"Oh dear," Deshi says softly. They recall Osskil to them, causing the bird to vanish from the skies and reappear at their side (I can do that, right?). The tortle then slips behind the shop, allowing Osskil to peer in through the windows of the restaurant from atop a building across the street. Deshi closes their eyes and instead sees through Osskil's.

Roland scoffs at Ormond. "You shut your face. If I can pipe it down a match and let the so called "star of the show" have some glory, I can walk out of an eatery without drawing the attention of a gang of lawmen." Roland scarfs down the rest of his lunch and beer before nonchalantly walking out of the room. 

 As Roland is making his way, the deputy sheriff turns slightly, he arches an eyebrow, “Pardon me, son, you got a moment?” He waves a hand for Roland to step over.

Ormond curses to himself. He waves over the waitress and lays out on the table the cost of lunch. As he's doing so he begins whispering feverishly under his breath. Upon finishing up the incantation harmless tremors are felt moving through the ground of the restaurant.

He then feigns bracing himself at the table, as he waits to see how the rest of the restaurant reacts. 

There is a momentary pause in time as these tremors are perceived as the mere rumbling of an off schedule train. I’ll say it provides Roland with enough time to do one action.

Roland turns keeps on walking.  As soon as he reaches the door he bolts down the street, trying to get away. "F*** YOU COP BASTARDS!" 

The deputy sheriff blinks, he turns to one of his men, “I’ll be just a moment, gentlemen. Pardon me.”

He matter of factly stands up, wipes his mouth with a napkin, and walks out the door, toward Roland’s direction.

Ormond casts thaumaturgy as the Sheriff makes his way out, causing the window next to the remaining lawmen to suddenly swing open. He follows the Sheriff out as the crash of the window sounds hoping that no one notices him doing so.

Ormond too slides out the door. He can see that the deputy sheriff is slowly making his way toward Roland.

He jogs to catch up and move past him, attempting to get to Roland before the Sheriff. 

You may do so. However, he’s still following.

Ormond pushes Roland from behind, shouting, "Oy! Why'd you stick me with the bill! And I don't appreciate you flipping me off!" 

Over his shoulder, Ormond yells to the sheriff, "I got this, sir... Just gotta show my 'friend' he can't be disrespecting me just cause I'm on leave!"

Ormond dusts off his fists as of he's ready to give Roland a "lesson in manners."

Roland looks Ormond dead in the eyes and raises his own fists. "Fisticuffs? Such a gentlemanly and boring way to do stuff." 

The deputy sheriff slows his pace and stops. Yet, he crosses his arms, “You a militiaman, son? Go on. Get your licks in.”

Ormond charges at Roland, rather than bothering with a punch, he places his hands on the collar of Roland's scale mail, pivots, turns and uses his momentum to outright throw Roland into a nearby alley.

He yells as he charges after him, "Come back here! We still got more talking to do."

If the deputy sheriff makes a move to come closer, Ormond, figuring the jig is up, will cast sleep on him. Otherwise, he picks up Roland by the scruff of his armor, lifts him and pushes him towards a hasty escape.

The deputy sheriff follows, despite not being fully suspicious of you, he still is making sure that no body kills anyone. So he’s just leaning far enough away to keep an eye on you.

However, as Ormond casts sleep on the man, his posture locks up, “I knew I saw you two before.” He rolls his neck, “Though frankly I don’t know how you got here unscathed.”

He steps forward and shakes his gloved hands loose, “Ormond Sacker, deserter, and Roland Wolfscribe, the Thunder Hippo. You two are wanted men, though neither of you struck me as the cooperative types.”

With that, he’s dashing toward you both!

Deshi cocks an eye and angles the decanter of endless water skyward. They then release mutter the command word to create a geyser at a 45d angle, causing a tremendous spray of water to drench the deputy and the street around him as though the tiniest, heaviest raincloud  has passed overhead.

(Penny runs toward where she last saw Osskil, but stealthily.)

The water spray is enough to momentarily distract the DS by forcing him to close his eyes momentarily! Roland and Ormond have been bought a moment!

Roland stumbles into the back alley as Ormond tosses him by the collar. "HEY! Watch the cape, deserter!" Roland pulls out his glaive and runs towards Ormond, but continues past his faux opponent. When he reaches the sheriff he throws the pole of his glaive over their neck and starts choking him out while pulling him into the alley.

Roland manages to hook the glaive into a makeshift submission maneuver!

The man raises an eyebrow, “They weren’t kidding, you really are the strongman they claimed.”

The man rears his head forward, Attack: 22 Damage: 8 bludgeoning damage. However, as he tries to slam it back, Roland manages to move his head out of the way.

However, he swings his head to the side, Attack: 15 Damage: 11 bludgeoning damage. And... yet... Roland moves again.

The sheriff pauses, “Well. Surprise, surprise.”
