This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gara looks at the injured Naz'tog and then at the confused Bulpo: " Bulpo i know you don't trust him, but trust me, can you make sure Naztog is safe please."
Then i trow my Magic stone at Hegar before creating another (1*)new one.
Hegar moves (disengages, but he's not in contact with anyone right now anyway) and moves out of sight behind his shop counter. You hear a roar and growl from there shortly after.
Bulpo is still very confused, but he moves towards Naz'tog and pull out some medical herbs from his pouch.
Going behind the counter, you see a foor legged monstrocity, finishing its transformation, still bearing some fleeting resemblance to the goblin trader. The creature roars at you with both bestial fury and a feeling of cunning malevolence. A massive scar, as if from a burn, goes across the beast's left side.
The overall shape of the creature seems vagueley familiar to you, as if previosly described a long time ago. Make a history check with advantage.
You quickly recognise the creature as nightmarish stories have been told about it among all goblinoid races. A transforming shapechanger, hiding in plain sight as a lowly goblin; both physically powerful, but also intelligent, and with innate magic to manipulate his unsuspecting victims; an abyssal hunter who devours souls, there is no doubt that in front of you is a barghest.
Serit shrinks back at the sight momentarily, the stories and takes of such things amongst his kind initially driving his response. He quickly recovers however, "You show your true self now fiend. Praying on these goblins, shame on you. Now you face your end, how do you wish to go?" He swings his flail lightly, his confident facade on the edge.
The barghest hides behind cover, from the counter but is still hit.
Gara, once inside, you can smell the soporific in the air. It does affect you yet, but if you end end your next turn inside, you will need to take a constitution check.
You resist the soporific with no effect on you for now.
You are however overcome with the feeling that fighting isn't necessary and you could talk things out and negotiate with the barghest. After all, how bad could it be?

Serit is up.
Serit quickly casts Blade Ward and turns to Gara, "Do what you can for Naz'tog then follow. I will do what I can to hold it down."
He then moves to the shop counter to see where the thing had gone too.

Serit History: 19
The barghest laughs:
"Foolish bugbear, you are the facing your end, now that I am in this form. Do not worry, your soul will do nicely too...",
followed by a voice in your head,
"which is why I manipulated you to suspect Naz'tog"
The barghest speaks again.
"I admit you are tougher than expected, but that just makes your soul more valuable to me"
Seeing that Bulpo is doing as he was told, Gara leaves Naztog in the Goblins care and follows Serit.
He won't bother with the conversation. Upon seeing the nightmareish creature Gara will create another magic stone and throw it at the creature.
Attack: 16 for 5 magic bludgeoning damage
Attack: [roll]3d20dl2+6[/roll] Damage: [roll](if([roll:-1:critical], =0, 1d8, 2{1d8}.expand()))+4[/roll] Sneakattack: [roll](if([roll:-2:critical], =0, 2d6, 2{2d6}.expand()))[/roll]The barghest hides behind cover, from the counter but is still hit.

Barghest lunges at Serit: Attack: 21 Damage: 7
Serit staggers back and swings his flail around in a side arc.
Flail Attack: 16 Damage: 12
The attack bouces off the creature's tough hide.
Gara is up.
Gara choughts a little and creates another magic stone that he throws at the monster
Attack: 24 Damage: 10
before he leaves the room for some fresh air.
Attack: [roll]3d20dl2+6[/roll] Damage: [roll](if([roll:-1:critical], =0, 1d8, 2{1d8}.expand()))+4[/roll] Sneakattack: [roll](if([roll:-2:critical], =0, 2d6, 2{2d6}.expand()))[/roll]The Barghest continues his assault on Serit, looking quite injured at this point.
Attack: 25 Damage: 11
Serit is next.
(Wanted to point out that the first 7 damage was reduced to 3 by Blade Ward)
Serit reels back, his eyes wide at the deep laceration. Blood flowing from his wound, soaking his fur, he roars and swings again.
Flail Attack: 16 Damage: 9
(yes, blade ward reduced damage of the previous attack)
Serit's attack narrowly bounces off again.
Gara is up.
Gara takes a deep breath before geting into the room again for another Magic Stone attack:
Attack: 8 Damage: 7
Attack: [roll]3d20dl2+6[/roll] Damage: [roll](if([roll:-1:critical], =0, 1d8, 2{1d8}.expand()))+4[/roll] Sneakattack: [roll](if([roll:-2:critical], =0, 2d6, 2{2d6}.expand()))[/roll]Despite the cover from the shop counter, the attack hits yet again.
A breath of fresh air helps, but not enough to completely negate the soporific. Make a CON check with advantage.
The Barghest, now looking seriously battered, shouts to Gara "Hey, there's no need for us to fight like this. Why don't we talk this out?".
Make a WIS save.
Con Check: 10 +2 if it is a save
Wis save:9
Looks like you‘re on yourown now Serit 😱
