The crab that gets through...
Attack: 26 Damage: 14 If hit; bonus.. 13
Section 5 (End)
Lafetha jams her oar into the gills of one of the crabs, driving it away. Wilson takes a shot, it hitting the crab but not doing enough to dissuade it. Sim and Morgan both attempt to jam their oars at the crab, but only manage to bat against the top of it. A ballista bolt, along with some choice words, comes from Rollo who's shot manages to miss the beast as well.
The crab continues forward, it's large claw coming up and attempting to grab the hull. Luckily, Abigail is able to turn the boat away. Using the speed of the rapids to continue forward. Leaving the crab in the dust.
The pace of the pass continues to increase. The boat skipping along a few drops. Off in the distance, swarms of man sized wasps begin to crawl out of their concrete huts that tower along the side. Large rocks continue to jut out of the water, but the growing speed making the ship turn not quite as well.
"Ok get ready.."
Abigail: Maintain control of the boat! Water Vehicle + Dex Roll. Better you do, the easier it is for your companions... <11: Crew has disadvantage on actions this round 11 - 15: Enemies have Partial Cover due to rocking and spray 16+: No penalties
Crew: Attack! Pick section 7, 8, or 9. Make your attack rolls. (I will subtract 5 if Abigail rolls after people, and rolls poor enough for disadvantage) (Unknown AC. Every 10 damage in a section; will give a -1 to the bug rolls)
The swarms of man-sized bugs begin to close in. The crew taking pot shots while Abigail holds the boat steady. As they approach, they're able to get the insects a little smaller. Scaring some off, injuring others.
Section 7: -1 to roll Section 8: -2 Section 9: -1 (the 12 was a miss)
Section 7
The boat continues to rock and move. One good thing about the current section; there weren't as many boulders sticking out that the rest of the crew needed to deal with. But the energy of the water keeps trying to slam the boat up against the side, causing Abigail to continously fight with the wheel.
Water Vehicle Check: 13 / Failure is 4d10 Damage (Bonus action to again order Rollo to fire)
2 massive bugs begin their approach as Abigail continues to spin the wheel. The bugs seem to pick their targets, giving the crew moments to prioritize. (Bugs target on 1d6. Alphabetical on all characters on the deck. Abigail, Lafetha, Morgan, Rollo, Sim, Wilson) (If bugs are not killed, targeted person makes DEX SAVE DC 14. If fail, DC 17 STR save to not get stuck and pulled off the boat and it begins to fly away...)
BONUS CREW ACTIONS: Special Bonus Action: "Hold on to someone" - gives someone advantage on the STR SAVE Special ACTION: "Toss them to the ground" - gives someone advantage on the DEX SAVE
Morgan sees the wasp come for Rollo. They see a future in which they are one step closer to running the ship, one step closer to power. Morgan looks at their team and realize they are not yet ready to accept them as the clear and obvious leader. Morgan sighs, " Rollo, look out!" And fires two Eldritch blasts at the incoming wasp Attack: 10 Damage: 9 Attack: 17 Damage: 11. Bonus action hold onto him.
Abigail continues to turn though the turbulent waters. Sim and Morgan take aim at one of the bugs - both shots finding their way home. The singular bug falling into the water with a splash. Rollo, seeming determined to redeem himself let's loose with the ballista. The bolt flying through the creature and then off into the distance. Only bug bits fluttering to the water after.
Section 8
The water continues to churn and turn. Keeping Abigail focused on maintaining control... Water Vehicle: 12 DC (/fail 4d10 damage)
From the towering walls of the hive, another 3 emerge Bug 1 Targeting: 2 Bug 2 Targeting: 6 Bug 3 Targeting: 2 (2 in a line towards Lafetha. 1 circling but keeping towards Wilson)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Morgan sees the wasp head towards Wilson, a sees a future where they are one step closer to getting to play with Wilson's cool guns without getting yelled at. And then looks at the rest of the team, and see how boring it would be without him. Morgan rolls their eyes, "ugh, they ruin everything." they say to no one in preticular. Eldritch blast Attack: 19 Damage: 7 Attack: 7 Damage: 5
After the initial jolt of confidence from destroying the first two wasps and safely navigating the waters, Abigail's hope fades as even more wasps appear.
"I am sorry for subjecting you all to this... I thought it was the best route at the time."
The bugs come over, flying low and attempt to snatch Lafetha.... Dex Save: 3 Str Save: 5 Dex Save: 22 Str Save: 6
Lafetha manages to roll out of the way of one of the bugs, but the second snatches her. Lifting her into the air and beginning to quickly fly away....
Summary: Three bugs approach the boat. Abigail, apologizing for the route, continues to navigate around the rocks. Wilson lines up a shot, striking 2 of the bugs cleanly but not killing them. Then, he whirls around and fires at the third, with another clean hit. Morgan's arcane energies tear through the air - striking the bug that Wilson just shot and reducing it to a burned exoskeleton. Sim tries to shoot one of the bugs coming for Lafetha, but misses. Lafetha herself strikes out at the bug, only to have to duck and roll out of the way. Unfortunately she rolls straight into the other bug who picks her up and begins to fly away with her in toe.
Section 8 (Round 2)
One of the bugs is coming around for another pass, this time heading to attempt to get 5 (Treat 1 & 2 as Abigail). The other insect has Lafetha in it's clutches and is bee-lining it towards the rocky nests, likely to take her where-ever they bring their prey. The boat is continuing to move down the river at a quick pace, as Rollo looks back keeping his attention on the bug as not to loose it. "Turn hard and break against the water!"
Abigail: Water Vehicle Check 17 DC - or - Lafetha and the bug are 120 feet away from the boat. Success, and they're 30 feet away.
Lafetha: You find yourself grappled and stuck in a awkward position against the bug's legs. It's sticky concrete like secretion beginning to dry and keep you from moving. (Disadvantage on all rolls except STR save to pull yourself off of it. DC 17)
Crew - what do you do with another insect coming for another pass and Lafetha (30 or 120) feet away off the side of the boat?
Wilson launches from the boat his rifle on the deck chasing the bug holding Lafetha a long sword swiftly drawn from the feathers on his back where it had been concealed hitting the duo in midair he wraps his talons around Lafethas waist.
"Hold on...and duck" he yells to her as the sword whips through the air above her head at the bug
Attack: 12 Damage: 3
((not sure if i get 2 attacks doing this or if helping her escape counts as one but if I do...))

Morgan sees Lafetha get carried off and they smile to themselves, the one standing in their from taking over the ship and playing with cool guns... No wait, Morgan was thinking about Salty Pete. "Dammit! I always get those two confused!" They call to Wilson "hey Wilson! You remember Salty Pete? Whatever happened to him?" Morgan Eldritch blasts the bug Wilson is fighting (assuming it's not already defeated) Attack: 7 Damage: 4 Attack: 25 Damage: 12
