directed at Saralyssa.
"Shifters are humanoids with an aspect of the beast, one they may draw on to transform. Changelings are humanoids with the ability to alter their appearance to an impressive degree, but only that. Doppelgangers are the result of daelkyr experimentation on changelings, with minor thought reading abilities," Tara provides helpfully, and also somewhat distractedly.
William charges forward “I’ll kill the bastard myself!” As grabs the Lizardfolk by the collar and swings him down to his knees so he is eye level with the dwarf. “You better explain yourself.... we can make this much slower than it has to be!” At this point William makes a fist with his thumb barely pointed outward and begins to apply pressure on the corner of his eye.
Still not wholly losing his demeanor at this point the Shapshifter continues. “Why don’t we come to terms to how you will get this information. You want the journal back? You want to know who is behind it? I will tell you where to find the information and where I hid the journal once I am let go. I’ll even throw in a present of good faith, how does that sound? Check my right chest pocket.” He says calmly
Saralyssa pulls out a palm sized Khyber crystal that the Shapeshifter was able to steal away before he was caught. It’s smooth and round shaped like a disc. “That’ll catch the eye and ear of the parties that be, give cause to listen.... or at least come after you.”
Lucky takes a good long look at the strange crystal, remembering the one in the cavern that seemed to teleport Squall (or at least that's what he believes happened). What... that... what is that? Why would anyone care about that?
Jax would stand behind the lizardfolk, still pointing his arm blade and revolver towards the creature. "We are not required uncover your motives... We do not require the items you have hidden. We do not require information on those that hired you." The warforged would say coldly.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Moxely will just stand near the gathering keeping a watch on anything and paying particular attention to what the shape changer is doing with its hands.

"I agree with Saralyssa," Moxely chimes in, "If he is not going to be of any use and is providing no information, kill him."

"Clearly." Saralyssa says with a annoyed flick of her red braid.
Lucky winks at the gnome, and walks on.

Saralyssa scampers off of Moxley's shoulder and moves over, pulling whatever is in the pocket out.

"Exactly, what good is it?" Saralyssa asks as she looks it over.

Tara looks very interested in the crystal, but keeps quiet, examining it from a distance.

Lucky shakes his head and backs off, feeling utterly exhausted and slightly light-headed. Man, I'm too tired for this, he mutters quietly.
