The caltrop works it's way into the stone and wedges itself in place. The marble stone is soft, but also can hold a lot of weight. What were once large slabs of a walk way stay fixed in place as the caltrop is worked into it. As time goes on, the whispers of the psychic projections grow more clear and louder, as if they are working their way toward you through time and space. The sound is threatening and aggressive.
"We must be getting closer," Hallanann observes. "Those psychic projections are getting closer and they sound angrier. This is such an odd place. Can we use these caltrops to climb?"
When trying to put weight on the caltrops, they pop out of the stone. "If only someone had something bigger," Dain says, "Or more appropriate for climbing."
Gold will tie the caltrop to the end of his rope and start throwing it up to see if it will catch on anything. He also tells the others "See how high you can get by helping each other up. Maybe a pyramid with some of us on the bottom and several climbing can do it."
Chikra's tail is lashing angrily. Everything about this is making her nervous, and she doesn't like it. "I have a climbing kit, and rope. I'm also fairly good at climbing freehand."(She has a natural climbing speed equal to her walking speed).
"Right." Chikra hands one end of the rope to Kodrith. "Keep tension on this line as I climb, it'll help keep me from falling too far if something does happen."She'll gear up and then climb the rock wall, carefully picking her way up, setting anchor points with the pitons and bringing the rope with her to the top.
Chikra makes her way carefully up the wall, placing pitons at regular intervals. She slips at about 10 feet from the ground, but catches herself. She places a piton to aid her in her assent. About 5 feet from the top, the wall is much more sheer than it looked from below. She slips and falls. Because to the carefully placed protection, and the strength of the party members holding the rope, she does not fall far. She finishes her assent and belays the remaining party members from the top.
At the top of this cliff is a circular room smells of dried herbs, woodsmoke, and old paper — as well it should, with a roaring fire, stuffed bookshelves, and bunches of herbs and sticks of incense cluttering the space. Seated head to head at a circular table are a familiar elderly orc and an olive skinned human woman in her forties in elaborate blue robes, with grey streaks in her hair. Both look up at your entrance, mildly surprised.
You have walked into an event that has already happened: Tsendur’s visit with Savila in the Bridged City. Time, as well as space, is currently in disarray in the Academy.
Tsendur shows Savila some charcoal rubbings of an ornate, magical clasp. Savila is visibly uncomfortable when she recognizes the design and relates says "This item is The Clasp of Vergren. It belonged to Mesos and was stolen and hidden by Enkili as a prank. Mesos struck Enkili powerless, severing their connection to the worship of mortals in a fit of anger, which was the final straw that prompted the gods to rise up against their parents before the Titans decided to destroy them. The Clasp is said to grant the wearer the ability to replenish their magical energy (i.e. regain spell slots) by plugging into the ambient magical energy of the cosmos. It is also supposedly extremely dangerous to scry on the Clasp’s wearer."
Savila asks how Tsendur came to have the Clasp in his possession, and where he’s been hiding it. He describes the box in which he keeps it, in his home. A simple box, carved from blackwood, with double doors with onyx knobs. The interior of the box cannot be scried, dowsed for, or detected by any means while the box remains closed. Savila identifies it as Drendari’s deedbox. During the Divine War the deedbox was used by Drendari to pass messages on behalf of gods and their mortal generals. The box’s exterior is virtually indestructible. It is immune to all forms of damage and can only be destroyed if bathed in the heart’s blood of a divine being for 30 days. Once locked, the box can only be opened with the command word or the wish spell.
The crimson path splits to the left and right away from the room. It's impossible to tell where either side are going as they both are twisting and phasing in and out of time and space.
Hallanann dryly observes, "It seems Savila's explanation of the Clasp to Tsendur was missing some key details - namely how 'plugging into the magical energy of the cosmos' negatively affects everyone else. Come on. Let's continue. The sooner we stop her and Meso's Bane, the better." Then, Hallanann cautiously continues to follow the path.
Gold watches in wonder at the time lapse and the interaction between Savila and Tsendur. He also notices that Hallanann starts off trying to follow one of the paths (assume path to the right) and he follows closely behind.
"I just want to finish up here and get out." Lia says, nodding to the path forward as well. She does take a moment to see if anything in the room can be touched or taken, or if it is just an illusion or ghost-image.
Tsendur and Savila conversation is ended when they fade into a different existence, but before they do, a key drops on the ground. It is a brass key with an elaborate, winged design.
As you are walking down the crimson path, everything goes completely black. Even the light of the path as disappeared. The sound of the rattling of your armor, and the feel of the ground has changed. It air is cold and humid. It sounds like you are in an earthen cave. From behind you you hear a sinister sound of overlapping whispers.

Hallanann pauses his forward movement while the others are doing their thing (Lia picking up the key and Gold trying to figure out what's going on). He looks back and attempts to cast Prestidigitation to create as bright of a light as possible. (If possible).
He will also take a moment to listen intently and look (using Darkvision).

"Great." Lia says, nodding to Chikra. "You climb up and then tie a rope off so the rest of us can do so."
Gold looks to Chikra. "Make it so. If you are able to climb up and tie off the rope that would be great!"
