The Specter takes 2 damage, and you now learn that the Specter has resistance to fire (among other things...). Resistance of course halving the damage.
The Specter of the nursemaid now starts to laugh in a high pitched manner.
...and then also swings her arm directly at Flynt's head as he seemed to be the larger of the two targets who have disturbed her. Attack: 11 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
... and JUST barely misses. You see, without the protection of his shield which he is used to, Flynt felt off balance and evades the Specter's lifeless arm by mere inches. He still has his torch in his hand... luckily.
The Specter is now shrieking loudly in the same high pitch. She is PISSED.
Ignatia - you make the trace of holy water in the next moment right when Flynt dodges the Specter's arm. Flynt now has Protection from Evil and Good activated!

Shae steps back, but immediately launches into an offensive strike, whipping her staff upward toward the chin of the spectre, and then spinning into a low kick.
Renny looks through the door at the others, noting Flynt .. she takes out a dagger and cast light on it. She steps back into the room and jams the dagger into the wall by the door, which should very much help illuminate the room and free Flynt up to use his shield. She'll slip back out again, but watching around the edge of the door.

You would've all still uncovered from this that the Specter is resistant to fire, and likely other things given it's partially opaque body. And also how Renny's fire bolt didn't explode like it normally does.
Shae, your first upward strike with the staff cracks the Specter directly where you were aiming... the chin. It's weird because the Specter is partially opaque, so the staff doesn't connect like normal to a solid surface... more like a firm but movable surface. It cracks it nevertheless and the Specter's head tilts up as she lets out a shriek. The second kick actually passes right through the Specter, seemingly doing nothing. (3 damage taken, Specter is resistant to Bludgeoning damage).
Flynt, immediately after Shae's kick passes through the Specter's body, you attempt to bring down your longsword on to the Specter's head. You are still off balance with the torch in hand, so the blade doesn't hit the Specter at all and you quite possibly curse after missing.
Renny, you do exactly what you've described with the light spell and the dagger (very cool). You are correct in saying that this room is now lit up big time. Given the 5ft block map and the spell goes 40 feet... it's now super bright in the room. (thanks for ruining the scary ambiance hahaha!). You take your spot back out in the hallway and watch on.
The Specter now continues to attack Flynt. It raises its arm like before and tries to basically smother Flynt with its arms... giving Flynt a Specter-hug. (disadvantage due to Ignatia's spell)

You raise up your long sword and bring it down on to the Specter, and it makes an odd sound as it passes through the half opaque Specter form. It hits on her clavicle and passes diagonally through her body coming out near her hip. You see the Specter writhe in pain as the blade passes through her body and she shrieks again loudly although seems resistant to this type of attack as well. (4 damage)
Ignatia, you cast your illusion spell once more and the sound of a baby crying emerges, just like you've described. Please roll a Persuasion check, with advantage. The reason for the advantage has not been uncovered yet in the game... although I think you might be on to it.

You can see that she is visibly affected by this and becomes extremely frantic... much more so than she already is. The shrieking is almost unbearable as she is now ruffling around in the trunk, getting all caught up in the old bloody sheet, trying so hard to find the crying baby that doesn't exist. She looks like the Tazmanian Devil from Looney Tunes (Taz) but in half specter half zombie form, just a spinning mess. (this will technically take effect on the specters next turn, but it's all happening now. You will roll the same way as your earlier illusion of the Spectator, each turn. With advantage each time. The illusion will last for 3 rnds. The 20 roll is for the first round)

(So the advantage was originally just meant for Ignatia's Persuasion roll each time to not have the Specter attack the party, but you make a good point in that the Specter will also be completely distracted and not see attacks coming, so yes, please for everyone going forward, please make any attack rolls with advantage)

The Specter frantically continues to look for the baby in the trunk and she's also starting to cry. (she does not attack anyone this round. This is the result of Ignatia's first roll of 20 persuasion)
Ignatia, your silver coin flies just past the crouched Specter, bounces of the far wall and clinks on to the ground. Your 16 persuasion roll (success) will be for the next Specter round, if she makes it.... She will not be attacking anyone again due to that 16, and will continue to look for the baby.
