!!Lost Mine of Phandelver Campaign Thread!!

Previous round, sorry for the delay.

Baeshra summons a bolt down on the ogre, as its the only one still in the cloud and sends some healing Whistler's way.

21 Lightning, DC 15 dex save for half
Healing word: 5

New round same as the last.

9 Lightning, DC 15 dex save for half
Healing word: 5

Hearing the banter between his allies, Baeshra gives a reptilian grin and roars at the owlbear to try and give it some backbone.

Round 3 Continued:

Lyngheid Casts Sanctuary on Whistler as she approaches the fire giant.

Baeshra Summons his lightning and heals Whistler.  The second lightning bolt takes out the Ogre!

Round 4:

Nyx leaps over to the remaining giant while arranging a bet with Umbriel and lands a crossbow bolt and a rapier thrust in quick succession!

Ireniana: TBD

Whistler hears the healing words of Baeshra, and feels an odd protection come over him, but through his Rage doesn't know what it means so he attacks the fire giant (and Sanctuary drops!  Reckless, GWM:  21, 19.  Damage: 19, 23.

Umbriel sends two Eldritch Blasts at the Fire Giant, landing one.

Droop runs over to the Fire Giant, dashing to get there.

The Fire Giant sees everyone converging on him, disengages, and starts running around the clouds to get to the doors to the elevator room.

The party is up!

Umbriel fires off two more Eldritch Blasts and backs up toward the doors to the elevator room afterwards. 

Attack: 23 Damage: 13

Hex: 6

Attack: 25 Damage: 12

Baeshra calls down another bolt at the edge of the storm next to the giant and moves north to keep him in sight.

Call Lightning 17 Dc 15 dex save for half

"This is more my jig..." Nyx hounds the giant as he retreats.

"Tell him we can spare his life Ireniana if he gives us some good info about the mines or the Duke"

OCC: Nyx should have been over more near Whistler after her move to attack the giant so she just follows the giant up and past him 5 feet plus her Mirthful Leap distance of 2. She attacks him on the way past and uses Fancy Footwork so he gets no AoO on her.

Hand Crossbow Attack: 23 Damage: 8

Rapier Attack: 15 Damage: 5

Sneak Attack Damage (as Lyngheid is also engaged)  6

Lyngheid lashed out as the giant passed, her spiritual protectors also digging into the behemoth.

Attack: 15 Damage: 10 + Smite 8

Spiritual Guardians Damage: 7

Ireiniana will move to the fire giant and attack

Eldritch maw Damage - 6

Attack: 10 Damage: 8

That's a lot of hits!  The Fire Giant crumbles to the ground under the onslaught!

We're out of initiative, what's everyone do now?

Baeshra hurries to check out the channel for the water wheel.

"So are we diving into these mines sooner than later? I would just be good to know at least two ways in and out"

OCC: Nyx will search the Giants and Ogre. Investigation  19

Lyngheid follows Baeshra to do what she can to assist.

Ireniana will do the same and assist Lyngheid and Baeshra. 

Umbriel helps Nyx search the bodies, then (because he forgot if he did this already) he'll check the Rod of the Vonindod for any nearby pings.

 The Ogre has pockets full of old meat, definitely past it's prime.

One of the giants has a bag with 1 humanoid skulls and the other you find a coin purse with 36 Gold pieces and 40 silver pieces.

 The wheel looks intact and the channel is dry.  You see where a small channel could be shaped that would funnel water into the shaft hole leading into the cavern.  The river would have to be dammed up a little bit downstream of this to raise the water level enough though.

 You get lots of pings from down in the Fire Giants mines, it seems like there is a huge amount of adamantine down there.

"That went well, all things considered. Everyone okay? What's the plan?" Umbriel looks around at the group. 

Baeshra frowns as he turns back to the others, "It seems that the plan could work. I can carve the channel, and we could probably wreck the wheel to block up the water enough to send it down the mine. But I'm not sure if there's enough water to make much difference."

Nyx sorts out the gold and silver but turns her nose up at the meat.

"Are we still going to flood these mines or are we going down down into giant town? At some stage they should smash our little damn to release the water flow in the stream again."

 Lyngheid nodded and went over her calculations again, " I think it will work and its the only way to shut down the forges and stop them building their weapon. "

" Lets do it."

"While we are resting, someone should probably heal poor Whistler... and for that matter Droop, Ireniana and don't forget yourself Lyngheid. We have no idea when we will next run into more giants."
