(Yoric, roll initative -- you can come in on the next round.)
Aleksei nods intently and offers you a rare smile. "You got some balls on you, halfling. I understand why Admiral Garrock put you onto this thing to find me. I'll be alright. After all, I can climb, yeah? I'll see you and your friends there."
You notice as he moves towards the back hatch he shifts into a spider and scurries down the hatch and the side of the building.

Thalion clenches his eyes shut and pinches the bridge of his nose as he watches their plans unravel through the window. Alden had gotten himself into real trouble and there was no time to waste.
First he runs up to the gangplank and puts his shortbow on his back as he does. It was a good spot for shooting his bow, but he saw that Alden had used the flat of his blade and for whatever reason didn't want these guards killed. So with shortsword in hand he jumps off the gangplank in hopes of landing behind the goliath, shouting, "For the Redwood Forest!" in elvish as he does.
Nevlav watched the unfolding scene with more and more trepidation. He did not fully understand the situation since he was not sure if the words between the two watchmen but his jaw dropped when Alden attacked. The Half-Elf had always seemed so reasonable, what was he thinking?
Nevlav ran with Thalion and Yoric to the plank, "Alden, have you lost your mind? What do you think you are doing? Stop this, the lot of you right now!" Regardless of his request he slid his shield on but kept his weapon hand empty and started to move to Alden and Stairclimber to attempt to try and stop the brawl for now.

Thalion, your leap is very impressive at first, and as you are in the air, you envision doing a series of cool flips and landing behind the Goliath. Unfortunately, this distracts you enough that as you fly through the air, your form becomes atrocious, and rather than landing the flips and doing a cool landing, you flail about in the air for a few seconds and instead land right between Alden and Stairclimber.
Meanwhile Corin follows you out Nevlav, his hands raised high in the air. "I am not resisting, I ain't. I'm not with these folks. 'onestly, I barely know them." He announces loudly to the room, walking slowly to the three city guards keeping his arms raised skyward.
The city guards stare at what's going on, wide-eyed, pausing, until Stairclimber bellows at them. "Take them down!"
The guards each choose an available target -- city watch member #1 aims for Alden, #2 aims for Thalion, and # 3 shoots at Grin.
Attack 1 on Alden: 5 Damage: 5
Attack 2 on Thalion: 9 Damage: 8
Attack 3 on Grin: Attack: 16 Damage: 4
THUNK! All three crossbolts are released simultaneously. One bolt strikes Alden perfectly into Alden's shoulder and sticks there, while the second bolt clips Thalion's hip on the way into the wooden hull of the ship. Grin, you are small enough and far enough away that the third bolt comes nowhere near you and sticks into the gangplank of the ship near the bottom.
In your dazed and dizzy state, Alden, with blood flowing into your eyes, your attack is clumsy enough for Stairclimber to simply sidestep it. He then tries to bring the handle of his flail down onto the base of your neck in order to incapacitate, but not kill, you.
Attack: 13 Damage: 6
The blow just catches you Alden, as your momentum takes you past Stairclimber, and you drop to the floor, unconscious
(Since Stairclimber was trying to knock you out and not kill you, you are stable, but unconscious unless one of your allies heals you -- you do not need to make Death Throws.)
"Huh!" The Goliath grunts, looking at Alden's crumpled, unconscious form then turns toward Thalion as the next closest potential combatant. "You and yer mates haven't done anything yet. Don't let this fool drag you down. If you surrender now, we'll take you and yer friends in peacefully. No one else needs to get hurt. You have my word. Besides, I'll need you lot as witnesses for ex-Inspector Lostchild's trial."
Grin guffaws at the attempt of intimidation by the Goliath. After a few moments of laughter she wipes a year and moves to check on Alden. "We are witnesses, I can attest to that. Quite the wallop you gave him, he'll need immediate attention. Can't believe he attacked you so hastily..."

Yoric comes out with hands up. “I’m sorry, I don’t think I understand what’s happened here.”
He’ll try to move up next to Stairclimber, and face the inspector and Thalion.
”Ah. I think I understand. You see, we recently helped out one Captain Graddor with an infestation of cultists in the Yellow Creek Mine. We were rushed here in an attempt to check for any taint left on these men, which I believe you’ll see has spread to poor Thalion there, and must’ve gotten to the Inspector as well. Awfully generous considering we failed in our mission to capture an old cult of the knife commander. Unfortunate, really. But Lady Raskiel was still glad of the efforts! Even gave me her husband’s old pipe as a -personal - reward.” He shows the pipe. “I’ll be happy to tell you all about it in quarantine, but I’d very much like it if someone could help the poor inspector and Thalion there.”
Stairclimber looks suitably confused by your fast talking, Yoric. "Wait--- that's not what I was told. What is going on here?" He exhales in frustration and steps back from Thalion and Alden. "So, you failed to find the traitor's boy, eh? "Murdoc -- search the bloody ship. If Artur Felix is on board bring him to me." One of the watch nods and rushes to board the ship while the other two keep their crossbows trained on the group.
Stairclimber scratches his head, clearly trying to puzzle out the situation and you can see thinking about it is a struggle for the big Goliath. "Now, you, Mr. Silvertongue mentioned quarantine, and I think that's a very sensible attitude. You, your friend here who fell off the gangplank, the lady, and my pal Alden here are going downstairs into quarantine for the next seven days with the rest of the riff raff." He looks at Chief Brightaxe, clearly not expecting his presence. I wasn't given any orders for you, dwarf. I'm putting you into quarantine as well. I'm also impounding this ship pending a full investigation into this Yellow Creek business on our end."
Brightaxe seems about to protest, but settles for glaring fiercely at Yoric.
Seeing Nevlav approach, the Goliath's whole manner changes and he seemingly becomes much more subservient. "You must be Sir Nevlav, good gnome. It is TRULY a pleasure sir, and it is my privilege to be doing a service for your mum. We have a private carriage downstairs to take you to her estate in the Park District where you can wait out the mandatory quarantine. Lady Euphemia is most eager to avoid a scandal, and I, of course, am only too happy to be of service." He seems about to bow and remove his plague mask when he realizes he's still fairly close to Thalion, so instead he straightens up to his full height and offers Nevlav a rigid salute.
Thalion spends most of the time it takes for the others to speak trying to bring himself back up to his feet. The only thing that was really wounded was his pride - and his hip. His shortsword lay on the ground as he stands and he makes no move for it. Instead he just quietly seethes, fighting the voice in his head telling him to rip the guards apart with his bare hands.
He certainly didn't look stable, twitching as he forces his hands to remain still. Either he was a very good actor and going along with Yoric's speech or he was suffering from something... unnatural.
The members of the watch and Stairclimber both notice Thalion's twitching and his peculiar movements and you notice that all three of them remaining are slowly backing away from the group -- the two city watch guards are almost inside the doorway now -- and they look scared.
Yoric will move to Brightaxe and loudly says “I say, stand back! You can clearly see he’s not well!” And escorts Brightaxe a short distance away.to make like he’s assisting Brightaxe, and whispers to him: “they will kill you and me and everyone if they hear the truth. I didn’t foresee this, but I will make it up to you.”
Corin Brightaxe looks at you and nods, just until you let go of him, and once you're clear, he immediately raises his hands again and begins rushing over to the watch. "'elp! I ain't got nothing to do with these people, 'onest I don't."
Unfortunately for the dwarf, the guards, already on edge from Thalion's diseased performance, see the dwarf acting erratically and they panic -- one of them tackles him and pins him to the ground. "Stay down! Stay down!" They scream, as they hold him down.
Stairclimber grimaces, then turns back to Nevlav. "My colleagues can take these gentlemen downstairs. May I escort you to the carriage we have waiting for you, sire?"
"Uh, uh," Nevlav takes a cautious step back. "I won't be going anywhere, I say. I am no sir and I deserve no extra treatment from these comrades. I want nothing from my mother I can assure you that and you can tell her you tried your hardest."
Nevlav moved to help with carrying Alden.

Alden
Alden, hurt, bleeding half smiles to himself. "This seems to be close to it." he mutters to himself about some odd bit of knowledge.
Alden will attack Stairclimber again:
Hit: 7
Damage: 8
Secondary Damage: 6
Alden will attempt to keep the goliath between him and the archers, using him as a improvised shield if he can.
