Xarprax looks at Gunnar, his jaw slightly open. "What?" He looks at the others and back. "You mean me? What do you mean?"

 Gunnar just looks toward the hard camera, then to him (in a mildly sarcastic monotone), “It is simple. If the fog is trying to steal ivory, then naturally, you would be the safest choice because scales are the clear opposite of ivory. Surely you already consider this?”

Xarprax holds out his arms and considers his copper scales. "Opposite of ivory?" He seems to ponder this for a few seconds then then gives Gunnar a big grin. "Ah, you're pulling my tail!" The dragonborn laughs and slaps the metal man on the back.

Gunnar is actually knocked slightly off balance by that.

He rights himself however and just looms behind Xar, “Yes. Ha. Ha.” 

Verrynia drops her head into her hand and sighs, "This is going to be a long day."

The elf smiles as Khorah comes back onto the ship. "Did you deliver the note? Hope the fat bastard wasn't too harsh on ya... To answer your question.. No.. We don't have anything on our ship to dish out as bait. Considering that whaling isn't very easy and we don't fish regular little cods and mackerels we don't have anything. You know, since all of our ivory was stolen last night. I suppose you could borrow fishing rods and fish from the jetty. Or get a hold of fish another way. But the whole cool item on deck could work too, considering the fish stole the captains hat the first night." 

Khurrah nods. "Slim was no trouble. I've had some experience fishing. I would be happy to try my hand at that while you all think of any other ideas that could work."

After borrowing some tackle, Khurrah sets up shop a bit further down the dock. (Survival: 17)

Xarprax is very interested in fishing!

Khurah grabs a set of basic fishing equipment offered by the elf girl and watchman Ryefield. There is enough for all of you. Everyone who wants to participate in fishing roll a survival check. 

Within the first couple of minutes Khurah pulls a nice 10 pound cod. 

Xarprax watches Khurah until she catches her cod. The dragonborn is visibly excited. "Wow! That was great!" He begins readying his hook, carefully following the half-orc's lead. When he finally feels like everything is ready, he prepares to cast. "Look out, fish! I'm coming for you!"

Survival: 9

(Not until we're level 4, JC! I thought about turning into a dolphin to catch fish, or maybe a massive tuna to act as bait, but no dice.)

The fish totally forgot to look out. The fish being another decent sized cod, about the size of the one Khurah reeled in right before Xaprax. Yay you!

Verrynia makes her way to the rest of the group at the dock and sets up to start fishing, all the while mumbling something about not taking her hat.

"Ooh! Fishing!" Krumdak joins the group.

Gunnar stands off to the side, watching to ensure a squid doesn’t eat one of them. You know, unless it eats the Dragonborn.

Xarprax begins making hooting noises similar to a primate as he reels his line in. By the time he pulls the fish out of the water, he is hopping from foot to foot. "Look, look, look, look, look ..." he says excitedly, holding his fish up and showing it to each of the others in turn. He then uses both hands to suspend the fish in front of him so that its head is facing his snout, holding it about two inches away from his mouth. "Aren't you a big one? So big and slimy. Slimy and stinky. You stink like the sea, and the sea stink sooo gooood." He makes a few kissing noises at the fish as it struggles against his grasp. Chuckling, Xarprax pulls the hook out of the fish's mouth and then looks down at the dock. He starts to put the fish down by Khurah's, but then doesn't. He then looks at the elf's boat. He hems and haws for a couple seconds, then shrugs and chucks the fish at the boat.

Gunnar looks absurdly unsettled by this display, yet calls over, “Have you caught what we need?”
