So, atop Yester Hill, home of the Gulthias tree and its druids, the MistBusters catch their breath. You all take a short rest. The matter of the Gulthias Tree still looms to the side of you.

That is correct, Adanmar, the Sunsword is with a evil tree. Probably that one.

Adanmar Windblood

Adanmar comes out of his unconsciousness with a loud gasp "Woah, better than the last time ahahah" He gazes around noticing all the Mistbusters still alive, the statue turned to ashes and all the berserkers and the druids gone, as well as Strahd.

He grunts "Good job guys, well done. but hey, did you see that? I blow up his head and in a blink,  it turns back all in one piece, that shit, next time I will hit him when it doesn't regrow..."

When he stands up (Hit dice healing 34HP), swatting the dust from his clothes, he stares at the top of the Hill than turns to Grim

"It should be the big-bad-tree isn't it? Let's go there and found what we came for"

As Adanmar examines the hill, at the south end of the hilltop is a sickly copse, a grove of dead trees and shrubs with a huge, misshapen tree at its core. Blood oozes like sap from its twisted trunk. Embedded in the tree is a shiny battleaxe, beneath which lies a humanoid skeleton. A raven flies down and begins pecking at the ground beneath the skeleton.

The Fortune words echoing in Adanmar's mind, he approaches the skeleton "What are you doing blackbird?" he mutters while checking nearby

It seems to be a normal raven as it lacks the intelligence of a lycanthrope.  However, it seems to be incessantly pecking at the dirt. It’s almost like it’s trying to dig.

Adanmar digs where the Raven does

Moving the skeleton, you assist the the raven in digging. It takes a moment, but you do feel something metallic. You tug, but it holds. You dig a bit more to try to clear the obstruction, but it looks as though it is tangled, no, held by roots. As your fingers brush against them, your mind is filled with a thousand voices, some in a whisper, some in a scream, but all united in one voice, “I... hunger... I will have... my satisfaction... my meal... shall be complete... Darkstone... shall satisfy me...”

Bry joins Adanmar, at his digsite, "Seen any apples or anything, I could use a snack. Looks like you're tangled in some roots there" Bry summons a firebolt, "Want some help removing them?"

Adanmar unsheathe his Shortsword and start cuts the roots

The roots are abnormally tough. It’s like cutting rotten bark, and the blade can easily get caught in them. However, with enough time, you can pierce them. You think you could grab the sword hilt now.

"Thanks Bry but", Adanmar grunts "I...think....uhm....I finished..." 

With a tug, the hilt comes free. Howeve, it is clearly evident that this is only a hilt. It looks like the blade was snapped off long ago, leaving only the hilt and crossguard. The roots seem to curl and reach for it like worms wiggling to the surface. Nothing dangerous, just unnerving.

"And here the Sw....wait...ok...no cheers guys, its only the hilt, ahahah"
