Hurry! They are about to activate the machine! I dont think I'll be able to resist them if they turn it on! Also the baroness..
“We could message him again, if everyone agrees,” Albanus suggests. “But we should message Leon. That would be all the uses for today...” Albanus waits for opinions.
"I suppose the machine Johan is talking about is whatever thing Janice and her sisters got the Gnomes to work on -- it sounds as though it is some way to amplify their err....unnatural charms."
Manfred strokes his beard thoughtfully. "And this Baroness...I've not heard about her before. We have a lot of ground to cover in a very limited amount of time between the gnomes and the machine, this Baroness, and the magistrate. I say we message him again -- chances are any aid Leon can muster would be too late regardless. Then we need to decide what we are going to focus on, as we can only probably choose one before their deadline.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Vulgrom remains silent as they walk. His thoughts are on how to crush the demons with the weight of the mountains, his prayers are with the innocents, especially the young family, who have been caught up in the this horrific web. It isn't long before his thoughts wander to his own children; screaming, running around the chairs just as he settled for a puzzle and some mead. Them now, with their own children, failed promises to see them over the holidays... lest he forget, his wife...
A grumble and wipe of the nose, he snaps back. The dwarf knows he will be caught with the plan. In this part, he will keep a look out to see what awaits them as they return to the town...

Albanus nods at Dain and Manfred, "He was at 25 words, maybe he could be more economical this time? At least we know he's alive now." Thinking out loud, Albanus says, "I know this is a long shot, but could we fashion some sort of nose and mouth covering that might keep us out of the way of this gas charm?" Albanus holds out the book to any who desire to try their hand with a message...

(Keeping an eye out, nothing really stands out to you. There's the town far off in the distance, but nothing lools amiss or out of place.)
Manfred looks at the book for a moment, bites his lip and starts to walk ahead. He is becomes more and more clearly agitated the closer they get to town. "I should not touch that book."
"Let's be heading back ta da tavern." Dain suggests as they get closer to town. "Need ta see if da guild lad had anything sent there, or if it twas only da magic thing we already found there."
Ashtear will stuf the book back into her pack, and keep it tied down and closed for now. "Hotel check, then we check her home. Then perhaps magistrate. Hopefully.. we can find someone safe for the child to stay with. Battle isn't great choice. While we work on stopping them and rescuing."
As you all get closer to the town, again nothing looks out of place or unusual at this moment. Most of the farmers and vendors are out on the street attempting to sell basic household items or food. There's several of the guatds walking about as well, but they dont give you all any second glances.
The tavern is just ahead of you all, beyomdnthat amd around the corner is Janices house, and just beyond that is the keep. Also the blacksmiths shop is up and running now and theres a few dwarves and gnomes standing out front discussing some things.
You guys have about 2 hours before the succubi have said they will turn the town against itself. Theres no sign of them out and about on the street, and it seems they didnt report you or anything as the guards seem less than interested in your arrival. Winter looks expectantly at the keep and asks so if you guys are goin to do all that, should I come with you? The inn owner Tom is really nice, I dont think he would mind me staying with him for now.
Albanus is a bit taken aback by the fact that Winter and Tom are acquainted, though it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise - Riverton is no metropolis. “Yes, that might be a splendid idea Winter. Do you know Tom and his brother well?” Quieter, Albanus adds, “Winter, you know what these women can do right? They can magic someone in order to make them do things. Little one, please do us a favor: don’t trust anyone. And if you’re not sure of someone, give them a kick or a pinch or a slap. I know it sounds silly but...”.
Albanus trails off as he spies the gnomes. He will head to the blacksmith’s shop and ask the gnomes if they know of any recent commissions that they or their gnome friends have received from the comely lass at the inn. Machines or contraptions - things like that.
Dain heads to the tavern to check in with the owner there. "Our friend from da guild had something sent here, do ye happen to know what that was or where it is now?"
Vulgrom joins Alabanus, keen to so how far the abomination's influence goes... But also, a selfish part of him to see if the smithy here has anyone blessed in Moradin's eye.
Manfred will join Dain at the inn, knowing that the people drinking at the tavern would be the best source of scuttlebutt about the goings-on in Riverton. As they are approaching the inn, Winter behind them, Manfred will whisper to Dain "Best not to let me see where you place the child. I know that our fellows, especially Albanus and Ashtear, have taken an interest in her. Those creatures can and will exploit that. I just wish Ashtear had made more of that supposed antidote. It would make me feel a bit less anxious to know I'm not likely to turn against you lot in the next two hours."
Manfred then assumes a charming, cheery bluster and starts buying drinks for the locals, slipping in references to his own noble family in hopes of uncovering information about the Baronness."
Ashtear will head off with Albanus to the Smithery as the rest head towards the inn. (notation: Journal and antidote are in my bag of holding. Which she will keep slinged more to her front/front side instead of the usual back or side like a shoulder pack would be. Fact is, she's worried about potential situations with it. So remains holding one hand on it. (shield is off currently))

but thats where it ends.
"That isn't very specific. Machine.. where? I guess her house or the bar storage.?" We should hurry.. How do we handle the horses?"
(As last I knew, we were short ? though one would think the child could rid with someone)
