Rex, with his 19 Strength, will go hoist some hocks off the hooks.

Just before you enter the room with the meat, Hatchling reminds you to be careful, he almost got poked by some spiky things hanging from some leather strips leading into it.

You manage to get the meat back to the talking stalactite. Upon seeing the meat, the stalactite's tentacles start quivering.

"And...there's more of this? Where? I've grown tired of waiting around for only what the dogs won't eat!"

Rex points to where he got the meat, “Right back there, mind the spikes. Plus, if you start looking around, this whole cave is littered with fresh bodies.”

"Ya, it's literally a buffet in here at this point."

"My thanks, new management."

With that, the stalactite moves out of the room and goes, presumably, in search of more things to eat. What do you do now?

With that, the dragonborn releases all tension in body with a sigh, “Welp. That was close. Glad we’re on his side for now.” Remind me, is this the egg area yet? Or are we still on the way.

The drakes were in the area with the eggs, presumably as their guards.

Perfect! So the area should be clear now, yes?

[Aren't the drakes still a going concern?]

[I believe they were mauled by our new friend?]

Fjordix had been eyeing the eggs since they had opened the gates, and the drakes were dispatched of. He walked over to the them, taking them in, "So this is how those vile things are born, not in some arcane ceremony, or natural disaster, not born of magic at all. But simply as a duck would be" his hands wrought the haft of his weapon. "With this act I begin to enact revenge for those I lost" he raised his weapon and brought it down on one of the eggs!

OOC: I have honestly forgot whether we were supposed to bring these back, but Fjordix wouldn't do that anyways. Not sure if I need to make any sort of roll to destroy the eggs or not.

Rex would like to hold out an arm to try an delay him for a moment, “Wait! Fjordix, I get what this means to you, but do you mind if I try something first?”

[No roll is needed. These eggs are pretty fragile and you can assume success on any attempt to break and/or open them. Is Fjordix waiting for Rex, or is he smashing an egg?]

OOC: Fjordix will definitely smash the first egg, but will give Rex time to speak before moving on to the next. I don't want to assume that smashing the egg is like, done, so I wait to respond to Rex's message until it's confirmed that the egg is smashed and it didn't explode or something lol

As the egg is smashed and blood splattered, Rex wipes a smudge off his face, “Thanks.” Rex will then extend his hands out and cast Detect Thoughts desire to listen to the minds of the wyrmlings.

Fjordix narrows his eyes at Rex as he watches him cast the spell, but then watches as it doesn't manifest any spectacular destruction on the eggs. "You know what they say, you can't make an omelette without cracking a few eggs. Now what is that you are doing?"

“Proselytizing.” Rex mutters as he focuses on the spell. Through this, and his own telepathy, he should be able to telepathically speak with the eggs.
