Hildi looks at the jewelry “These are fine pieces! Kind of match the scimitars aesthetically, did you go to a pirate’s estate sale? Haha. I see you know what you’re about from your dealing with Bromn so I won’t try and undersell you. I can give you 175 gold for these. I may keep this ring for myself, to be honest.”
the total from both transactions is 86 gold 14 silver and 10 coppers per person.
Con, your whistling, while somewhat pedestrian embodies the spirit of hardworking people who do what they need to get by, kind of like the house band at a shitty bar covering bruce springsteen

Mendax walks out of the blacksmith store and listens to Con's fancy whistling and then when Con takes his money and heads to the bathhouse Mendax follows close behind keeping an eye out for any unusual pedestrians.
So you make your back towards the Elfsong and then head north to reach the bathhouse. Mendax you don’t notice any peculiar people on the way, just the normal cutpurses, prostitutes, and snake oil salesmen you’ve grown accustomed to in Waterdeep. The bathhouse is a one-story stuccoed building with stained-glass windows and clay roof tiles. Ten-foot-tall walls enclose a large courtyard outside the southeast corner of the building. The closed wooden doors to the courtyard are engraved with images of smiling nymphs dancing and frolicking in water. As you watch for a moment you see people entering and exiting the building. If you wish to set up a more prolonged stake-out of the bathhouse, there is a tavern catty corner across the street where you could watch the entrance. What do you wish to do?
As they approach the bath house, Kestrell offers: "So let's recap. We are supposed to find the lair of the followers of the Dead Three, and either arrest them, or kill them if they won't come quietly. Tarina says this bath house is the lair."
The job is to destroy the nest, says Con. We can kill as we go, but... well, that's not the job. He shrugs. But not yet. First we go, and we watch. No stupid risks, and no drawing attention.
Mendax listens to the two and he splits off from them and looks at Vin and nods his head over to the side. As they walk a few paces away from Con and Kes Mendax says, "let them post up a the tavern. You and will act like we're discussing matter about the temple and take a walk around the bathhouse and scope it out. Maybe we'll see something suspicious that can help."
Con sighs as Mendax and Vin walk off, and he's left babysitting the kid. Just... shut up and keep your eyes open. The only thing we're doing today is watching the bathhouse. We see who comes and goes. We see what times it's busy and what times it's quiet. Then we go home and make a proper plan. Get it?
In the tavern, he orders an ale for himself and the weakest shandy for the kid.
"Eyes peeled. Like a banana. Proper Planning. Got it."
As they sit at a table looking out at the bathhouse, Kestrell will take out his newly aquired lamp and cast Light on it, then set it in the middle of the table.
"That's better!"
Then he will cast Mage Hand and scratch the middle of his back where his backpack was irritating him while they walked.
When the barmaid arrives with his Shandy, he will get her name and ask about the bath house over yonder.

Vin nods in agreement with Mendax, following him on a route around the bathhouse and engaging in idle chatter as they go, while keeping an eye out for anything of import; other entrances to the building, any folks that look the be guards, folks concealing weaponry, and also trying to gauge whether anyone seems overly interested in them.

(I am a Crit machine. I think I steal all of Con's luck :P)
Kes, a hafling barmaid sets the drinks on the table “I’m Mims, sir. I’ve never been to the bath house, it’s a bit expensive for me, you see? Why pay all that money for a bath? I just don’t get it. The tubs upstairs get you just as clean and only cost a few coppers! I do see plenty of fancy types coming in and out, though.” She lowers her voice and leans in conspiratorially “I often try to copy the styles of the dresses the ladies wear in my sewing.”
Mendax and Vin you nonchalantly wall the perimeter of the bathhouse. You don’t see anything outwardly suspicious about the building. But looking through the gate you can see that there is a large courtyard. This L-shaped courtyard features a trimmed lawn and nicely manicured shrubbery. The yard is decorated with white marble benches and stone fountains, each in the form of a smiling nymph tipping a jug that spills water into a circular stone basin. People are strolling around the courtyard and lunging on the benches as servers carry trays of drinks and hors d'oeuvres around for them. Would you like to try to peer through the windows of the main building for a better look or just a cursory glance?

Kestrell makes his purchases, and leaves with the group to check out the bath house.
Con is outside, attempting to whistle: Performance 12
How much money does Con get?

Kestrell taps his foot to the tune that Con is whistling: "Lead the way, Boss."
Funny, says Con, scowling. He takes his money, and sets off towards the bathhouse.

"Fancy types, huh? Like Lords and Ladies? Or business folk?"
"Oh, do you have any cheese?"
