Esmee is fine to keep to herself, tucked in a dry corner with her bedroll. She pulls a well worn book from her pack and passes the time with a good story.
Barmo has never been particularly skilled at games of chance. He does however speak out loud some of his favorite recipes. (Think Bubba from Forest Gump.)
You know from Barmo's casting of the stones that the rain and storm will likely last through the night. You all do various things to keep yourself busy.
Eikis, in spending sometime working on your tinkering you find a clever way to put some of the pieces together that will save you 17 in materials. (So basically you can add that number to your current materials)
Ed, in your little lean to you don't detect any animals that are of any help. You find a millipede and a small toad but neither of them have traveled out of the immediate area or know know anything useful. The toad is bummed the millipede isn't good food, but did find a worm earlier.
As the day goes on the storm get's stronger with thunder and lighting coming closer as dusk starts to fall. There are periods of very heavy rain. Even though you've found a good shelter as the storm rages you can hear tree limbs snapping and every now and then the sound of rocks and boulders breaking free and tumbling down the mountain side. You start to understand why it's called Rolling Rock Pass and start to feel a little uneasy not being able to see the mountain right above you as muddy rain slides down the mountain side wall of your shelter.

"Vicious… I know it's bad out there, but try to go out there and have a look for us," Eikis says a little nervously. She waves her hand and summons her Unseen Servant, handing it the waxed cloth that was used to collect the rainwater. She then pulls out her rope and ties it to Vicious, then ties the rope securely around the little stone "table," as well as holding it tightly in her hands. "Don't go to far, and stay safe. Just let us know if we're in any danger from a rockslide… or worse," she instructs, tapping Vicious's head once to give the badger guidance. "Come right back and let us know what you saw!" The Unseen Servant follows Vicious out, holding the waxed cloth over the badger as a sort of makeshift umbrella, the better to give it an edge in watching their surroundings uninterrupted by the rainfall.

Esmee thinks the shelter will be OK as long as no big boulders fall on it. The two trees that make the bulk of the roof are stout, around 14"-16" diameter. With Vicious tethered securely he waddles out to take a look.

Eikis using Vicious as her eyes sees that there is a possibility of stuff falling on the shelter. It is getting harder and harder to see though with the sun going down. However there's stuff falling up and down the pass from the shelter also.
So you're in a bit of a quandary. You can stay in the shelter and hope it's strong enough to survive anything that might come down on it, or leave and hope you can see anything falling in time to avoid it.
(In regards to mold earth. That's only for the non-instantaneous effects. Moving a boulder is instantaneous. You can keep casting and moving as many rocks as you'd like.
In regards to Mending.. Sure. You find some splits in the roof logs and cracks in the supporting boulders that you're able to sure up)
Between all the efforts you get the shelter fortified to the point of feeling comfortable that it would withstand anything that might come down on it from overhead. With the fortifications the shelter is also much more dry. You could get a decent nights rest in it now.
Eikis high-fives Ed, then sits back and rubs some sweat from her brow. "Phew... I didn't realize nature could be so violent!" She spends a bit of time watching the torrential downpour from the entrance, before spreading out her bedroll and getting ready to rest for the evening. "Vicious... guard us all well tonight while we rest, please... and wake us up if you sense some danger!"
With Vicious being his dutiful self you're all able to get some sleep. At one point, somewhere around 2 am, you hear a large rock and some debris bounce off the shelter but it holds up fine.
You wake in the morning to find the rain has stopped and it looks like it will be a nice day.
Eikis peeks out of the shelter, looking around. "Wow... that was kind of an exciting night, wasn't it?" she says, turning around and beckoning to the others. "Let's try to get through the pass before any more bad weather strikes!" She pulls out her mini-stone map and shares it with Esmee, Ed, and Barmo, trying to orient herself and letting whomever has the best directional sense take the lead.
Esmee smiles at Eikis' optimism and cheer, looking over the map and putting it together with what the Giant told them of their journey. She leads the group forward after they've repacked and are ready to go.

As you travel through the rest of the pass it seems that the storm has driven most of the wildlife into hiding. You can see clear evidence of the storm as you travel. There's downed trees and some large boulders sunk into new mud. You make it through the day of travel without incident. Just as night is falling you hear the sound of water and find a spring at the end of the pass. It's a very idyllic looking spot. A crystal clear flow of water trickles down moss covered rocks to collect in a small pool. The pool itself looks shallow and is about 6' around, nestled in between a few boulders. There is a cluster of purple irises growing in one of the spaces between boulders on the right. To the left is a brier of black-caps.

If the rain slacks off before dark Ed will ritual cast speak with animals again and try to acquire more information about the route ahead.

Esmee will do her best to determine if their shelter is going to remain viable or if their is a danger she should be aware of.

I know it'a a cantrip but can mold earth help us sure up the shelter?
Can Eikis assist with mending to somehow comb through the shelter and strengthen bits of the rock where it might looked cracked or broken?
(For sure it could. There's enough loose rock around that you could find plenty of 5' or smaller rocks to move around to reinforce the roof)

It says you can have 2 effects going so, Ed will try to sure up the roof and hopes we can weather the storm.

Barmo eyes the black caps. "Ooh, those look like they might be tastey." He moves to the small Brier and inspects the mushrooms.
