You find lots of windows and blemishes and things in need of minor repair. An old half-elf man steps out of a door where you were repairing a loose hinge and gives you a gold piece. "Thank you, my dear, that is very kind of you."
What is everyone else doing?
Lyngheid tucks it into her purse resolving to drop it in the next alms box she sees, then heads over to another dock where she can look at the water and keep an eye on the others.
Droop follows you. As you approach the dock, you are greeted by the official looking man, "Well, hello there. Potential customers, perhaps? If so, you'll have to leave your weapons behind. No arms on board the ship. And you don't mind if I ask to see some proof of what you bring to gamble? There is a 50 gold minimum to board."
Umbriel's weapon is safely stowed in his extra-dimensional space, so he flashes open hands and a slightly unpracticed smile. He produces a small pouch, heavily laden with coin, and draws a gold piece from it. "This little fellow has decided to stay here, with you. His thousand-odd brothers and sisters are coming inside with me and my friend here." He drops the gold piece into the guard's palm and motions for Droop to follow.
Droop looks back and forth at Lyngheid sitting a ways away, and Umbriel heading for the ship, then runs to Lyngheid and unloads his bow, sword, staff, quiver, and knives, before running to catch up to Umbriel. "Do they have tasty meats, do you think?"
Lyngheid grinned as a memory returned, she had always been the one to hold everyones bags and shoes and weapons while her friends went off to the dancefloor to be beautiful and free. It was a comfort, a service she gladly performed....for those she loved.
Yes, loved. Even the stupid little goblin, Mother bless his heart. And the man who courted death. And the saurian, fierce and possibly not entirely over thinking of the rest of them as emergency rations. And of course the wild heart that had captured her own, she of the flashing eyes and sharp teeth.....
..Lyngheid flushed and looked down.
She reached out with the Mother of all Dwarves senses throughout the surrounds though she didn't expect to find anything.....
Umbriel and Droop enter the ship into a large cabin that has been transformed into a gambling hall. In the center is a gold-plated wooden sculpture of a goose that rests on a table at the aft end of the room. Glasses of fine wine are arrayed around it, and you notice other guests taking them and sipping. An unflattering portrait of a fat man with a grin hangs on a wall across from a wooden staircase.
Most of the floor space is taken up with tables of card games, each with a dealer sitting behind it and dealing cards to players who are making bets with coin side wooden chips. Each a replica of the Golden Goose coin that brought you here.
You notice a well-dressed, portly man heading towards you, and see that he matches the portrait. He approaches with a grin and an outstretched hand: "Welcome to my ship, the Grand Dame! Please, look around the ship, watch out for the bridge and crew quarters on the upper deck though, my crew is working there to keep us moving! We've got fine dining with even finer wine just down the hall, and excellent games of chance here!"
He looks you up and down. "I haven't seen you here before, what brings you aboard, tonight?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Umbriel looks down at Droop with a meaningful glance before answering the man. "We're emissaries, on a mission of grave importance. I can't divulge details, but my companion and I are scouting locations for a potentially very important meeting, and your ship looks like the most well-appointed establishment on the waterfront. My friend will need to ensure your fare is fit for consumption, so I'm going to let him dine on anything he likes, while I need to take a good look around the gambling area with an eye for privacy, security, and to gauge the clientele. I am Umbriel, Sensechal to House- No, I've said too much already. This is the Baron's Pantler, Droop. And you are?"
Umbriel withdraws a very large blue sapphire from a pouch, and offers it to the man.
"This is but a small token of the benefits of friendship with his Lordship. I trust I can rely on your discretion while we familiarize ourselves with your establishment?"
The man's eyes gleam with excitement and grow wider as Umbriel speaks. He deftly snatches the blue sapphire from your hand and pockets it as he introduces himself. "Lord Drylund, owner and operator of this fine establishment!"
He beckons to someone and a youngish woman, short, with her hair in a bun, dressed in a robe with a green serpent embroidered on it, comes over. "This is Pow Ming, she's my banker. Pow Ming, this is Sensechal Umbriel and Baron's Antler, Droop. See to it that they have what they need tonight, hmm?"
Pow Ming nods, reaches deep into a small bag and pulls out a pouch that she hands to you and another to Droop. She bows and says "Enjoy".
Lord Drylund nods, "Baron's Antler Droop, please partake in the games, enjoy the dining hall. Sensechal Umbriel, you as well, but first, please, come to my office and we can chat for a moment?"
Those on the dock see the Grand Dame push off from the dock and slowly rows up river.
The dock has a few people on it, still moving piles of supplies, on the ship itself, it seems like the crew is busy with getting the ship out on to the river. You can certainly try, make a stealthy athletics check! Do both Stealth and Athletics to see how you do.

What's the plan now?
As everything seems to be above board from Umbriel's perspective, he'll board the boat and start getting acclimated to the environment.

Lyngheid halted at the gangplank, perhaps it would be best if a couple of them remained outside ready to assist id things went south.....
You don't see any. Just s couple of beefy looking fellows behind the captain.
He glances your way and raised his voice " Leave your armor behind too, if you would be so kind. "
Lyngheid just shakes her head and takes a seat nearby.
He nods, respectfully. "Suit yourself"

Who else is going aboard the Grand Dame?

OCC: As the ship is rowing off, does it look like Nyx could make a leap onto the boat without anyone seeing her?
