Lia stays sitting inside. She feels she would probably be a better lookout, but is much more comfortable sitting inside the coach, where it is likely to be a bit warmer as well.
Gold wasn't paying as close attention as he should have been or he would have volunteered for the top spot or the trunk but all is good. He chuckles at the misguided puns and faux pas. He climbs in next to Lia and tries, unsuccessfully, to shrink into his share of the couch. "Excuse me, I apologize for my girth. I'll try to stay on my side" He smiles as best he can.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

As you depart from Durgan's Rest in the comfort of the carriage it begins to snow. Despite it being cold, it is quite present. On the left are the Kelder mountains seemingly tearing like a bony back out of the plains. You can see why they call this range the backbone of Ghelspad. On your right is a beautiful old growth forest. moss and vines cling to the tall trees, and shrubs and grasses thrive in their shade. The road is well maintained, for the dirt road it is, but off the road, travel would be difficult.
Hallanann pulls the hood of his cloak up, steeling himself against the cold air that he's sure to come as he sits on top of the coach. He's distracting himself from the cold by mentally focusing on keeping an eye out for anything suspicious looking on the road. He stowes his staff on his back, and readies his Crossbow, Light and makes sure his Crossbow Bolts are within easy reach.
Without taking his eyes off of the road and surrounding area, Hallanann says to Tiarsus, "I hope you'll be warm enough."
Gold, Lia, Kodrith, and Chikra are enjoying each other company in the cab, and getting to know one another better.
About 5 miles from the Bridged City, apart from the usual animals in the forest, Hallanann notices some suspicious people lurking around. To the left of the cab there are 2 people hiding behind trees, and on the right are three more. Just before Hallanann has a chance to raise an alarm, a lanky figure in a ragged red cloak steps out onto the road before them brandishing a shortsword.
Tiarsus applies the breaks, “Whoa!” he says to his two horses.
“There’s two ways off this road, friends,“ the boy says. ”You pay the toll, or my mates drag your bodies into the woods. What’ll it be?”
Hallanann knocks on the roof/side (whichever is closest) of the coach and yells, "We've got company!" Then, directing what he says next at the brigand in the road, "And, how much is the toll?" As he's speaking to the lanky figure, he is slowly, and as subtly as possible getting his Crossbow, Light in a good position for a quick draw should the need arise.
Stealth: 14 (just in case it helps or is necessary to hope that the lanky figure doesn't notice Hallanann readying the crossbow.)
Gold is not sure what is happening but when he hears Hallanann he surrounds himself in a protective magical force and exits the coach as quickly as possible moving next to bandit #5. "This is not going to be a good day for you!"
Squares are 5 feet. Being under a tree provides half cover from those on the other side of the tree. Being in the cab provides 3/4 cover. The green parts are covered in shrubs and dense grass and are difficult terrain.
(OOC: Does Gold see bandit #5? If yes, then he would try to get within melee distance of him, Gold's normal movement is 35 ft so he should be able to cover 15 ft in difficult terrain. Should I rework his previous post? Let me know what he can see and how I should work this.)
"Guess we earn our keep..." Lia says, thinking of why they got away with paying half-price. She casts mirror image on herself as she gets out of the coach, 3 illusionary images of herself swirling around her.
"Sure you want to do this?" She asks the one barring the road as she lifts her heavy crossbow to a ready position. She positions herself so that she has some cover from bandits on one side of the wagon though.
Chikra leaps out of the carriage on the other side, her own shortbow out, shield strapped to her back and sword at her side. "I don't know, a quiet ride can be a little boring."
Gold is not sure what is happening but when he hears Hallanann he surrounds himself in a protective magical force and exits the coach as quickly as possible moving next to bandit #5. "This is not going to be a good day for you!"
Hallanann, still addressing the bandit captain, says, "As you can see, it's probably in your best interests to just let us pass. If you do, we'll let you live. If you insist on this course of action, we won't let you live. Your choice."
"This is how my dad made a living to support us," The boy says, "And it's how I'm going to provide for us now!" He seems hesitant, and takes a step back when approached. Nevertheless, he raises his sword, and repeats his demand. "Five gold pieces each."
The other bandits also fall back when approached, and look to their leader for a signal, but keep their crossbows trained on you.
"You can leave now, and do as you will after this, or you will most likely be laying here a bloody mass for scavengers." Lia says in a deadly voice. She lifts her heavy crossbow to the ready position. "You better pick now..."
(ooc: based on the last thing the bandit captain said, it makes me wonder if he's young/younger - like a teenager, or something. Also, what race does he seem to be? Perception18)

Chikra, Intimidation 9 vs Tiarsus DC 10
"Well, I suppose that's only fair... or is it just the fare?" Tiarsus muses. "3 gold pieces please."

(Sorry, I should have made it more clear as to who can see who. Gold, you can edit your post, or make a new one.)
Gold and Lia can see bandit 5 and bandit captain.
Chikra and Kodrith can see bandit 1 and the captain.
Krusk can see bandit 5
Hallanann sees everyone.
If you want to use a skill, please feel free to roll.
Lia glances around as she gets out, looking for more than just the two bandits...
