The bearded man has Magnum grappled, but appears unsure what to do with him for a moment. Then he shouts to the others: Tear its legs off.
Round One Bearded man (already took his turn) Silent Man 4 Man 3 Man 1 Magnum Man 2
You are in a crowded place, with lots of villagers and other travellers milling around in confusion and alarm, but so far the fight appears to be between the two of you, and the bearded man and his four friends. You are all pretty close to each other, so ranged attacks are going to have disadvantage. Magnum is grappled.
Silent sighs and draws his sword as he pivots behind the bearded man. He holds the flat of the blade against the man's neck and calls out to the man's friends.
One step closer and your village idiot loses his head. First and last warning - BACK OFF.
(OOC: Silent is Readying an attack against the bearded man which will trigger if any of his friends make a hostile move. He is pulling his punch - the attack will deal non-lethal damage if it hits. Also I'm assuming I can get a flanking advantage here thanks to Magnum's positioning?)
The nearest of the bearded man's supporters draws his shortsword and charges at Silent.
Silent, go ahead and make your attack.
Man 4's attack on Silent: Attack: 8 Damage: 5
That misses comically, as he trips over a lump of grass and almost goes flying. Despite the tension and fear of most of the villagers, one small girl gives a loud laugh as the man tries to keep his balance.
(We'll wait for Silent's attack before continuing.)
In an extremely cool move, Silent flips the blade up into the air, and uses the pommel to strike the man on the top of his stupid head. He collapses to the ground, unconscious, releasing Magnum from his grasp.
The other four men look on in shock, and the fight seems to go out of them. Umm... we're just, you know, having a good time here, friend, one of them says.
The other men sheepishly grab their fallen comrade and pull him away - it looks like they're heading out of the village.
The older woman approaches Silent. Ah, well, thank you for the restraint, I guess. I'm sorry he insulted you and your... friend? Are you all right?
The watching villagers have exploded into a mess of conversation and arguments over the incident, over who you are and who the bearded man might be. However, you don't seem to have ruined the atmosphere of the fete or broken any laws that anyone cares about. The festivities get underway again.
Oh, no harm done and no apologies needed. Tried to hold back; reckon he'll wake up tomorrow with nothing worse than a bruised ego. You know the fellow?
Magnum whispers to Silent. Sir, if I may, I believe we should be extra careful when leaving town in case that fellow and his friends decide to take their vengeance upon us.
Simyon, the woman says with a frown. Simyon and his boys come through from time to time, working as mercenaries for some lord or other in Feolinn. They're often guarding the Plumgroves when the Zhelezo has more important things to do. He doesn't usually get that drunk, though. Still, he has a mean streak, and you humiliated him. Be careful, please.
They were wearing similar armour, though not quite a uniform, but in the Menagerie Coast style, and all rather old and battered. You get the sense of a not very wealthy, not very professional band of thugs for hire.
To Magnum: You're right, they're the sort of men who'll be a lot braver away from a crowd. What d'you think, should we rest here overnight? Might be we'll have the opportunity to talk things over with those fellows if we stay.
Staying here might be safer. I have the ability to increase the security of where we sleep regardless of where it is. While I don't sleep, I do require a period of stasis to recover from strenuous activity. Defending a room with limited access could prove easier. How much does a room cost?
If you ask this of a villager, they will tell you that their little tavern doesn't have any rooms, but you are welcome to stay in any of their houses for free, as part of the festival.

The leader of this group is really quick off his feet; he attempts to grab onto Magnum:
Grapple attack Athletics 21
Magnum, make a Athletics or Acrobatics check to contest this.
(Magnum has no proficiency in either so there's no point in rolling since I can't beat a 21. He just succeeds)

Silent is up.

Magnum seems slightly bored at the bearded man's response. If only he could roll his eyes.
Silent can get flanking advantage, yes.

Please remove your friend and tend to him. He will awaken in pain and shame.
Silent surveys the surrounding villagers and travelers, afraid that his actions may have turned the crowd against him. Sorry about the mess.

Silent nods. Thanks for the heads up.
