Bilick will peer at the golden dome curiously, totally ignoring the Yuan-Ti as she wanders off, so engrossed with the mystery in front of him. Like Kendrick, he reaches out to touch it, then thinks better of it, tapping it with his yew wand instead. "Nae. I can't say that I remember this being here when I was a nipperkin. Looks like some kinda powerful magic, it does."
Seeing Bilick contact the golden shield with an item, Kendrick watched the effect carefully. If there is no negative reaction, he will go ahead and try to touch the shield.

(If you want to investigate the shield, give me an Arcane roll)
The shield feels like stone, somewhat like polished marble, but it is gold in color.
There are lots of people around. Some look like they are just passing through, others are street vendors that have probably seen everything that has gone on in recent days.
There is an Inn near by called The Beggar's Axe. It is located on Drunkard's Chase. The street outside is filled with a sense of dark foreboding. The inn is a single story stone building, with a single salvaged stone wall and roughly hewn wooden tables and benches.
Tella ignores Purbag and continues into the Dragon District, while looking for a somewhere to preform at.

(OK, that's definitely a fail, I'll just look around instead)
Tella finds herself lost in the shopping district of The Bridged City. With all the buildings looking the similar, and the streets being so narrow and winding, she doesn't know where she is in relationship to the Academy anymore.
Kendrick touches the golden shield and, when he feels its unyielding surface, raps it smartly to see if it sounds like a thin or a thick solid object. He comments to the druid, "I have no skill with magic, Bilick," says Kendrick, "and there wasn't much call for golden walls of stone on shipboard, but Tella may have an idea if you don't--hey, where is she, anyway?" Looking around a bit, he thinks back to the scene at the entrance to the city and says, "I suppose she does wander off, doesn't she. Let's get some lunch from these street vendors and maybe see what they have seen."
Kendrick follows his nose to a nearby stall that smells like the food is good and orders up some of the local cuisine, asking the vendor, "So, what's with the golden wall?"

Bilick looks to Kendrick, clearly bewildered. "Yer guess is as good as mine, lad. Without our wizard, we dinnae have a chance of figgerin' this dome out wit'out help. Ye chat to the vendors and I'll head over to yonder inn. Got to wet my whistle, ye ken? If our elven lady came through this area, chances are she stayed there. Osso, Purbag, either of ye care to join me? I'll buy the first round.
Regardless of their answer, Bilick will amble over to the Beggar's Axe find a few stools, and buy a round of drinks.
Hearing his name, he turns to face his dwarven kin only to see him walking towards the inn already. He rushes to catch up. He speaks in dwarven - "Weird thing this wall. I have never seen anything like it. I suppose it's there to keep things out, but what if it's to keep things in."The question is innocent enough, but the thought sets his mind racing. He follows Bilick into the bar and graciously accepts the drink.
"Smoked rat!" one of the street vendors shouts. "Kiln dried smoked rat!"
"This golden shield? There was some real craziness going on here. Flashes of light from inside the academy, explosions. One of my loyal patrons saw the stone walls turn pink, and then polka-dotted. Soon after that, this shield went up. Since then, it's been pretty normal out here. I don't know what's going on inside, and I don't think I want to know, but there's this guy who's been trying to get inside. He must be a little touched in the head, if you know what I mean."
Inside the Beggar's Axe Several battered shields hang on the walls. Accommodations consist of a single large room with wooden cots. The innkeeper is a tall female elf named Elel. On the menu is:
1. Barley Porridge, Mug of Stout (4 cp) 2. Boiled Mutton and Lentils, Tankard of Cider (10 cp) 3. Vegetable Stew, Mug of Cider (4 cp) 4. Buckwheat Bread and Curd Cheese, Mug of Cider (5 cp) 5. Stewed Carrot, Mug of Stout (5 cp) 6. Pottage, Mug of Perry (5 cp)
Patrons are:
1. A male halfling with straight black hair and hazel eyes, and a messy mustache. He wears leather armor and has at his side a club and darts. 2. A female Elf. She is short, with braided gray hair and large amber eyes. She wears leather armor and has a short sword and dagger.
Kendrick slides a few silver over to the street vendor, saying, “Tell me about this guy who is trying to get inside the shield.. What’s his name? What does he look like? Where is he?” Each question is accompanied by a silver coin.

Tella, after getting lost in the Dragon District, finds that she has made a complete circle and is right back where she started, and the Beggar's Axe Inn.
"Ahh, can have mutton please? "He says as graciously as he can to the tall elven lady. He keeps his eyes averted from hers, almost like a school boy with a crush. He hand over the 10cp sheepishly then takes a seat in the common room to wait for his order.
Bilick will purchase a round of drinks for the bar, throwing in an extra silver for the bartender for her troubles. Almost casually, he will mention the golden wall around the Academy.
He whistles. "Seems to be interesting times, eh? Never seen aught like it in me time in the Bridged City." Bilick takes a long drink of his porter then leans in conspiratorially to Elel. "Lot o' strange folks around too. Me and me mates hereare looking for one of 'em. Elf, pale as the moonlight, look of pure anger in her eyes," he says, recalling the youth's description of her not too long ago. "Ye haven't seen her about, have ye?"
"Ah, you speak my language," the street vendor says looking at Kendrick's coin. "The man's name is Dain Ironheart. He's a cleric for Hire. You know when the guards men read a "Zone of Truth" scroll? Guess who makes those scrolls for them. You can find Dain at a small shrine to Goran in the Southern Quarter of the Bridged City."
"The mutton, of course," Elel says to Osso. Her brightly colored garments sways with her as she moves in close. "What brings a strong dwarf like you to the Bridged City?"
Elel gets a round for the bar. "That's 2 silver and 5 copper for the ale." Elel smiles and winks "...and a silver for me? How generous." Elel touches Bilick's wrist as she takes the coin. "An Elf with pure anger in her eyes? Sounds like nothing but trouble." Elel steps back and puts her elbows on the bar shelves behind her. "Why would you be interested in a nasty Elf like that when you have this Elf right in front of you?"
"A room is 7 copper for an hour." Elel says to Tella, and then looks around the room. "Are you expecting someone to follow you up? If you want me to send someone your way, I want half of the take." Elel gives her a nod and a wink.
Kendrick goes into the inn and sits down with the group, taking a deep draw from the tankard of ale before sharing his news, "There's a cleric of Goran named Dain Ironheart who has been trying to figure a way to get through that shield--apparently he is a scroll-maker as well. He has a small shrine in the Southern Quarter of the city." Looking around at the others drinking Bilick's generosity, Kendrick asks, "Has our wandering mage made an appearance yet?"

If it is later in the day Purbag would want to rest, as the long journey on the road is tiring. He will drink the ale purchased by Bilick and down another two of his own.

Bilick will look at the female elf suspiciously. Not inclined to trust anyone, he will try to figure out exactly why she is being so overly friendly.
