Mendax you notice something slightly odd about the monks as you great them. Are they a little standoffish? Do they walk away a little more quickly? It’s hard to say but you get the slight impression you make them nervous.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Walking back to his apartment Mendax catches a weird glance from a few of the brothers and tries to wonder what are causing these side glances. Do they know about the false vision of Lathander that visited him? Is this why they cast their eyes away from him?
Mendax, having not told anyone outside your party you can’t think of anyway they would know about your false vision. You can’t imagine Keene would have told them... but they have perhaps seen unsavory types coming and going from your rooms, that could account for their wariness.
Con is up bright and early, and catches Mendax as he's walking through the temple courtyard. Con's mood has not improved, and if any Lathandar monks look at him disapprovingly, they'll get a threatening glare in return.
How are we going into the Bathhouse? Con asks Mendax and Vin. As Flaming Fist? As innocent patrons? As... well, as potential fellow believers? He looks uncomfortable. What's the plan?
Back in the apartment, he moves about silent like a mouse to not wake his friends and starts to make the fire in the fireplace and gets some tea ready. When he sees Kes gets up he offers the lad some tea to hold him over before lunch. "How are we feeling this morning? Those wounds aren't bothering you?"
Kestrell takes the proffered tea. "Thank you Mendax. I'm actually feeling real good, much better than I expected. I think you healed my wounds up nicely."

Kestrell overhears this and says "Well, I don't think we need to be sneaky. We've got the law, or what passes for the law, on our side. I think we should go in there as Flaming Fist, tell them what we are doing and who we are looking for and give these thugs a chance to turn themselves in."

Mendax looks down at the ground, ashamed at how his fellow brothers look at him but he then reminds himself of all the good he's done helping those who have been shunned by society. He then snaps back to the present and answers Con's question by saying, "I think keeping the lowest profile and faking being patrons would work best. None the less we should stakeout the place first to see whose going in and out, so we get a better idea before we try to cloak ourselves. But if we don't want to go that route and rather strong-arm our way in as Fists then that's what we do."
Vin nods. "I agree. Either way, we should observe the place for a while; maybe we'll get a better sense of how to proceed once we know what we're dealing with."
(Do we know the area around the bathhouse? Is there a cafe conveniently across the street?)
"Sounds good, let's go sell these weapons and then scout it out." Kestrell gathers his items, including his new dagger, which he sheaths in his boot, and straps his original dagger on his belt. He puts on his backpack, fastens his rapier, and slings his horn around his neck. Then he grabs his quarterstaff that he uses for walking, makes sure his Flaming Fist badge is attached and visible, and heads out the door.
Mendax takes the warhammer from the mantle and then retrieves his crossbow from his room with a quiver full of bolts. Before leaving he says a quick prayer and when everyone is out of the house he locks it up behind him. "Alright, let's sell this loot and then make our way to the bathhouse." Mendax keeps his badge in his pocket.
Good, says Con. We'll watch for a while, just taking in people coming and going. But sooner or later we're gonna need to ask some questions about our 'friends'. That's where you take the lead, right? You do your... thing, you know? With the talking?
Mendax heads over to The Mithril Hammer with the rest of the group. "Maybe I should go in and see if I can haggle us a good price on these items?" Mendax says as looks at the small bag of random weapon they've collected.

Mendax, having not told anyone outside your party you can’t think of anyway they would know about your false vision. You can’t imagine Keene would have told them... but they have perhaps seen unsavory types coming and going from your rooms, that could account for their wariness.

Low profile is my vote, Con says. Innocent patrons. Travellers maybe. How about you, Vin?
Vin nods. "I agree. Either way, we should observe the place for a while; maybe we'll get a better sense of how to proceed once we know what we're dealing with."

Con follows as the party heads to the Mithril Hammer, his badge also hidden from view.
Kestrell looks back at Con and Mendax. "Why are you guys not wearing your Flaming Fist badges?"
Is Kes wearing his openly?
Kestrell looks down at his badge. "Can't you see it? Right here!" He points to it on his chest. "Should I not be wearing it?"
No, says Con curtly. Put it away. We don't want to attract attention.
"Oh! OK." Kestrell puts the badge in his pocket.

"You got it!"
