Lia readies an action to shoot when she has a shot at one of the shadows.
"If you drop to the ground for an instant, then get back up, I can get a shot off..." She tells whoever is in front.
(Idea is to drop prone on your own turn, then use your own movement to get back to your feet, then do your normal actions. Only takes half of your movement to get to your feet, so will allow those behind to shoot, or attack, if they ready actions to do so... and it is all done on whoever is in front's turn, so doesn't chance the shadows getting attacks on you either. No attacks of Opportunity in 5E for getting up from prone.)
(This might be a little different than the 5e movement rules, but the way I would like to play this is that the Shadows are trying to get into the room with you, but are currently blocked. Dropping prone would give them an opportunity to get into the room. Then it will be more than one at a time, and those digging will be attacked.)

(OOC: that is fine, I was going more on the initiative rules than the movement rules to be truthful. If the person in front drops prone, a free action, allowing those who ready action to get a strike in, then he stands back up, a move action, and attacks, his regular action, it would all happen on that character's turn, effectively not giving the shadows any way to move forward. Eventually they would realize what was going on and just ready actions to move forward when the front person dropped. If that is not ok, then we'll stay with it as is, and Lia will not take any shots.)
Gotcha. Then Hallanann will just keep moving dirt for the time being.
(ooc: how much dirt are we talking about, also? How big is the doorway that we're clearing it out of? With a standard 6'-8" doorway, there would be somewhere around 19 cubic feet of space. It takes me about 6 seconds to remove 1 cubic foot, so it should only take about 2 minutes to move all of the dirt by myself. With two other people helping, I would think it would take closer to 1min?)
Gold doesn't see how to help the battle and will continue to dig. If it gets difficult he will use a caltrop to help dig through. "Apparently I need to pick one of those up next time I'm in town."He says to Lia and motions towards her shovel.
Yes, your weapons from Dain's forge are magical, so the Shadows do not have a resistance. At this point Dain is watching what is going on. If you need help, he will lend a hand. His main goal is to find his friends.
Kodrith and Krusk kill the first shadow, but there is another one right behind it. Lia launches a cross bow bolt and nails it right between the eyes. A mighty impressive shot around her friends.
Shadow 2 attacks Kodrith. Attack: 24 Damage: 16 vs AC 15
Kodrith is hit hard by the shadow doing 15 damage. (now at 16HP)
For my own sake of keeping things straight, I made a map and put it on roll20
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Shadow 2) 21-14-8=0 Shadow 2 is dead.
(Shadow 3) 23 HP
35-5-1-8=21 gallons of dirt remaining.
You can now see through to the other side of the door. The crimson path is on the other side. The opening is wide enough that Chikra could squeeze through. Even though you have slain 2 shadows, there seems to be several more lining the tunnel.
(Shadow 3) attacks Kodrith. Attack: 23 Damage: 7 vs AC 15

Does Hallanann have line of sight on the front most Shadow?
If not, considering the confined space, he'll continue doing what he's doing to help the team move forward and hopefully get away from the Shadows.
If he does have line of sight, he'll take a break from clearing dirt to cast Magic Missile at it. There's no saving throw.
Magic missile #1 force dmg: 3
Magic missile #2 force dmg: 2
Magic missile #3 force dmg: 4

The shadow have readied the move action. Is Lia going to take a shot with 3/4 cover, help dig, or do something else?
There is still dirt to clear. Hallanann would need to switch places with Lia to get a shot with 3/4 cover.

Lot's of stuff ...
OOC: would our upgraded weapons count as magical weapons (the ones from the forge)? Also, what is the guy from the forge doing, since he followed us?
