The man looks a bit more nervous at Alton's threat, but sneers at Balassar. "Maybe you should let your boss ask the questions, friend." he says. "Or do you fancy finding new employment? I reckon we pay better."
With your strong insight roll, you get the sense that he's scared, and flailing, trying anything he can think of to wriggle out of this situation, but without much skill.
Balassar just smirks looking to Alton and then back to the man as he just puts him down "Alright, we can let him ask the questions." Balassar just grabs the man's finger "But I'd answer him correctly. He's less lenient on incomplete, incorrect, or misleading answers."

Alton holds back a laugh from the thought of him as the boss. He gives Balassar a pat on the back, "It was a good try my friend. If he does give us trouble I'll let you break his fingers; just start at the fingertip and work down before moving onto the next one." Alton turns his attention back to their prisoner, "I hope we can all be civil about this and not have to resort to more violence than what was already necessary. So, first of all what is your name and then tell us the name of your boss and where you're base of operation is."
"I'm Nordo", the man replies. "The boss is Wainwright. You'll want to steer clear of him, if you've any sense. Or not. Your choice. You want to see where we hang out? Sure. No problem. I can walk you in, nice and friendly. How does that sound?"
Alton, your insight doesn't suggest he's lying, though he probably thinks you'll be killed if he takes you to their base.
"You and Wainwright with the Shadowless, Nordo? You know anything about the killing of a noble by the name of Teratt?" Celica asks, putting on her best scary face. She's not really used to interrogating people, but Righteous Brand training involved resisting interrogation, so she's doing her best to reverse-psychology that. "And I suggest you cut the tough guy act. Nobody's buying it. And if it annoys me any further, you're going to suffer for it. Balassar and I will see to that. Honestly, big guy, I say we skip the finger and go straight for smashing the hand with my hammer. Then if we run out of hands, we can move on to kneecaps. Just a thought!"
(Pretty good scary face: 18 on intimidation in the game log, not bad Cel!)
Celica, you see Nordo swallow, and nod, looking a bit less confident. "Yeah, 'Shadowless', though that's Wainwright's thing. He likes the name, that's all. Don't know anything about a noble, though."
Alton looks to Celica, "We don't want to damage him too much. You know the Xhorhas slavers won't pay full price for damaged goods." He looks back to Nordo, "Does this Wainwright fellow change his appearance fairly often? Or have a unique scar on his face?"

Alton, your words seem to drive the man into a panic. He starts struggling and scrambling to get out of the box and away. "Screw you! I'd rather die. Go on, kill me!" He is still badly wounded, but will be able to stand up and leave the crate unless physically restrained.
The spell doesn't have the effect you might have hoped; feeling the magic gathering around him, he pushes even harder, resisting the spell and, in doing so, breaking open the crate, standing up. He is ready to run.

As the man begins to standup Balassar will shift his grip of the man to grab his wrist and begins throwing him over his shoulder aiming to place his knee on the man's back if successful.
Alton crouches down to look Nordo in the face, "I'm sorry about that. This whole interrogation thing got away from me and I just got a little too into it. You've been fairly cooperative for the most part, and that is something. So, tell ya what; how about a deal, eh? We won't kill you or sell you to any slavers and you promise and keep your promise to find more honorable work. I hear there is a village close by that could use some extra hands rebuilding a house that was burnt down, or maybe someone in the city needs to hire an extra guard. You know, maybe go somewhere where nobody knows who you are, settle down, start a family, have a couple of kids. Something like that would sound a whole lot better to me then ending up in this situation again, or worse."

The man stops moving. "Ask away," he says.
Alton, please give me an Intimidation check. But any of you can ask questions if you wish.

He looks moderately intimidated. Ask your questions. :)
Balassar just grabs the collar of the man “Let’s start with simple questions. What’s your bosses name and where do you operate out of?”

Seeing Nordo panic Alton reacts with casting hold person (DC 15 WIS save). “Oops, I think I took that a bit too far.”

You grab him and manage to toss him to the ground and grapple him. He stops struggling, but doesn't speak.

As Alton talks Balassar applies more pressure to the man’s back and arm.
