Davian thanks you all and ponders at Grim’s request, “Not particularly, no. However, we do have a variety of tools here, and though they are more suited to barrels, wine, and such, you are more than welcome to use them.”

The MistBusters, rested and set for adventure once more, leave at dawn. The trail through the thick woods leads to a hill covered with dead grass and cairns of black rock. Dark, ominous clouds gather high above, and a single bolt of lightning strikes the hilltop. West of the hill, the land, the woods, and the sky vanish behind a towering wall of fog.

Once you get within thirty feet of the cairn, you can feel the presence of what the voiced whispered in your ear. In a haze, you rip up each of the stones of the cairn. Beneath you, you now see the long dead bones of a human clutching an ancient and sturdy spear covered in dried blood.
As Grim is looking around the hill, observing for any danger, his eyes trail to a notable landmark. At the peak, at least four hundred feet above you, a long, gnarled bough stretches out across the hazy morning sky. Creatures move about its branches. Dark sap seems to drip as far as Grim can tell. Grim can hear the screams. He can smell the blood. He can feel the flames. A single thunderbolt crackles across the sky, contrasting behind its blackened bark. He knows what this is.
Grim tightens his grip on the staff, and gives a slightly frightened look at the tree. "Well I'll be damned," Grim says quietly, "There's the tree right there. Any suggestions?"
"George George," George tell thin air. "George happy George meet Zan'tar."
George look Grim. "George find Zan'tar spear," George say Grim. George introduce Grim, Zan'tar: "Grim, Zan'tar. Zan'tar, Grim. Zan'tar, Grim want kill Strahd. Grim, Zan'tar want kill Strahd. George sure you get along."
~~"This is a card of power and strength. It tells of a weapon of vengeance: a sword of sunlight..." She moves to flip the rightmost card, revealing a bearded man in the shadow of a large tree. "The five of glyphs, Druid... An evil tree grows atop a hill of graves where the ancient dead sleep. The ravens can help you find it. Look for the treasure tree..”~~
Because George is Zan’tar’s chosen, he gains +2 to Damage and to Hit with the Blood Spear, and I’ll allow instant attunement.
((Those people we met were werereavens. George has had a voice talking in his head, probably in a private chat, and since we journeyed to this hill we found the evil tree we have to kill.))
So, to recap, the hill is about four hundred feet high. You’re currently at the 200 feet marker. The tree is atop the hill at Y4. However, you cannot see what else is at the top of the hill from this current vantage point. Cairns litter this level of the hill. What’s the plan here? Continue to ascend?

The Revenant steps closer to the Monk laying one hand on his shoulder "Hey Grim, its ok, don't lose yourself now that we are so close to the point, I didn't know exactly what this Evil Tree did to your family but we have the possibility to fix that here and there, come on man, pull yourself together, we are the Mistbusters and Big George already took his Axe"
((Adanmar is ready and willing to climb, on top of that, Perception: 14))
If we're heading up the hill - are there things to hide behind or shadows etc? Elwarith will tap Adanmar on the shoulder and point up the hill then try to fade off in to the shadows...

"It's decided, we rest, and then we hit the road first light then" Bry took another drink from the wine bottle and handed it back to Elwarith.
Elwarith is in a particularly foul mood, he dislikes the rain, he dislikes this land, and he certainly dislikes dying.....
