The midwife bids you farewell, thanking you for your offer to help her tomorrow, and continues tending the potion as she watches you leave for Phandalin.
You arrive to Phandalin after an uneventful hike. In your excitement to tell Townmaster Harbin about your deeds, you forgot to stop for lunch and now feel hungry after hiking most of the day.
The town is as you left it, smoke comes out of the Stonehill Inn's chimney and people are working the fields. You approach the Townmaster's Hall and see new notices in the job board, again all of them are written by the same hand.
Orcs have attacked Butterskull Ranch, five miles east of Conyberry along the Triboar Trail! Travel there with haste, assess the damage, and help any way you can. Ranch owner Alfonse “Big Al” Kalazorn is a retired sheriff who can reward you for your efforts. If he’s dead, return to Townmaster Harbin Wester with proof of Kalazorn’s demise to receive a reward of 100 gp.
Deep in Neverwinter Wood, along the river that flows west toward Neverwinter, is a logging camp. Every two months, Phandalin delivers fresh supplies to the camp, which is run by the half-brother of Phandalin’s townmaster, Harbin Wester. Barthen, the local provisioner, has prepared a new delivery. He needs someone to bear the supplies safely to the camp. Return to Harbin Wester with a notice of delivery signed by his half-brother, Tibor Wester, to claim your reward of 100 gp.
The Mountain’s Toe Gold Mine lies fifteen miles northeast of Phandalin. The new overseer, Don-Jon Raskin, just made the trip from Neverwinter to Phandalin and needs to be escorted to the mine. There’s no telling what dangers lie between here and there. Once you deliver Raskin safe and sound, return to Townmaster Harbin Wester to collect a reward of 100 gp.
"Hmm, we should grab some food after Harbin pays us for the last set of jobs, and review our map to see if perhaps we can do something similar like our trip to Gnomengarde, and line up these jobs, after we help Lady Adabra into Phandalin" Rhok says to his companions "I'm liking the thought of these pay days"
Townmaster Harbin's house still has a locked door, knoking on it you hear his voice again "there is no one to eat in here, I'm still too thin." After introducing yourselves, his voice relaxes, but still doesn't open the door.
Hearing about your accomplishments on both the Dwarven Excavation and Umbrage Hill, he asks you to slip the notes you have under the door. After a moment, he congratulates you "well done! And you say that Adabra is coming back tomorrow? excellent news!" He slides the reward for both quests under the door, one gold coin at a time, until you have the 75 gp. in your possesion.
"Now, about the trip to Gnomegarde, were you able to acquire any magical items that may help us against the dragon?"
Harbin sounds excited about your findings, "a wizard's hat, that sure is interesting! For that one I can give you 50 gp, if you are willing to part from it."
"I guess it's Lia's decision if she'll keep the hat or sell it, taking that she's the wizard among us. Anyway, should we split the money equally?" Lothlién talks to the group.
"Lady Adabra was looking for help moving into town, would you be able to spare a horse and cart to help her with this?" Rhok adds towards Harbin
Harbin replies in a businesslike manner "no horses to spare, I'm afraid. But Barthen keeps an ox and a couple mules to carry provisions. You would have to speak to him directly about borrowing one."
"I don't see any reason to keep the hat." Lia says, but would give the others a chance to gainsay her. If no one does she would give him the hat for the gold.
"Yes, we should split the gold equally." She answers the question on that subject. She would share the gold from the sale of the hat as well.
A quiet snarl is heard from Xarroth, at the disgust at the clear display of cowardice.
He settles before talking to the group, "Splitting the gold only sounds fair. And ridding this world of orcs, only brightens these flames..." Another snarl, of malicious glee, flashes a small wave from flame from his mouth an nose...
"Agreed, we've all carried our weight in the group through these first journeys, seems only fair to split what we've earned" Rhok nods in agreement "We can check with Barthen after we eat too, I'm sure he can spare an Ox or mule and a wagon for one day as we'll be returning it. I'd like to swing by Lionshield too before heading out, I want to see if they have an item I'm looking for" he adds
OOC to DM: Rhok is looking for a hand crossbow for purchase
Hearing that you are willing to sell the Hat of Wizardry, Harbin Wester opens the door. You see a bald middle aged man, more on the round side than as starved as he wants the dragon to think. He examines the hat and pays the 50 gp with a smile on his face, as if this were one of the best deals he had closed. "A pleasure doing business with you, please remeber to come back if you finish any of the other jobs posted on the board."
You go to the Stonehill Inn for a late lunch. Toblen is says that the oven is out until nighttime, but fixes you a nutritious cold meal. Since most of his duties are done until dinner, he tells you something about the Neverwinter Woods north of Phandalin. "Falcon’s Hunting Lodge is the only safe haven in Neverwinter Wood. It lies deep in the forest along a river’s edge, and wealthy nobles venture there to hunt while under Falcon’s protection. Falcon is a retired veteran of many wars, and it’s said he’ll offer free room and board to anyone who brings him a bottle of wine." Finishing your meal, Toblen reminds you that he has rooms available for 5 sp a piece, should you need a place to rest during the night.
Feeling restored, you walk to the Lionshield Coster. Easily recognizable for the wooden shield with a blue lion painted on it hanging near the door. Sitting inside is a woman of 35 "welcome! My name is Linene Graywind. I heard about your group's passing a few days ago, I was wondering when would you come to buy something." There are a few armor stands on display by the entrance, but you notice she keeps the weapons behind the counter.
OOC: you can check the prices for armor and weapons in the basic rules.
"Hello Linene, I am Rhok, and these are my companions. We're looking for I believe a spear, bolts, a hand cross bow and ammo. These look like some nice wares you have"
I like the heavy and hand crossbows you have. Perhaps a trade of one these silver tipped bolts a pair of red gems and 5 gold plus ammo for each?
OOC: saw silvered weapons can fetch 100 gp, gems were 10 each

Lienne stretches out her hand and takes one of the gems, using a small visor to look at it closely. "This is dwarven craftmanship, I can accept them for 10 gp each." She looks at the silvered bolt "there is very little silver in these, and I don't know if I'll be able to sell them to anyone. You will need to find more coins if you want to get both crossbows." She sounds confident, but you get the sense that she is still open to negotiate.
OOC: you need to spend 100 gp to silver a weapon or 10 pieces of ammunition, silvering a single bolt would cost 10 gp.

"Perhaps we may find a cart and horse in town to help load things up? I'm sure Town master Harbin would be willing to offer such aid" Rhok muses

"Wouldn't harm to ask, maybe even purchase!" Xarroth adds to the muse.

Lothlién agrees. "And those orcs... only thing better than getting paid, is getting paid to get rid of those brutes."
He then leads the way towards Harbin's house.
"sounds good to me." Lia agrees in turn and follows after the others.

Lothlién will go with Rhok, so he can buy a new Spear, since his was chewed by some gnome machine...
Lia would accompany them, as she needs to purchase a few more crossbow bolts.
