(Rat) "We better follow them as well" Once we catch up with the others, I'll have my snake familiar slither up the same hole and I'll keep using the "use senses" activity of Find Familiar to try to see what's in there and map the pyramid for a bit.
The familiar enters a dimly lit hallway. Snakes are carved on the wall. Two cultists are standing in the hallway, talking quietly. They make a slight bow as the snake familiar passes by. Then the hall turns to the left. In the new passage, there is a closed door on the right. Further down the hall is an open door. Chanting can be heard inside. The cultists in there are speaking Draconic. Three of them kneel before a statue of a winged serpent. Beyond that, Rat loses contact with his familiar because it is out of range.
(Rat) Once the familiar goes out of range, I snap my fingers and send it to its pocket dimension. I will then follow the rest of the group back to town and rest (that was the plan, right?)
Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.
In the morning, traders set up there stalls and start advertising their wares. Out of the jungle come several tribal warriors mounted on triceratops. The tribal people are trading with the merchants. It is almost like a large market. Each of you witness the exchange of countless goods.

Hopes of buying dinosaur mounts other than the two options above are out of the question (especially for T-Rex, though none of those are here).

(Rat) I will approach one of the merchants selling velociraptors and inquire on their intended use, them being tiny beasts. (OOC: also, how much money do we have?)

I forgot to mention this in the descriptive text. I meant to tell you that the velociraptors are bigger than normal ones. Their size is medium.

Suddenly, a woman screams for help. A giant constrictor snake (its size is gargantuan instead of huge) bursts from the jungle, crushing her and her stall. Then a yuan-ti malison (Type 2) emerges from the jungle also. The snake continues to crush more stalls and people. The yuan-ti is commanding the snake.

OOC: Do they have 11 (2d8+2) hit points, by any chance?

"Well, obviously we have to prevent it. Anyone know any good armies?"

I headed back with the others to take a rest as well. I also mark the location of the temple on one of my waterproof maps.
No, I don't know any armies. We are the armies, fighting a small-scale* war.
*pun intended
