Swin opens the door, revealing a tense scene of devastation. As well as the Brigand you spoke with before (Brigand 1), there are six other brigands in the room alive; a further two lie dead on the floor. Four of the brigands seem to form a guard around Brigand 1, protecting him. The other two, both badly burned, cower by the opposite wall, eyes fixed in terror on Brigand 1.
Brigand 1 carries in his hand a magical scroll. Brandishing it, he calls to Swin: "Hold where you are, or I will burn you all to cinders."
Swin, Darren, Balassar and Alton are up. If you wish to fight. You can move through each other as you enter the room without bothering about difficult terrain.
If you burn or otherwise damage a magic scroll, it can be destroyed, preventing the brigand - or anyone else - using it. Magical items are difficult to destroy, but scrolls are not.
Alton makes his way to the front using Swin to hide and whispers to the group, "If we're fighting, just say the word and I'll see if I can take out that scroll."
Balassar hears the phase Take out that scroll and smirks "Just promise you'll keep me alive friend." he says charging in as he quickly glances at the two who were attack "Join us!" he calls out as he moves to target Brigand 1 bringing his blade down on the man trying to hit the scroll as he does and slice through it.
OOC: *Don't know how this would work since he is trying to slash through the scroll as well, but I'll leave it to you DM* Movement: 30ft to get in front of brigand 1 Attack 1 on brigand 1: 20 to hit for 9 damage Attack 2 on brigand 1: 27 (natural 20) to hit for 9 damage Giant's Strength Damage: 1 End Turn
“You know I will.” Alton says as Balassar runs past. When Balassar rounds the corner, Alton pokes his head out and hurls a ball of violet flame towards the back of the brigands. Hopefully they are more focused on the large Dragonborn than him as he says casting faerie fire, “Time to burn like that poor family’s house.” Trying to get just the group of brigands and not Balassar too, and side steps out of the hallway against the wall.
Action: casts faerie fire, DC 15 Dex save or be outlined in violet flame like light. Any attack roll against an affected creature has advantage if they can be seen and the affected creature cannot benefit from invisibility. Movement: Moves to the space just above the hallway.
Darren curses his lack of a shield, his face still stinging from the fire spell earlier and charges after Balassar, positioning himself so that brigand c is between himself and Balassar. Darren slashes at the chest of the brigand (11 w/advantage 5 slashing)

(If we aren’t clearing rooms as we go. Darren is willing to follow Swin)
Are you happy with this arrangement? Swin by the door, Kef in the back?
(Works for me. We are keeping same initiative?)

Studded leather armour, of decent quality.
"Do you think damaging the scroll will keep it from working?" Alton whispers to the group.

Alton, you can make an Arcana check if you wish.

Slash! Balassar's first attack slashes through the scroll, destroying it.
Slash! The second attack cuts into the brigand, who howls in surprise, pain or outrage.
Darren, Swin and Alton are up. Alton, if you want to retcon your stealth and do something else, that's fine.

There's no way to cast Faerie Fire and miss Balassar, so Balassar, please give me a DEX save.
As for the brigands, two make their saves, but Brigands B and C are now bathed in violet flame.
Swin and Darren are up.
