As you now ascend the stairs, they take you to the second floor of the winery. Multiple rooms line the north side of the floor and a balcony allows you to overlook the wine vats. However, the first room of this second floor hangs open. From what you can tell, in this chamber are a desk, a chair, a tall wooden cabinet, and a strange contraption that takes up most of the northern end of the room. Additionally, three creatures are here. One appears human but is so caked with dirt and mud that it’s hard to know for sure. Her hair is full of twigs, and her face is hidden behind a veil of moss. She is rooting through the contents of the cabinet and haphazardly tossing them onto the floor. Behind her stand two creatures made entirely of dead vines. These blights seem different from any that you have encountered before... They have not noticed you yet;
"GRRRRRIIIIIIMMMMMMMMMMM," Grim yells as he charges, excited from the previous battle, "DAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRKSTTOOOONNNEEE."
Most of his attacks are wasted as he hits the woman, and a hollow sound rings out as his kick and fists hit wood? He powers through this defense with his Quarterstaff.
(OOC - unless we haven't 'surprised' the human and her blights - then I can't assassinate I can try and sneak attack)
[Longbow: 23 Damage: 17]
and then
[Initiative: 5]
(OOC - I think that's right - assassinate is advantage vs creatures who haven't taken a turn - and hit I score against a creature that is surprised is a critical hit - plus sneak attack (I think I can do that too) equals roll all the dice twice and add my bonus)

With that, combat begins. However, Grim, as you return to your fighting stance, you catch a glimpse of something that shakes you for a moment. The vine blight to the left of you seems... familiar. It’s vaguely feminine, with long vines that seem to resemble hair. You can’t, or don’t want to, place where you’ve seen it.

((I’ll allow it!))
The human seems like she has recovered from Grim’s attacks, but then an arrow pierces her skull, because Elwarith is magical. The second arrow flies through the second vine blight’s chest, which annihilates part of its chest. However, it still stands.

(OOC - thanks - rogues are new to me so still trying to get the mechanics down as to what I can and can't do in a round - which is why I added the explanation. Assassinate seems kinda OP but really is a one trick pony - only useful as a first attack - I guess the idea is that there's a chance you can end a fight quickly if you can strike that first blow to kill them)

(OOC - especially with the way I roll shitty initiative haha - and I totally forgot about my arcane archer stuff - but that's ok those are limited between rests
also Grim - way to Leroy Jenkins this encounter hehe)
The Revenant flips into the room following the Monk and the sneaky Rogue. He fluently takes two arrows from his quiver and throws them towards the blight Elwatirh just hit...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Adanmar fires the arrow toward the second vine blight, the first arrow lodged itself in its chest and it seems to almost recoil in pain. However, the second arrow cuts it off as it slices along a vine and the whole creature unravels into a pile of bloody vines.
This brings us to the first, feminine vine blight’s turn. It slowly turns its head to Grim and he locks eyes with it’s cold, empty sockets. A winded and pained female voice escapes from the the creature, “Grim...? Is that you...? My... sweet... baby... It’s been... so long...” However, as the voice says that, it changes, this time to a darker, hungrier, more masculine voice, “She’s right, it’s been too long. You should join her. Let’s fix that!” It cries as it’s arm unravels into long, snake-like vines that lash out at Grim. Attack: 10 Damage: 11 bludgeoning damage. The attack catches Grim off guard and the vines wrap around his entire body, constricting him. “Yes..! Yes..! I will wait no longer for my satisfaction!”
Grim, it’s your turn. You are currently restrained.
