MistBusters - A Curse of Strahd PbP

Bry nods slowly, but steadily...then shakes his head. "What does that Wand do?"

“It focuses magic. My apologies, I attempted to Polymorph you. You startled me, as I was unaware that Elwarith brought allies along with him. It is a pleasure, Ken-Dahli. As I said, anxiety gets the best of me here.”

"Oh, so you are a magic user. Interesting. I just blow stuff up that tries to eat me. Your trick is cooler. So what's your story, fill me in"

Kasimir looks conflicted, but concedes as he takes a seat once more. “As you likely know, my name is Kasimir Velikov and I am one of the last remaining Dusk Elves of this realm.  As I told Elwarith but moments ago, I seek to revive my sister using the magic of this temple. She was killed by a traitor of my kin, Rahadin. He is Strahd’s adoptive brother, as well as his chamberlain. I am ashamed to say that it was for the best, as she was taken by the devil’s deceptive charm.”

Elwarith will let Adanmar make his own appearance from the dark (hopefully less surprising than Bry's was hehe) and he'll go outside to retrieve Grim and George.

"I have found our dusk elf....make no sudden moves, he seems jumpy still....almost turned Bry in to a turtle..though in reality he was asking for it...." and he'll chuckle at that thought

In the meantime, Adanmar. The name Rahadin sounds familiar. A chilling moment of deja vu. You’re unsure of exactly how or why, however.

The Revenant comes out of the shadows announcing himself clearing his throat loudly "Ehm...hold your spells Elf, and I am Adanmar Windblood, we are the Mistbusters, other three of us are nearby,  well met Kasimir...I have to admit that...Rahadin?...mh....the name seems familiar, anyhow, the Old Vistani's fortune seemed on point til now so....do you mind help us against Strahd? I don't know what are you looking for here but maybe the Mistbusters could be of some help" He turns to his companions to see if they agree...

((That’s correct, Adanmar, he has agreed to help you if you help him revive his sister.))

So Elwarith brings George and Grim in, while Adanmar steps forth from the shadows. “Well, you do certainly have some friends. We just might survive this hell.” Kasimir lays down a map, “If we are to reach the inner sanctum of this place. We’re here in this leftmost room with the hay bales. We will first need to pass the statue, here.” He points to the center. “I watched one of the barbarians have a hole blown in him by a ray, then rise as an undead horror moments later.”

"Who are these Barbarians? You seem to know the temple very well Elf, guide us and we will bring you to the Inner Sanctum"

The barbarians look similar to the ones that you encountered on Yester Hill, “I do not know who these barbarians are exactly. They hid in this room. When I entered, they fell upon me, and I retaliated. As for this temple, I only know what I have managed to scout out. I’m afraid anything past this will be beyond my knowledge.”

Would anyone care to explore any portion of the temple? If you’d like to split up, you may. If you’d like to explore as a group, majority will rule for brevity’s sake.

(( I don't think splitting the party up is a good idea - but also slightly concerned about the large statue that burned a hole through one of the barbarians ))

"Kasimir, is there something in this temple that you require to save your sister?  I just like to know what I'm putting my neck on the line for before blindly stumbling through ancient ruins in this god forsaken land."

“Yes, there is. I know this for certain. I can understand your hesitation, and I will not ask you to risk your life for me. However, you must understand that this takes priority for me. I cannot help you unless I first revive my sister.”

"So it seems that...we have to reach...the basement?" The Revenant looks at the map "There are some stairs here" He points to a room above the one with the statue "How can we go there? We could avoid the blasting statue with these corridors maybe, what do you think?"

“That’s correct. Perhaps if we take the rightmost set of corridors, then we could reach the north room without engaging the statue. Alternatively, we could travel up from this room. I discovered a staircase near here, but I am unsure if it leads to the same point in the temple.”

"I am always in favor of heading downwards" Bry says with a smirk.

Davmorn stifles a chuckle, and Kasimir nods, “Glad to hear I have your support, Bry Ken-Dahli. Which way do you think? Right or Left?”

I would go right as you suggest, hoping to not get caught by one of those beams"

"Yea, I don't feel like dieing again so soon. So whichever way I don't get vaporized by a statue would be great"
