The sudden burst of fire frightens the fish-folk, a those nearest the shrine jump back. A moment passes as they realize the fire is not harming anything on the altar. Ploopplooppleen shouts, "What? What are you doing!? Quick put that out! You'll damage the shrine!"As he says this he motions to several of his followers who begin rushing up to the statue to vomit on the fire and put it out.
"I'm sorry, but I have nothing to offer..." Valrish says, trying to cover the sound of his pouch full of gold coins.
More disapproving stares, but you do notice that among the offered items, there does not appear to be one gold coin. In fact, most of the items offered do not seem to be worth much at all.
Grimnir place his ration of mushroom in front of the statue.
"may the Sea Mother gives us strength!"
At this, several of the Kuo-Toa nod their heads in agreement, and you receive a large smile from the archpriest himself. "Thank you, friend, I knew I liked you best. Come, it is time. The followers of my daughter and Leemoggoogoon will be gathering at their own shrine for the daily sacrifice."
You all walk away, leaving behind the archpriest's son who will stay to guard the Sea Mother's shrine in case any cult members decide to retaliate.
As you walk through the town, the archpriest and Shuushar point out to you the layout of Sloobludop. To the west are the docks, where boats come in and out of the darklake. It is here where you entered, and also where the shrine of the Deep Father is that you are now heading toward. To the North and South are two large walls have heavy nets and hooks, which protect the city from the other denizens of the underdark. In the middle of each wall is a gate. The gates are guarded day and night, so it is very hard to enter or leave without notice. Just before you reach the docks, Ploopploopleen exhorts you,"Remember, do not make a move until I have called for the attack. The timing must be perfect."
You walk only a short distance more before reaching the docks and the shrine of the Deep Father. The idol to Leemooggoogoon the Deep Father consists of a large hide cut roughly in the shape of a manta ray and stretched out on cords between two support poles. A dead, splayed-out manta ray is pinned to the center of the hide. Two dead octopuses are draped across the top, their tentacles pinned and artfully arrayed, their heads tied together and painted with red and blue pigments. The idol reeks of decay, and the broad stone altar below the idol is stained dark with blood.
6 kuo-toa work around the altar, cleaning and arranging the various objects, much of it covered in blood. A kuo-toa whip stands in front of the altar, flanked by two kuo-toa monitors watching the morning crowd gather for today's sacrifice. As you walk up, another kuo-toa steps out of a small hovel near the shrine. She is dressed in similar garb to Ploopploopleen, although there seem to be more weapons and bloodied items caught in the nets, than just mere baubles. As she sees you approach, her wide eyes impossibly go wider at the sight of the archpriest leading his "prisoners" to her shrine.
The archpriest of the Sea Mother steps forward across the span of the altar toward the kuo-toa waiting for him there.“The time has come,” he says, “for us to acknowledge your divine vision and welcome it. I have brought these as offerings.” He gestures toward all of you, standing within a circle of guards behind him. “Will you not accept them?”
"You are wise, father,” the younger archpriest replies. “I accept your offering in the name of the Deep Father. May their blood nourish and strengthen him!” A burbling cheer goes up from the surrounding kuo-toa, their fists raised in the air.
You are then lead up to the altar by the archpriest of the Deep Father, where you join another sacrifice, a duergar, who is stuggling against the nets binding, apparently the original sacrifice for today. "Oi, you lot look strong. I don't know how you got in this mess, but if you've got any bright ideas for getting out, I'd love to hear 'em," he pleads. Kuo-toa parade around the altar in a wide circle as they chant. Part of their path sends them splashing and wading through the shallows of the Darklake. You quickly can’t tell one faction of fish-folk from the other in all the confusion, though you think you can spot the headdress of Ploopploopleen over the crowd.
Oorr's mind is filling with a sense of disgust as he approaches the altar. All of this is total madness. The only hope is indeed the timing of their escape.

Bloppblippodd calls for the sacrifices to be brought forth, and a Kuo-Toa for each of you jumps from the crowd to stand behind you, prodding you forward with their spears until you are about 20 feet from the altar where a slight depression in the ground with a grate sits stained with blood. From the grate you can hear the gentle lapping of the darklake waters. The chanting from the crowd of fish-folk grows louder.
Bloppblippodd gestures toward the altar, indicating where you will be sacrificed, but before she can speak, he father materializes from the crowd and gives Blopp a resounding crack on her head with his scepter. Dozens of Kuo-Toa loyal to the archpriest of the Sea-Mother and begin attacking the cult members. In seconds, a full on battle is waging. The Kuo-Toa who guard you are momentarily shocked at the sudden battle, and no longer have their focus on you. The duergar prisoner who stands beside you and looks amazed at you all. "You... you had this planned, yeah? Cut my bonds and I'll help you fight your way out of this mess of fish chum."
(OOG rather than roll initiative, everyone just give me an action and/or movement you'd like to do. You have a surprise round on the Kuo-Toa who were prodding you with their spears. It is a free action to doff the nets cloaking your weapons and armor. Belwar, the net does not hinder your hands, so you can still cast with it on. The Kuo-Toa are engaged in battle all around you, but right now no one is focusing on you. Here's a rough diagram of the layout.)

A sudden burst of fire, seemingly out of nowhere ignites among the cultist Kuo-Toa, burning them badly, and helping to give your allies the upper hand. A cheer goes out from some of the followers of the Sea Mother. Meanwhile, a tiny owls swoops down to distract Bloppblippodd, allowing Ploopploopleen to continue his assault on his own daughter. To her credit, Bloppblippodd does not back down, countering and returning her father's attacks, though she looks hurt.

OOC: Finishing a long rest, so I'm going to switch some of my prepared spells. I now have flaming sphere.
Also, am I able to spellcast in my current tied-up state?
