Seeming to find that the Mind Flayer is telling the truth, Iorythas returns his rapier to the sheathe on his side. He nods and will wait to see what the others have to say.
Real looks around and then addresses the Mind Flayer again "Do you have a map of these corridors? We are unfamiliar with this temple and its hallways. Any help you can give would be appreciated."
Bjorn will help anyone that wants to prefrom an investigation of the area for anything that might have to do with the wards. "Iorythas, could you help me look for something that might be of interest. Also, perhaps we should try the door in the other room." (Are there any other doors in here?)
Real looks around and then addresses the Mind Flayer again "Do you have a map of these corridors? We are unfamiliar with this temple and its hallways. Any help you can give would be appreciated."
"I have no map." The mind flayer says with a shake of his tentacled head. The little I was able to see as I fled was that there was another door back the way you came from, plus some stairs going down. From here you just have the door there and the stairs here going up. I have not dared to go beyond that, being wounded as I am." He nods to the door near-at-hand and the stairs you can see close-by that lead upwards.
There are four places to go from this point. You can go up the stairs in the hall you currently stand in, check out the door in this same hall, you can go back to the previous room and check out those stairs that lead downward, or you can go through the Northern door in that first chamber.
"Up is as good as any other direction. Should I scout ahead?" Iorythas asked as he moved to head towards the rest of the group, moving quietly as he waited for the go ahead to scoout or not.
At the top of the stairs Iorythas and Clay find a door that opens onto...
Before you is a wide expanse of grey flagstones, creating a flat deck teeming with angelic beings and robed clerics of every sort. It overlooks a vast, near-spherical cavern hundreds of feet across and carved out of blackened, warped stone.
In the very centre of the cavern is a flickering, constantly shifting crack of sparking purple energy that lends the entire space a sickly pallor. A thick pair of ropes disappear into the crack, connecting it to a heavy wooden frame mounted on the deck.
Hanging from the ropes, just beyond the frame, is a wooden platform maybe 20 ft. wide and twice as long. A stream of figures seem to be loading it up with small boxes or crates, causing it to sway rhythmically as they drop their cargo and head off.
Further back on the decking a group of Clerics work to pack the boxes, though from here you can’t quite tell what with. On the plus side, they all seem far too busy to have noticed you yet.
With a quick glance about the deck you estimate that there are around 50 enemies working there, including a dozen or so angels.
Ooc: How long has it been since the fight earlier? I summoned one eldritch cannon and I should of summoned two. If its been an hour I would need to resummon them.
"I am not one to back down from a fight, but don't you think we should see about getting some sort of reinforcements, such as the mind flayer's kin?" Saralyssa suggests. "At least a dozen angels is a bit much for us to be taking on don't you think?" She nods back towards the door you have not check in this hall yet. "Could check in there, or go back to the first room and check either the stairs or the door there..."
Pinnacle follows behind the rest of the group, quiet for the moment.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Iorythas nods as ne moves towards the other door, pausing in front of it to check for traps carefully. "I agree. If we are to attack them even if we do not get reinforcement it would not be a bad idea to find a better vantage point."

Before you is a blocky, windowless room with slabs of plain grey stone on the floor and ceiling. The walls, however, glitter and shine. Silver light dances off dozens, maybe hundreds of weapons that hang from racks and rest against plain wooden stands.
The only other furniture is a blackened anvil, behind which sits a tall figure seemingly made of gleaming steel. It appears hard at work attending to a sword, which glows white-hot as the creature slowly moves its palm across the blade.
As the door swings open the metallic blacksmith looks up at you with eyes that glow like embers. “May I help you?” it says.
Tykoris will move up towards the figure and bow, "Greetings, I am Tyrkoris Dawnbringer, faithful of Lathander. Are you aware that your temple has been invaded by a heretic intent on using forbidden magics?"

Tyr will look to the others, "I think we should go up, anyone else?"
Real listens closely and thinks for a few moments "Ok, let's go up, anyone else have any thoughts"

Real agrees with Iorythas and sends Clay to scout ahead with him. They will follow behind at a reasonable distance, maybe 15 or 20 feet.

Iorythas will slip his way back to the group to tell then what he saw. "Perhaps we could drop the platform."

Investigation: 32
You do not find any traps on the door.
