Abigail does a bit of scouting. The wind moving through the trees as she (and the crew not too far behind) begin to look around. There doesn't appear to be anything here. No pathways. No raised bits of dirt to assist in crossing over the bog. Luckily, the water isn't that deep; just below the knee on a average person at the deepest points from Abigail's poking around. Too many hiding spots.... as full grown trees dot the landscape. Some tied off with colored ropes around the trunk. Others painted with splashes of opposite color to the rope. Likely this area is scheduled to be harvested next.
With a small signal of it being ok, the crew begins to move into the area.
It's... quiet. Only the sounds of their feet moving through the water and beginning to glance at the trees. Off in the distance is a small ramp of dirt that leads up to a much drier section, but it'll take a little bit of time while navigating around these massive trees to get there (heads to area 4).
Morgan is the only one to hear it... but only for a moment. The sounds of a chord of rope tightening and relaxing in the wind. Similar to the masts of the Windhook and how the ropes keep the sails up and sometimes strain when shifting. But they're only able to determine that it's from this area... and above them somewhere.
Abigail stops, looking around, she attempts to more cautiously search her surroundings. After all, Morgan may be a bit off sometimes, but has rarely been wrong when it comes to danger...
Morgan begins to search around - along with Abigail and a few others looking about.
Dangling between the trees, roughly 70 feet in the air is a... box. Ropes done around a central pulley system likely at the top. The two sides of the ropes shooting to two separate trees and moving down around their 30' circumference trunk before being tied off roughly 5ish feet away from the bottom. The way the ropes are done looks like a system that requires two to undo the ropes and lower the box back down to the ground. Cutting one side, or the rope at the top, will simply cause the thing to drop like a stone. Each of the trees it's tied to are roughly 60 ish feet apart from one another.
With what you've all seen, from both the farmers of these lands and those who knew Diadochi; Loxodons are strong. Able to carry a handle far more weight than others of similar size. These ropes and the tension with them are likely designed for someone that can handle that amount of tension and pull.
The box itself is a sturdy wood. Slats across the sides and top show it isn't a solid piece. One of the sides seems to have some kind of hinge, along with a smooth bit of metal that from being down below, is impossible to tell more on. As it swings a bit, the rope sounds continue to pick up. Clearer this time with the crew being under it.
Morgan whistles in appreciation, "This is an interesting was to keep things safe... ish. Something about this is giving me gibbeting vibes. Wilson, You want to fly up there and see if you can figure out if whatever's in there is worth our time? Or I could throw a rock at it... for science!"
Lafetha suggest, "Morgan, you're a good climber right? Why don't you and Abigail climb up the trees and on the count of 3 cut it loose, and then you can lower it down!"
Tarak looks at the top suspiciously. It seems to easy. “I suggest Wilson fly up and take a look. Maybe if he finds the gnome he can open the box and fly him down. Plus we know there was a rope on that list we found that seems to correlate to traps. Maybe don’t touch the rope if you can avoid it...”
Wilson looks around, not seeing anything. He takes off - breaking stealth to hover infront of the box suspended in the air. A quick glance inside the slats shows a gnome, as well as some other stuff, but you’re unable to make out more than that.
As Wilson begins to take a look at the lock system he stops - realizing that a arcane plate is infront of it he actual lock. It’ll have to be disabled first. (Thieves tools + int, not dex: action) . Then behind that some sort of lock... (thieves tools + dex: action).
As Wilson looks at this, druidic words echo through the trees. The air condensing and growing hot. The Druid, having been patiently watching, launching his attack.
Morgan: as reaction can attempt a counter spell.
Tarak: Can choose 2 others to be between for spell

Morgan moves (or tries to move) to within 10 feet of the druid, bonus action Hex blades curse and eldritch blast Attack: 11 Damage: 15 Attack: 13 Damage: 8
Setup: The Druid emerges, seeming to step out the shadows. Having been cloaked by the trees and the air itself... much akin to how Lafetha pulls the world around the group when they walked with her own magic. Quickly his large Loxodon body moves, building the internal energy to cast and summon a wall of fire. Just before it ignites around the crew; Morgan quickly counter spells it. Slicing into the air; severing the bonds of magic that connect the Druid to the Real.
The Druid himself is 60 feet away. Vines crawling up and down his arm, while a large staff is held in it's opposite hand. A serpentine staff-head seemingly alive; hissing and moving, as if ready to strike anyone that approaches. Trees create plenty of areas to break line of sight, but the varying water gives away those that move.
Wilson (on 28) - begins working on the Arcane Plate Morgan (on 9) - Moves 30. 2 Blasts.
Druid Raises his hand into the air. A swirl of magic once again appearing. From the area surrounding the crew; 8 bloodhawks form out the water, bits of wood, and other materials that seem to be nearby. The bloodhawks flutter around Tarak, and the others. Easily ready to engage and tear apart the crew... including Wilson
Not sure where I will be in the line up, so if I go before the Bloodhawks are formed:
Abigail starts to make her way over to the druid (whatever 30 ft. gets me).
"You know, usually the people I fight have some sort of code they stand for - it makes them more difficult to cut down. Being such a low-life, it may be easier to put you in your place."

However, if the hawks are up:
Abigail engages to closest Bloodhawk.
"Oh how I hate even the thought of these birds..."

Round 1 (End)
Summary: Wilson, through luck or genius, finds the small tangible threads connecting the arcane plate to the box. Deft hands moving underneath, retracing around what he thinks the runes and bits of dried blood should be and where to scratch them off that won't end in some kind of explosion. And it works... the low wave of arcane energy seeming to evaporate and the plate able to be tossed to the side. Falling down with a splash, leaving him with just the lock to contend with. Abigail quickly spots the Druid, moving closer and keeping some range between the two. Mocking him...
((Druid DC Wis Save: 24))
Lafetha waits a beat, where the Druid then casts his arms up into the air. Calling forth the primordial forces of the world; combining them into small but dangerous birds all around the crew. Lafetha acts on this, swinging some vines into the air but with no success. The birds themselves maneuvering around and away from the whip like vines. Tarak takes his sword and swings twice into the air; one of them connecting with a bird and it falling back into it's elements. A pile of dust, and water. The other evades just as easily.
Morgan steps away from the birds, moving about 30 feet closer to the Druid. Two blasts of rocketing and streaking through the air. The druid turns, moving a bit behind a tree. The first blast a wide miss to where he was, while the second impacts near the tree - but missing him.

Situation: 7 birds are hovering around the crew (and will fly up on their initiative to attack Wilson). Wilson, 50 feet above Lafetha and Tarak, see's now a regular - but decently made - lock in front of him (Action: Thieves Tools + Dex). Down below he can see the swarm of hawks looking up at him.
