Having checked out the mantel, Lia moves to the door going North. After pausing to listen she opens it...
The door opens to a 15 foot wide circular room with a conical roof and an open window to the north, through which ivy grows. There is an empty cast iron bathtub in the middle and a rusty water pump next to it. The faucet feels warm to the touch.
"Bathtub..." Lia says to the others, not stepping into the chamber, but looking in from the door. "Doesn't look like there are any doors, other than this one..." She closes that door and moves to the next one, opening it when she reaches it.
"Lure them up here, or do we go down to assault? Either way, it will end the same..."Xarrothtalks quietly, his clawed hands flex with frost gathering on one and flashes of small flames in the other.
"Hold on you guys." Lia says with a frown at the others. "Let's check the doors we have in front of us first, so some don't come up and attack us from behind. we'll get to the orcs soon enough..."
"Oh, good point, lets make sure those don't leave us totally exposed" Rhok agrees, and slowly listens to the doors to see if he can hear anything behind them. If no sound, he'll slowly open them just enough to try to look in
You listen to both remaining doors. The one at the end of the short arm of the L shaped hall is silent. Opening it you find a large room, at least 30 by 30 feet. Iside you see a four poster bed, a fireplace with a carved mantelpiece and a desk with a chair. Rhok sees no one inside before closing the door.
The door at the other end of the hall opens to a narrow corridor that ends in a closed door 30 feet away. Open windows on both sides let light in, making it easy to see that it's empty. The orc noise sounds louder from here.
OOC: the house is build like a square surrounding an inner courtyard. You entered the second floor from the north west corner, the orc conversation noise is coming from the south east. The bedroom is on the south west corner.
OOC: on the second floor there is a staircase going down from the L shaped hall, a door leading to the south east corner from a narrow corridor, and the master bedroom that you have only glimpsed from outside.

"OK, let's see if there's anything important there. After that we can go back to Rhok's plan of luring them up here" Lothliénsays, entering the bedroom and looking for anything - interesting items, maybe a letter or diary...

Lothlién notices that the mantelpiece over the fireplace is a lot wider than needed. Tapping on it produces a hollow sound, and on closer inspection it has a lid that comes off easily. Inside you find a wooden staff decorated with bird carvings, drapped on a piece of soft fabric.
Lia searches the room as well, trying to find any hidden areas or compartments... Her familiar gives her the 'help' action.
Going carefully over each wall, Lia founds a small peg on the east wall. Turning it over a wooden panel slides sideway, revealing a small secret room. Hanging on a hook on the far wall is a handsome cloak that billows softly as the panel slides. Against the north wall sits a wooden chest with tiny clawed feet. The chest is closed with an iron lock, which seems very hard to pick.
On the north wall there is a similar peg. Turning it in the same way reveals another hidden passage that opens to a library. This room has a ten-foot-high wooden balcony forming its upper level, where you are now. A wooden spiral staircase curls down from there to the flagstone floor. Tall, empty bookcases line the walls, their shelves mostly bowed and broken. On the lower level, east of two pillars, are four old desks with chairs tucked behind them. A few moldy books are scattered about.
Rhok keeps a lookout for anyone coming upstairs while the group searches.
Rhok looks out the windows facing west, noticing that the boars still roam the garden. From the windows facing west in the hall he can still hear the orcs rambling.
"I'm not really skilled with these things..." Lothlién says. He takes the staff, examining it. "This looks nice... By the way it was kept, must be magic. I wonder what kind of magic it holds..." he thinks out loud.

"I, too, am curious. But I am content on discovering after we deal with the roaring fools below." Xarroth keeps his voice low. He tries to keep an ear out to discern if it is just orcs down there.
"I'm not skilled at picking locks, but I have in my travels acquired a thieves toolkit, I could try, but isn't the 'owner' of this place a mage? I'm sure there must be some magical locks that I'd hate to spring. I like Xarroth's idea and we get it open once we've eliminated the danger..." Rhok adds in a whispered tone
Rhok confirms that the voices from downstairs belong to orcs, by the noise they are making there are probably 6 or 7 of them.

Rhok nods in understanding, and has both hand crossbows ready, whispers "sounds like 6 or 7 orcs downstairs"

"I could go out and try to lure them up and you guys pick them off" Rhok offers in a hushed whisper
