Ambre takes a look at well, her mark glowing briefly as she looks at the amber symbols, then at the dead wasps, "Something tells me that whoever was trying succeeded," she says, feeling the amber. "If we could try to pull these up carefully I'd like to get a better look at them on board the ship."
"I... don't know..."Ambre says, tracing the symbol with her hand, "they're still warm... so unless they've been sitting in the sun for a long time... this was done recently..."
The amber doesn't cool down. It remains hot to the touch.
Perception check DC 14
A buzzing noise attracts your attention. It is getting closer and in between the trees you glimpse at a large creature that looks like a giant wasp coming toward you. Unlike the ones you killed this one is far larger and not lost at all."
Looking at Ambre and Fizzelbit investigation the amber. Perhaps we can cool it down with water. He says as he grasps his waterskin. We would be able to take it with us then.
Beowulfs head tilts as he hears the buzzing. He turns to look catching a split second view of the large creature. Somethings coming! He says loudly. Its big, prepare yourselves.
He will remove his hand from his waterskin turning around not waiting for anyones reaction. Taking his swords slowly and looking around to make sure everyone has heard him. Beowulf will try to move to cover behind a tree, still looking past the tree to keep watch of the creature.
The Warforged lays a watchful among his group's surroundings, inattentive from a recent experience of a thought invading his mind palace, his orb blue-green eyes scan the ruins for a moment, before resting his eyesight on looking around.
His ears and eyes reactively perceive the buzzing noise that comes from the wasp. He unclasps his hands from his torso, and leads to drawing the longbow from its sheathe into both of his arms, he silently mutters audibly enough his party can hear, "Detected threat. Return hostility without hesitation," the voice carries through with the soft breeze, yet a hint of a construct's true tone could be heard. He makes himself willed to move into defensible cover of his own, his eyes drifting to follow the large wasps with the longbow drawn back with an arrow nocked, ready to fire at a moment's notice.
Readied Action: Fletcher will release the nocked arrow onto the large wasp if it moves 10 feet toward them accumulatively or not.
The noise become louder and all of a sudden flying out from behind a large tree a reddish and unnatural wasp is visible. It overs for a second before attacking.
The arrows leaves Fletchers bow and strikes the insect chitinous armor and bounces harmlessly to the side. Fizzlebit lightning flies off, missing the creature by a hand and striking a tree in the back leaving a large mark of scorch wood.
Seeing the unnatural creature approach Beowulf will attempt to keep it away from the amber and the people investigating it, unsure if it would be able to act with it.
(not sure if needed yet but initiative 18)
Beowulf will move out to the open in plain view of the beast and with a sword in each hand he spreads his arms gripping them tightly letting out a shout as he unleashes his rage from within. As his shout continues in length it turns somewhat into a growl on the end as his visage reflects more a wolfcreature than a man. (Shifting: bonus hp 6+ 1)
His primary goal is to draw attention away from others and Beowulf will move closer to strike.
(if he can reach the wasp)
Beowulf will make a short sprint and when near the beast take a quick step to the right and jump up in the air using his left sword for protection if needed. He jumps as high as he can and when nearing the highest point he will have the wasp to his left (if its not flying that high) and Beowulf will use his right swordhand to jab toward the creature.
Sword Attack: 20 Damage: 8
As he lands he bends through his knees as he tries to halt his momentum and stay in place to stand somewhat behind the creature hopefully forcing it to turn its back towards the group to make it easier to strike it.
In addition he will growl at the target after (i assume) landing a hit. (if he doesnt hit i cant use this) Beowulf spends a superiority die to make it a menacing attack. (additional damage 3)
When you hit with a weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to add the total to the damage roll and target must make a WIS saving throw (DC 14). On failure, it is frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
Movement: The Warforged dives behind cover masterfully, taking little error of mistake, almost as though it comes off as instinctive.
Action: The Warforged draws back his longbow from behind cover from a tree, letting loose yet another arrow with the elven design toward the imposing large wasp.
Beowulf surges forward hitting the wasp and leaving on his side a long gash. The blood leaking smokes in the air and Beowulf can feel the heat emanating from the creature. Thom a second later flanks the insect and pierces the abdomen, lava-like blood spurts out.
The creature recoils surprise that it can be hurt and unused to this sensation.
Walben ray of frost coats a part of the insect's mid section sending it once more to the side in pain. A second later an arrow then a bolt slma into it.
Wings struggling the weakening wasp falls to the ground.
It tries to strike at Thom then at Beowulf with its sword like front legs.
