Lem very awkwardly greets each member of Yokini's family as either her mom, dad, or sibling, even though none of them are. He thanks them for bringing her into his life and tries to tell a story about her and him bonding during the war, before their attentions shift to more pressing things like hunger, thirst, and desire to leave.
He then searches the dead kobolds in the room, looking for keys, pots of scorpions, levers, valuables, writing, or anything interesting. (Investigation: 19)
Then he prepares to move along, unless the others want to make this a short rest.
Depending on how long this takes, Thistle is hoping for a short rest. As she waits and watches the stairs, she spends a little time binding her wounds. Between the acid goop, the scorpion stings, and a sling stone to the thigh, she is a little banged up.
Do the kobolds, in fact, have short swords (the few that attacked tried to use daggers)?
Yokini, with Raddunth's help, takes the two kobolds, puts them into the cages that the captives had been cooped up in, and locks them and stacks in such a way as they cant escape.
Raddunth, if you dont already have inspiration, I award you inspiration for that. Great idea!
Thistle, Lem is searching the bodies of the kobolds and only finds daggers on them. Lem, you find a few daggers and slings, but no much else.
"Any weapons we can spare, let's leave," Yokini says. "Just in case our scaly friend wasn't being completely honest." She leaves her dagger and hammer with two someones so they might be able to defend themselves if needed. "Oh! I'll be right back," she says, a thought suddenly coming. She moves back over to the stairwell and climbs ten feet up. Again fiddling with the strange glove on her left hand, she turns a nob and extends three fingers. She touches the stair at measured points across the path. A gossamer strand is left behind in a complicated pattern that would be impossible to not trip ... unless you're hovering or flying. (alarm performed as a ritual with an audible bell sound that anyone can hear) Ten minutes later, she returns. "I left an alarm. That should help keep you all safe while we're further down," she says to her family.
Yokini, you gather up what was left from the kobolds. You have enough for the captives to each have either a dagger or a sling from the kobold corpses, and whatever the party chooses to give them.
Yokini, your family looks at you, and pleads with you: Dont go Yokini! We just got you back. Please dont go again! Stay with us Yokini!
Lem walks to Kokini's side. "Should I leave Moon with them? Then I can check in on them every once in a while? We might need her down there but she could always come back if so."

"As a firm believer in wisdom, recent bouts of questionable actions on this one's part aside, that sounds like an excellent idea, Mr. Lem. Might I suggest that if said distance down be much further than expected, Moon should be prepared to come warn us in the event of a need to return post haste."Zashier suggested, after having slowly but surely come out of his earlier funk.
He still seemed a little out of sorts, but put on the brave face and with axe in hand, went over to follow the others down if Thistle or Raddunth weren't too insist on a different order.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
He stands up when the others are ready to move along. "Ini, let's go find your mother and sister and do something about this Ice Squall person. Dragon. Thing."
As he passes by the cage with the kobolds, his mage hand appears and drifts through the bars and begins to poke them both mercilessly. "So what's down those stairs? Scorpions? Oozes? Darts? Some of my family? His? Hers? What? What? What?" His hand opens and begins to cast a fire bolt, but just enough to erupt into flames and send a dart shooting up at the ceiling.
Lem walks by the cages holding the kobolds and creates a mini fireball, asking what lies below, but one of the kobolds is still unconscious, and the other is still stewing, upset at being forced into a small cage.
As you make your way out of the room, leaving the semi-armed freed captives behind (along with the two caged kobolds), you pass by the bloody altar on the left where you notice fancy stone carvings in the wall and base of the altar of a 5 headed dragon most of you recognize as a likeness of Tiamat. Based on the construction of the basement, the obvious craftsmanship that is far beyond kobold tunneling, you get the impression that the previous owner had this room of worship to Tiamat...
you exit the room, down the stairs, single file with Thistle probing the darkness with a little help from Zashier's axe. Down the stairs, Thistle finds a tripwire set up, (Thieves Tools 23) which she easily dismantles. As she cuts the wire, the weight pulls her arm to the side. She and Zashier slowly ease the wire to the side, and into the wall, and as they do a bucket of what looks like ooze lowers down in front of you. Zashier reaches up, as the tallest int he group, and pulls the bucket down and sets it to the side.
The group continues down, around that landing and another set of stairs, which open out into a 30x30 room, and in the middle sits an older kobold with a staff in his lap. His tangle of hair seems longer than the others you have seen so far, and he even seems to have some scruff, almost a short beard. (Stealth 15) He doesnt notice you as you come to the bottom of the stairs.
Across the room, a doorway exits the room, but you cant see where it goes.
Zashier lightly brushes, and waves his hands in an 'O, you~' gesture. Once the bucket is good and out of his hands. Prior to the group moving on however, he takes one last look at the bucket, squints at it, and then unless stopped otherwise, picks it up with his trunk and carries it along for the trip.
Once the group reaches the bottom of the stairs, Zashier waits for the all clear from Thistle. But once given, looks back to the others and gestures to the bucket while waggling his eyebrows.

Yokini pauses to look at them. "I'm not going far. I have to look for Mom and Nynoa. I need to rescue them as well. I'll be back. Soon."
Lem walks to Kokini's side. "Should I leave Moon with them? Then I can check in on them every once in a while? We might need her down there but she could always come back if so."
Yokini, your family does not look happy about it, but they also dont seem to have much of a choice in the matter.
All, we are considering the time spent here with Yokini's family, freeing them, and helping them get some food and water, as a short rest.
Raddunth uses this time to bandage the acid wounds. Using 2 dice, for a total of 25 points healed. (Back to full health.)

Zashier, you know have a bucket of what looks like ooze.
