Zashier, for once, is not as in much of a hurry to be in the front. Though he would try to stay close, if only due to be the main light source(ala Glowing Axe), the earlier enthusiasm has waned from the elephantine man. Despite this, he still puts in some effort to seem alert, and held his shield ready to deflect any more surprises upon a friend in arms reach.

Thistle, as you move through the short passage into a small alcove, you see three doorways - one left, one right, one center directly across from you. You do not get the sense that there are any traps here. Lem sends moon off to swoop into the pit and then into the alcove, and confirms what you already see.
Zashier, from where you are, your nose is picking up a funky smell.
Thats just a guess. if you want to change that let me know.
As the party moves forward, cautiously into the alcove, there are no traps. Zashier, your senses are going crazy. The entry to your left stinks to high heaven. The passageway to the right stinks, but in a different way. Not as pungent.
No smells coming from the entry in the center of the wall opposite you.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Noticing Zashier's reaction (I assume), Thistle looks back at him. "Any one of these ways smell like kobold?" She will also examine the doorways to look for tracks and the like (not a strong suit).

“So they were ready for us down here and the doors are closed. These three doors are the only way they would be, right? Should we start with the worst smell and figure out what is going on? Open just a crack?”
(OOC: I assume the doors have U-shaped handles, or latch handles.)
Raddunth twirls the rod like a baton. "Perhaps someone can pick a door to be checked last, and we can use this new toy to make sure that door stays shut until we are ready to open it... Don't want unwelcome guests creeping up behind us."
(OOC: Are these archways, or doorways? Some of the text makes it seem like open passages, some of the comments sounds like doors.)

Zashier had indeed clamped down on his trunk and in such a hurry, he nearly drops his axe in the process. So, it'd be more than waving of the light and him stopping that gives away the distress. And the more people talk of actually going into the room, the sicker the elephantine man appears to become. "Ah yea naw man. Not the left one, if you are in the mood to be kind, which would be very appreciated at this exact moment." He mentions in a nasally voice. "My vote is right, if only because it's less smell, and less smelly things means Dragon probably stays there."

Sorry for any confusion, there is a door in front of you. The openings to the left and right are just passageways (no door).
Then Raddunth suggests using the rod to bar the door from opening, while the party choses either left or right.

Raddunth sets the immovable rod in front of the only door, ensuring it wont be opened.
Moon flys off into the stinky room to your left. Through her eyes, Lem sees that this room is pure filth. It is a cesspool. From what you can tell, it must be where the kobolds take care of their....bathroom business....
and since moon is already flying around...
Moon flys into the room on the right as well. Before her eyes, Lem sees a room about 30x30 with different holes dug into the ground and the walls, with some leaves and torn clothes, and other soft materials likely pilfered from the caravans - likely their bedding/nesting room. A single kobold is here, standing guard in the far side of the room....as Moon swoops closer, she can tell what he is guarding....eggs. There must be 60-70 eggs laid out behind the guard on the far side of the room. The next generation of kobolds...
Moon relays all this to the party. Bathroom, bedroom, nursery. One guard. No sign of gnomes or other soldiers. He sends Moon into the other passageway.

The right passageway smells more generically kobold. The left smells...rank. just...bad. I imagine Zashier clamping down on his sensitive trunk.
Equal travel in all directions.

Yokini looks at the loxodon. "But what if my mother and sister are in there?"
Thistle looks from one door to another. "We could scout the smelly one without committing to it..." she offers. "Just to make sure they aren't there?"

“Moon doesn’t mind smells. Go ahead little one, and take a look.”
