Albanus peers to where Manfred is talking and asks, “Princess, Master Treepond; might we speak with you in a more visual format?” Albanus goes on, “We see the desecration of your environment and it saddens us. They have also been terrorizing others. What can you tell us of their capabilities? Their location?” Persuasion: 17
The pixie flutters towards you and responds to your questions. We know they use magic. Their leader appears to be some sort of magic user, shes the one responsible for poisoning this area. Even the poor fish have been poisoned from their magic. We have done what we can but we do not wish for conflict, though it seems the only thing these creatures understand. They make their camp at the center of the wood, beneath the ground, they do not like sunlight it would appear.
Upon hearing the stiff and troubles, and seeing that her cohorts have the conversation well in hand. Ashtear wants to renew her examination of the "poisoning of the woods" to see if she can gather a better idea of how it was caused and if it can be cured or safeguarded against-for the plants and possibly us
(I'm just gong with another Alch roll out of habit/specialty. But if you prefer a different tool or skill check let me know)
11 +4 from Armour of Tools. +3 profiency. And then + 4 for INT OR +2 for Dex. Or +2 for Wis, Whichever you want. 8 add +5 if Survival roll, or +4 for Nature. This is to give herself context on the natural state of the forest
(So 22 on the first and 13 on the second)
You take some time and really analyze the area around you. Taking a small vial from one of your pouches, you slowly pour it into the murky water and begin your analysis. After a few you realize that this is a pretty common type of poison, so creating an antidote for you and the others probably wouldnt be too difficult, though it might take awhile. As far as getting rid of it, you know you'll have to dispose of the source where ever that is.
[b]"Well.. I mean we knew it was coming really. But .. Yep.. This is poison. With enough supplies and time I could work something for helping us. but with this much and this much in the area, we'll have to findi the source to help the area. Honestly I wonder if its being created by someone, or if they have some creatures that they milk or something. Won't be fun. "
The two Pixies agree and show you through the wood. The features of the landscape quickly turning more and more bogish, though thanks to your fey companions, you remain more or less dry.
After a little while they abruptly stop and point you ahead. Apparently they find this area quite dangerous and are rather insistant on remaining here until you all arrive.
Moving ahead youre just able to make out a small hole in the earth, making a sort of natural cave from the vegetation growing above and the roots carving their way through the ground. Youre not sure how far down it goes, but there is quite the unpleasant smell coming from mouth of the cave.
Survivor will move to the front of the group and check the ground outside to try and get an idea of what might be inside from the tracks. After he finds out what he can and shares it with the group, "If someone can make a little light for me (disregard if it is lit inside), I'll take the lead, unless one of you would prefer to?"
Ashtear pulls out 4 ball bearings, spritzing them with a light mist from a vial, and blowing on them, creating small light, that she tosses into the hole-attempting to have them land in differing spots, and then pulls out 3 torches from her back, but wait to light them, and holds them out in case anyone wants one. "Start with soft light, then we could throw a torch in there." (Unnless someone objects to throwing in the GlowBB, in which cause she would pause) Each GlowBB sheds bright light in a 5-foot radius and dim light for an additional 5 feet.

"Don't be too hasty now..." Dain says as he moves up to the edge with Survivor. He glances around, trying to figure out what the horrible stench is. He wuld send his fmailiar in to scout the path ahead a bit. The familiar can detect invisible things within 30 feet.

Albanus offers her sincere thanks to the pixies, mentioning “Wish us luck. We’ll be back after we expunge whatever they are.” She will aim to be middle-back in the order (single file I suppose?) examine the walls and collecting some moss and anything else that looks interesting. Perception 6

Looking around to get a better sense of what you might be dealing with, you first pick up on several sets of humanoid footprints. As well as quite a few more mosterous looking ones, with extremely animal like clawed feet.

You see that theres more than a few areas that could possibly serve as easy enough areas to trap a person if one was so inclined, and as your familiar descends into the hole, and gazing through its eyes, you catch something moving further ahead in the tunnel. Though it seemed incredibly hard to see, not from the darkness, but from the way it almost seemed to camoflouge itself, the only way you were able to see it was because its skin was turning from black and grey to green and brown as it slithered past a bit of vegetation and mushrooms growing underground.

As you examine the walls, you realize that theres quite a bit of sticky webbing running the entire length of the cave. You realize that it is alot more sticky than you would think, and even just running your fingers against it causes you to have to jerk your hand away before it becomes even more stuck.
“Be careful of the walls - the webs are sticky,” Albanus says to the group. She will keep an eye on the ceilings, looking for cracks and spidery-type things.
Survivor straightens back up after examining the ground, "It seems more than just humans are in here, and with the webbing, surprise might not be a good option. Any objections to throwing in a torch and seeing what burns and what comes out?"
When we enter. Ashtear will take up the rear. "Well.. it probably would know we're coming regardless of what we try. We could burn things on the way. Although that would remove any option of a civil meeting-although regardless we're entering something else's claimed territory." As well as stating that, she'll offer out torches if anyone wants them, with an alternative of applying her Light Spray to people's equipments if they need light.
(Basically the ball bearing lights I made before, I can do that to non magical items. Soo if someone wants a permi small light, let Ashtear know, she could light up a wrist band, or hand out ball bearing lights, etc)
Aura decides to take one of the bright ball bearings after seeing them being offered. She already had a hand free since the only thing she carried was her staff. "Thanks... And, huh, about the burning the webs thing, you need my opinion about it? I don't know, why exactly would we be doing that? Just to see what's underneath? When we could more easily not do it and not have to deal with whatever's there? I mean, not that I'm against it... I just didn't see the point in it."
"I was under the impression this was the most liikely source of this toxic muck.. which in term is likely related to those we're hunting? Unless I've understood things wrong. We came looking for those, and the little Faerie's state newcomers caused the blight-and that this is an area of strong blight origin.. no? Or Did I mishear while working on my alchemy-I do get absorbed in it. "
Survivor continues to stare inside, “My intent was to clear it out so we would not be stuck for one. Also, we need to fight whatever is in here and I’d rather do it out here than in there.”

"One moment then..." Dain says with a shrug. "Back away from the hole if you don't want to get singed..." He then summons his familiar back to his side, then he raises his staff. A mote of flame races from the end of the staff deep into the tunnel ahead. He would make sure it is far enough away that the group doesn't get hit by the blast, but also make sure it hits the webs and such further inside. If possible he would aim for the creature his familiar spotted, but that is not required.
Dain continues to keep watch on the surrounding area via his familiar.
