Alyssa would follow along with her journal out. Spotting the altar, the elf would circle it once or twice before crouching to get a better look at it to try to discern its purpose and to who it may worship. She'd sketch and jot some notes as she'd inspect it and it's offerings. The archaeologist would finish her inspection then stride over to the doorway to take a look at what made it so different compared to the rest of the cave. The elf would rock up onto her tiptoes and back down to the soles of her feet as she investigated the doorway. Of course she'd inspect for traps first before diving into the finer details.
Religion: 5 if needed for the altar Investigation: 17
BG special if it applies: When you enter a ruin or dungeon, you can correctly ascertain its original purpose and determine its builders, whether those were dwarves, elves, humans, yuan-ti, or some other known race. In addition, you can determine the monetary value of art objects more than a century old.
The offerings, some tracks on the ground, the crudeness of work - everything point out toward troglodytes. Most likely, the troglodytes come to worship their god, though Alyssa can not remember his name.
Now, the doorway is something very different from the rest of the cave. There are no words on any language above the door or on the walls. But on the door itself is sort of a sign - and impossible shape that hurts your brain when you try to follow lines (not literally hurt - it's just figurative "pain to look at")
Nothing but that strange sign on the door. You can not remember seeing it before. But you do remember the words of a pessimistic farmer - "they will get lost in the twisting tunnels and never escape.”
Interestingly enough, the door is not locked. It's a bit heavy to push - and occasional small animal should be able to open it - but humanoids can enter freely. Behind the door is the same stone corridor lightened with the same wall-lanterns. Or, better say, three corridors forward, left and right.
Ramious walks forward, pulling a piece of chalk out from a small belt pouch, and draws an arrow in the intersection pointing straight forward. He straightens up and without consulting the group and walks down the center path, trying to stay alert, and scanning the passage for traps.
Ramious takes a moment to examine the dead end. Investigation : 9. Then he quietly sneaks to the right, then peaks to the left around the corner. Assuming he just sees a hallway, he draws an arrow on the ground to the left, and goes that way. He checks behind him to make sure everyone is keeping up.

Most likely others participated in investigations - it was hard to imagine curious Alyssa, impatient Cinder or thorough Leon waiting idly why Ramious was running about.
Immediate surrounding granted same corridors leading somewhere further. Three corridors leading north (one with yet another door), two leading east, and one door to the west (corridor behind led to the darkness of natural caves again).
Cinder watches Alyssa taking notes on the altar. When the girl is done, she walks up to the altar and simply grabs the coins and the gems - "We'll have a better use for these than whatever bastards are worshipping an evil frog god down here. And don't try to tell me it's not evil. When you get into hellholes like this one, they're always evil."
Watching Ramious methodically making his way through the corridors with his chalk and his inspections makes Cinder's fingers twitch. "Seriously?" she says after he leans down to draw yet another chalk arrow on the floor. "You think a huge hydra would fit in these narrow hallways, or bother to open a door? Whatever we're hunting didn't pass through this way. These corridors were made to distract the curious from getting their paid commission. Why are we even in here?"
((Cinder's "merchant eye" told her those coins and gems all together are worth about 50 gp.
And technically 10ft (this how wide the corridor is) could be enough for the hydra to squeeze through, especially considering it's a magical creature of unknown qualities and doors are conveniently should be pushed to be open.))
Ramious sneaks forward to the corner that has the door on the top right. He glances to the right down the passage. Assuming he just sees hallways, he marks an arrow pointing through the door, and pushes the door open, planning to follow the passage on the other side of the door. Ramious looks back at Cinder and smiles to her, in a whisper he responds, "Are you kidding? We're adventurers now. Exploring weird tunnels is pretty much our entire gig. I expect there to be some weird axe traps that swing out from the walls, maybe some darts that shoot out of little holes. Heck, maybe even a ball that rolls down from above and tries to crush us." He seems pleased with himself, almost childlike. "You may start to ask yourself questions like, 'who put this here', or 'why does this even exist', or maybe 'how do these keep working over and over again and why are there no other bodies here'....but it's pointless. Just accept it. You're an adventurer now. We all are."
He turns a back to the tunnel before him and creeps forward, grinning.

"If I'd known we were going to be doing this, I'd have insisted we brought a thief a long for the ride," she grumbles, clearly out of her element (no pun intended).

The door closed behind the group, the corridor went left, then right, turned a couple more times, to end at intersection both sides of which led to the another straight corridor with yet another door at the end of it. Your tracks are still traceable but the pessimism of that farmer, predicting the group will get lost, was getting more understandable. All corridors look alike, aside markings made by Ramious.
Still, there is a feeling you do move, not going in circles. Not yet anyway.

OOC: I would assume everyone followed Ramious to yet another door.
The corridor behind obediently turned north, only to end about 60ft further with a wall. But before group could make it there to check for intersections, everyone heard bones rattling and several skeletons with remnants of armour and still functioning looking weapons stumbled in. The sight of the group made them shriek in excitement and they rushed to meet adventurers menacingly preparing their weapons.
