Nothing comes close to the camp throughout the night but it is plagued by odd sounds. Some you recognize, like the crying baby sound of a dying rabbit or the yips and howls of wolves. Some you don't recognize and sound more ominous. Most of the sounds are coming from the mountains to the north but also from the mountains on either side of the pass. As the sun starts to rise a light rain starts to fall accompanied by low clouds.
When we break down camp Ed will do his normal 'trick' of using the canvas of the tent and his pot to form a pool to collect water from his create/destroy water to re-fill our water skins for today.
Barmo moves slowly about the camp gathering his gear. Though probably uncomfortable to others he moves about in his pants and a thin undershirt, scratching his belly frequently.
Taking a few stones from his pouch he casts them upon the ground, casting Druidcraft to ascertain the weather for the day.
"Ugh," Eikis confesses to the others. "After last night, it kinda feels like the mountains are watching us, doesn't it? I want to get to Wayport as soon as possible!" She refills her waterskin from Ed's survival skills, taking note and asking endless questions about how to do it, before thanking him profusely. She also looks around to see if Torg stayed with them, or already left.
and they don't look good for traveling. One is grey landing right against one that starts weeping moisture. Another of the stones lands an inch away and starts blinking bright light. As it blinks out light the grey stone turns darker. One of the stones near the outside of the area they were cast in looks normal. (You read this as rain with some thunder showers later but clearing by this time tomorrow)
Torg is still there in the morning and watches the water gathering ritual with interest. After packing up his blanket he wishes everyone well and starts heading off to the mountains in the north-east. As his long strides carry him away he calls back "Remember, little ones it only takes a pebble to start an avalanche"
"Well... Wayport won't come to us," Eikis says, finishing packing her bags. When the group begins to pick their way through the pass, Eikis makes sure to cast Guidance on Vicious so that he can safeguard the group. She herself takes her time to study their surroundings as they're picking their way through, looking for things that might be useful for her tinkering.
(Eikis, remember that you're at disadvantage in natural surroundings looking for tinkering supplies.)

As everyone makes their way into the pass, with Vicious keeping a keen eye out, you are all still haunted by strange sounds coming from the mountains on both sides of the pass.
You travel for half the day. Even though there's some yips and screeches off in the distance there's nothing that gets close enough to alarm Vicious.
By mid-day the sky has darkened with thick clouds and you hear thunder rumbling accompanied by flashes of lightning in the distance. It looks like the storm is coming towards you.
Esmee tells her friends it's best if they find some cover and wait out the rest of the storm before searching for a suitable site. (rolling assuming forest terrain, wasn't sure)
EIkis finds a few good things to add to her bag and Esmee making the suggestion finds a good place to wait out the storm. There's a couple of trees that have fallen on top of a boulder on the side of the pass that have created a natural lean to. It won't keep you totally dry but, for sure, less wet.
"Well... maybe we should wait out the storm in the shelter," Eikis says to the others. "It's been smooth going so far, but I don't think I want to try climbing over rocks while they're wet and it's windy. Seems like an accident waiting to happen!"
"Yes, I am not going anywhere near some slippery rocks. I can imagine the imprint I would leave at the bottom. Prepare for this to be a wet time," Barmo stares sourfaced as he looks at the natural lean to.
With everyone in agreement to wait out the storm you try to make the impromptu lean to as comfortable as possible. With some shuffling about and clearing out some sticks it's shapes up pretty nice. There's areas where water is dripping in but once everyone is settled it's easy to keep dry. There is a fairly flat rock that could be set up as a table. (anyone have cards or a dice set?)
Lacking any sort of card or dice game to keep herself amused, Eikis begins to fiddle with the materials she's already gathered and her tinker tools, carefully preparing the skull she collected by making sure it's clean and dry, and carving out various useful holes and notches on it where her imagination tells her a strap or a lens would best fit, and how to mount it. Though she's absorbed in her work, she certainly would move aside, if someone else needed or wanted to use the table for a different purpose.

After supper Ed says: "My complements to the chef. It was delicious Barmo. We need to give Torg some too."
Ed will try first watch again and hopes it works out better this time: perception 15
Eikis would try to get some rest, while the ever-vigilant Vicious, with her magical blessing, would keep Torg company while watching.
Vicious Perception: 13 + Guidance 4 + Vigilant (can't be surprised)
Esmee will rise when woken by Ed if his watch is uneventful.

So do you folks want to continue down the pass or wait out the storm in the place Esmee found?

Ed agrees. Trying to climb slippery rocks would not be good.
