"Well that could have gone better. At least you were able to grab the pearl. That decoy should keep them busy while we slip out of here." As the party prepares to leave the unruly mob behind Norge turns to Beyanna, "Hey Bey. That pearl seemed to glow a bit as it went under the water. Do you have some sort of magicky thing you can try to see if it has some sort of special powers?"
Bey winces as she watches Jakob emerge from the disgusting water, wishing that she knew a cantrip to clean him up. Answering Norge’s inquiry, she says with a sly smile, “As it just so happens, my friend, I do have a particular magicky thing in my head that could reveal such a thing.” Whispering a few quick phrases in her articulate voice, Beanna casts Detect Magic.
She then asks Mith, ”Those other kobolds said that the healing slime can be found at the end of the sewer pipe, where it drains into the swamp. That’s where we need to go.”
The group gets moving North down the tunnel, leaving much of the commotion of The Falls behind them. After a few hundred feet Jakob spots a small nook he is able to duck behind and try to clean himself up a bit and get dressed. With the help of Azure he is able to wash some of the filth away with the help of his water skin but even after he is dressed, the smell of waste remains... filling his nostrils and even stinging his eyes a bit. While Jakob is getting dressed, Bey takes the time to cast her spell and the pear does shed a very faint glow, giving you the indication that it is indeed magical. The further away you get from The Falls, the fewer kobolds you see fishing or scavenging. The torches lining the long stone tunnel are far and in-between, making it hard for anyone without dark vision to see when not near one. The sound of falling water echos through the tunnel and you pass a number of small tunnels that if you were to crouch down you could squeeze into. Mith knows where many of them lead, being somewhat familiar with the sewers and having had a number of conversations with Bog. She is the one kobold you know that has squeezed her way into every inch of the sewers and likes to tell tales of her discovers. After about what seems like fifteen minutes of walking along the stinking stream, you find a large iron grate blocking your path. The grate fills the entire tunnel and is covered with spiderwebs and moss hanging from the vertical and horizontal bars. Looking through the grate, you notice that it is completely black on the other side. There are no more torches lit past this metal barrier. There is a heavy rusted metal door directly in front of you with a thick lock. Mith would know that Bog was the keeper of the key to this lock. Above the door is a wooden sign with draconic text etched on the front.

"Don't worry Jakob. I've handled a locked door or two in my day." Norge takes a few steps back, plants his feet, get a running start, and charges into the door shoulder first.
Strength/Athletics: 11
OOC: And if that fails...
"Ouch. Ok, maybe lock picking tools are required." Norge immediately grips his mace with both hands and swings it at the lock with all his might.
Damage: Attack: 13 Damage: 5
OOC: The modification is because I mistakenly had a standard attack roll forgetting that if you use the combat tab of the dice tool it does an attack roll for you. I deleted the incorrect attack roll.
Jakob jumps out of the way as Norge charges forward, his face registering surprise.
(If the charge fails.) Then, as the younger human starts hammering on the lock with his weapon, the old man reaches out. "Er, Norge. I'm not sure that's a good idea. This gate is here for a reason."
(If it succeeds.) Jakob looks a little pained as the door swings open. He looks at Mith. "We'll get this fixed as soon as we can."

Azure watches over the group keeping an eye on their surrounding and using his shield to give additional light. He loved water, everywhere he'd ever swam regardless of the condition or smell, but in this place he just felt... off. He didn't like that feeling and it worried him. He was a bit on edge, unable to comprehend fully the swarming of the kobolds back where they had entered. He settled himself by deciding to watch the group's back while they worked on the gate.
Bey stands out of the way and gives Norge a wide berth as he prepares to charge forward and attempt to break the gate open with his shoulder. She joins Azure as they keep their eyes trained on the sewers behind them.
"I'm not feeling especially confident that this is the best solution. Hopefully Mith knows someone on the other side who can open it for us. If not, we'll have to backtrack and find this place from the other side. Mith, do you know where this comes out at the swamp?"
As norge charges the metal door, a loud clank echoes loudly through the the entire tunnel. The fighter is knocked backwards and some of the hinges seem to have bent a bit, the door still stands. A moment later Norge pulls out his mace and brings it down hard against the metal lock holding the door shut. The weapon fails to dislodge the lock but does dent the face. you get the impression that even if you had a key it might not fit inside the lock any longer.
Mith, Azure, and Bey stand behind Jakob and Norge. As both Jakob and Bey try to discuss another plan of action with Norge... Mith, Bey, and Azure each notice a few figures moving in the distance beyond the gate. One of the figures is much taller than the others and is very hard to make out. The others all appear to be the size of kobolds. They do not turn and look towards you and continue to move away into the complete darkness.
Azure also notices that one of the metal barrs of the grate is badly rusted and bent to the point that it could potentially be torn off and used as a crowbar for trying to remove the lock or pry open the metal door.
"Ok that definitely went much better in my head. Doors usually open right up with a little concussive maintenance. Anyone else have an idea of how to get through?"
Mith lets the other's know what he say. "A tall man is headed away with what looks like some kobold's! We need to get through this gate." He says excitedly. "Can we pry it open or something!"
Azure will point out the rusted bar to the others and use Shape water to fill the lock with water and freeze it breaking the lock open. "That should make it easier now. Let's catch up to them quickly." He adds.
Jakob watches as the others continue with the destruction of the gate. He makes a few faces and utters a couple sounds of surprise and regret, but doesn't actually impede their actions.
Azure pulls water from the sewer and fills the dented lock before freezing it solid inside. Some of the dents created by the mace pop out as the pressure inside the lock builds. The lock is very badly damaged and barley hanging on.
(OOC: Will need an athletics check if wanting to pry off the bar to use as a crowbar to help with your rolls, or will need another athletics check to try to break the lock, or an athletics check to break the door... I would say Azure is already helping with destroying the lock so any attack rolls or atheltics checks against it can be made with advantage.)
"Ok I'm game for letting Bey have a shot at it. If she doesn't get it I want round 2 with that lock though. That lock and I have a score to settle!" Norge furrows his brow and looks menacingly at the lock.

Azure will use the transit time to methodically clean Jakob using Shape Water attempting to remove the grimy sludge and stench.

Draconic text:
Danger! Authorized personnel only!
Jakob grasps one of the bars and looks at the others. "Anyone happen to know how to pick locks?"
It looks something like this... except the door is off to the side and the water is deeper...

Mith moved along the passages with the others at ease in the sewers. When they reached the gate her called out through it in Draconic
"Hey Bog! You down here eh?"
