EDIT: Just as notification, I have taken a rapier and a longbow.
(OOG Everyone be sure to update your character sheets with new equipment and take a long rest! And Oorr, the bow will come with 20 arrows, in case you wanted to keep track.)
Griming is taking a nicely carved quarterstaff and taking a long rest.
(OOC): Oorr, I have added in my possession the healing potion you gave to me in the boat that I didn't use. Valrish can have the last one ? Who is taking the Potion of Water Breathing ? and also I was just wondering if someone added the Potion of Resistance (necrotic damage) we got against the Druegar ? Just to know who has it ?
(OOG Since you're resting I'll go ahead and hand out experience too. Everyone please add 475 XP to your character sheet. From the Duergar and Kuo-Toa battles.)
And just so I know when you want to continue, please indicate when you go to sleep, after you've spoken with anyone.)
You sleep in hammocks made of nets, in a lower guest chamber of the archpriest's home. Several of the former prisoners toss and turn, nightmares and dreams of tentacles, endless blackness, and gibbering monstrosities filling their heads. In the morning you are woken early and fed a simple meal of moss and fungus, but it is seasoned, adding a bright taste of flavor that you've not had since before being captured. Once everyone is fed, you gather your supplies and new weapons. Ploop and his Kuo-Toa guard drape nets over each of you, and show you how to work the quick release, so you can throw off the nets in an instant. Once everyone is together, the archpriest confirms the plan with you. You will be offered as a sacrifice, and just before you are taken to the altar, he will use the distraction to send his vanguard out to fight and kill the cult members.
"But first, we must make our offerings to the Sea Mother!" And with that he takes you outside, and just up the street to where there is a shrine. A nine-foot-tall statue stands here. Its body is roughly carved from some kind of wood in the shape of a humanoid female, its head and forearms formed from the severed head and claws of a giant albino crayfish. These parts are lashed on with strands of gut, and emit an overpowering stench of rotting shellfish. Shells, brightly colored stones, mushrooms, and rotting fish are piled at the statue’s feet and strung in garlands around its neck. Four stern kuo-toa slowly circle the statue, alert and on guard, while a few others mill about, gazing up at the statue and bowing repeatedly while chanting.
Ploopploopleen approaches the statue, and to your horror, begins hacking and gurgling, eventually vomiting on to the base of the shrine. Then he takes a long bow, before stepping back. The other Kuo-Toa then proceed to the statue as well, but thankfully do not mimic their leader. Instead they each drop off bits and bobbles and other seemingly scavenged oddities into a basket at the base of the statue. Glooglugogg then looks at the "prisoners" and says to his father, "What about them? Should they not also honor the awesome Blibdoolpoolp?"
"Yes, though I will not force them, it could only aid us in our task today." They Kuo-toa turn to look at each of you expectantly. Some others of the fish-folk begin circling the statue and chanting.
I pick up the spell scroll, read it (not out loud, just figuring out what it is), and put it back down. I am visibly not impressed.

OOC: So, just as a clarification, they are expecting us to make an offering?
You gather that they would really like it if you did, but you are not going to be made to offer if you choose not to.
"I am afraid I have nothing to offer. We barely have our equipment."
I'll give an offering--fire.
OOC: Create bonfire, set to deal 0 damage if possible.

"I'm sorry, but I have nothing to offer..." Valrish says, trying to cover the sound of his pouch full of gold coins.
