Leon moves to the water's edge and examines it closely, waving his torch over the water as he looks down into it, trying to see if anything can be seen under the water.
Indeed, there was something there. Or, better say, someone - Leon clearly saw two gigantic eyes that were staring at him, and a moment later water exploded spitting out a giant frog.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The frog clearly was more used to slower or easier to frighten prey. ( 21 ) When Ramious jumped on it and hugged it's leg, creature managed to set itself free, but only to get under absolutely devastating hit of Leon's sword. It was almost dead when few sparkles Alyssa's ended it's life for good. If Cinder so wanted - giant frog legs were ready to be hacked out.
There was no treasure at the bottom of the pool. Clean fresh water allowed to see it all, though now you could tell it's deeper than initially looked.
With the area somewhat safer now, Leon starts pulling supplies from his pack. "I am going to call forth Striker again." He explains to the group as he places a small brass brazier on the ground. He fills it with charcoal, incense, and herbs, then lights it. Speaking words of magic, he concentrates on the ritual for an hour, before a shape begins to form in the smoke from the brazier. A moment later an owl's hoot sounds in the chamber, and the familiar form of Leon's familiar flaps its wings and makes a slow circuit of the room before landing on his shoulder.
“Oh okay. Guess it’s break time.” Alyssa would blink before starting to dust off her equipment. Then she’d take a seat on the ground to watch Leon perform his magic. It’s a ritual she was familiar with, but it’s always interesting to watch the way someone else summons and performs their magic. The elf would pull out her journal and begin sketching and noting for the length of her rest.
Ramious also turns his attention to Leon, watching him as he performs his ritual. "Say, Leon, you seem like a warrior....but....you can use magic. Can anyone learn magic? I think knowing some magic would be pretty great...you could do anything...."

Cinder considers hacking away the frog legs for a snack, but then decides against it - who knows where those legs have been? Besides, she has some runes to recharge, and now seems like the opportune time to do so.
As she straightens up from over the frog's corpse, Cinder turns around to see Ramious smiling at her. Her brows pull together and her hair flickers in slight confusion. Ramious staring at her butt, that she could understand. But he actually didn't seem to be doing that, and his smile seemed more genuine. Almost... friendly? She turns the thought over in her head briefly and takes a closer, more careful look at the tiefling for the first time. He's scarred, to be sure, and a bit of the silent moody type, she would guess. But, if you could get over the crooked nose and the weapon tattoos, he wasn't all that bad-looking. Definitely someone her mother wouldn't approve of her hanging about with. The thought brings a wide grin to her face, and she gives the tiefling a wink in return.
Turning away from the others, she settles cross-legged with her back against a comfortable rock and closes her eyes, resting her hands loosely on her bent knees. Concentrating, she feels the pulse of the rune against her armor, almost like a heartbeat. Slowly, she begins focus her energy on the rune, breathing in and out, the flames of her hair expanding and contracting in time with her breaths. As she does so, she can feel the warmth of her own life energy slowly recharging the rune, filling it with stored power once more, waiting to be released at her next battle. It's a painstakingly tedious process, but it helps her focus, and fills her with a sense of power independent from that which she can feel on the rune.
Control,Cinder thinks as her eyes slowly open. I like to be in control. The grin returns to her face, along with the power of her runes.
OOC: Added 190 XP to everyone for owlbear and the frog.
An hour has passed uneventfully - Leon summoned back his owl //did he use his hit-dice as well?//, Cinder refreshed her rune. Everyone feels better - "frog's" cave with it's calming pool and clean floor feels almost cozy. The are no suspicious sounds from anywhere, the air is still. Unexplored northern entrance is very quiet.
With the bird returned and the magical ritual complete, Ramious stands up, brushing dust off his butt and hands. In a quiet voice he whispers, "Alright brave adventurers, shall we?" Assuming they assent, he motions to the north tunnel and begins creeping forward.
(He apparently stumbles into the next room and gets a bit of dust in his eyes as he does so...rubbing them with his thick gloves and coughing to clear his throat...)
OOC: True - a one hour ritual should be considered strenuous. But you could rest for two hours? After all, Leon is seriously wounded.
The cave, Ramious fall into, resembles some kind of shrine: there’s an altar and a statue of an ugly, frog-like creature. On the altar are pieces of rotten meat, some coins and small gems. No creatures of any kind around. The most interesting part about that cave is yet another northern exit/corridor - obviously of an artificial origin: straight polished walls, floor and ceiling, right angles, even lanterns (of magical origin - there is no open flame in them). There is a door at the end of the short corridor.

Ramious takes a short rest. He watches Cinder as she walks around, smiling broadly at her whenever they make eye contact.

(Yeah, probably should do the 2-hour rest. Before he sits down to rest though he would use his second wind...)
Second wind hp: 7
Spend 1 hd of fighter: 10
That has him up to full HP again. I updated the sheet.
As they move forward, Leon once more takes up a rear-guard position, following the others forward.
