Ed will cast entangle DC 13 Strength save. he will try to position it where Vicious won't be caught up in the vines. Afterwards he will yell at his friends to try and wake them from their sleep.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Str save: 10
Vicious manages to get up to the snake and lands a bite for 10 dmg
Vines spring from the ground all around the snake but it's too strong for them to grasp it. The snake rears it's head back and strikes twice at Ed in quick succession.
Bite 1 Attack: 26 Damage: 18
Bite 2 Attack: 18 Damage: 14
The noise of the struggle and Ed's shouts is enough to wake everyone.

Woken by Ed's cries for help and shouts of pain, Esmee looks around and quickly finds the monstrous snake that is attacking their campsite. She shudders in horror at the thing's size and rises to one knee, grabbing the bow she keeps by her bedroll. While she readies her weapon, she casts Hunter's Mark.
Reaching down and grabbing an arrow, she smoothly draws and lets one fly towards the beast.
Attack: 10 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
(Testing the combat dice section, hoping I did it right with the extra Hunter's mark d6)
(If Ed was within 5ft of Vicious when the snake attacked, the snake would have had disadvantage on its first attack roll against Ed. That's my bad, I forgot to mention it, I'll try to remember to put in all my artificer-y if-then statements in my next posts!)
"Ohh! Stay away from Ed!" Eikis yells, aiming her crossbow at the snake once again and firing.
Attack: 8 Damage: 6 piercing
She commands Vicious to continue to jump down and defend Ed, while continuing to rend and tear at the snake:
Vicious Force-Empowered Rend Attack: 21 Damage: 10 force
If the snake attacks anyone within 5 feet of Vicious, Vicious will use his reaction to deflect one of the attacks, giving it disadvantage on the roll.
If the snake attacks Eikis and manages to penetrate her armor class, she will use her reaction to cast shield. If the snake uses an elemental attack against Eikis, she will use her reaction to cast absorb elements instead. If the snake tries to move out of Vicious' range, Vicious will try to take an attack of opportunity against it.
(For some of the encounters I see I'll need a battle map which is fine. In regards to Ed and Vicious, Ed was casting a ranged spell and Vicious was in melee so it didn't apply but I will keep it in mind. I'm going to copy what you wrote Eikis and put it in my DM notes to help remind me :)
All of those attacks hit doing a combined damage of 26. While you can see that the snake is clearly injured it shows no sign of backing down.
Barmo awakens abruptly and thrashes and rolls trying to stand quickly. As he does make it to his feet he forgoes his trusty sling and draws his short blade, prepared to attack when he catches his breath (aka next round).
Ed disappointed that entangle didn't work will try to give his friends advantage on their attack by casting faerie fire and outline the snake in blue light if it fails a DC13 dex save.
Again both of those attacks hit, totaling 22 dmg, and now you can clearly see many bleeding wounds on the snake. It'must be close to death but is showing no sign of trying to flea. Esmee in particular finds it's behavior odd. A animal so wounded should be trying to run off. (Or slither off as the case may be:)
(Crap, sorry guys. I really thought I had responded to this)
Eikis' bolt lands true and sinks deep into the snake as it goes limp and finally DIES. It's huge body now taking up much of the camp as the rest of it's tail slides down the boulder with a thump.
Ed seeing the snake finally fall will turn to his friends and say: "I am sorry. The snake was able to sneak up on my watch and everything I tried to do failed. If it were not for you I would be dead now. Thank you."

"That was one really, really aggressive snake!" Eikis says shakily, letting out a long breath. "Down, Vicious, it's dead," she adds to the mechanical badger, who was continuing to growl at the corpse. She then casts Guidance on herself and reviews her knowledge of the arcane just to be doubly sure nothing was setting that snake against them; the whole incident with the shipwreck and the body parts has made Eikis just a little bit paranoid about being attacked.
Arcana: 18 + Guidance: 1
No matter what her findings are, she takes one final check over the corpse, sitting down and beginning to concentrate, ritually casting Detect Magic within a 10-minute timeframe. When her eyes open up again, she inspects the corpse of the snake carefully, trying to determine if it was under some sort of enchantment.
As her magical eyesight spell lasts for 10 minutes, Eikis will also use the remaining time to survey the forest, to see if anything magical out there is watching their campsite.

(Vicious wouldn't be able to grapple. The creature is 2 or more sizes larger)

Barmo snores loudly, laying on his back. His hands rub his stomach during what is no doubt a dream about food.

That brings us to the top of initiative with Esmee, Eikis, Barmo, Ed, Snake.

Nope, doing it manually. 12 + 6

Dex save: 3
The snake is able to avoid the casting and moves in to wrap it's coils around Ed. (if this attack hits you are restrained)
Attack: 21 Damage: 13
(this will now move it far enough to provoke AoO from Vicious)
