(Using his experience as a Ranger, Shy leads the way and his tracking ability really shines. Everyone seems to be thoroughly impressed with Shy as he guides the party past some rough terrain, even finding some sweet berries for everyone to snack on, never losing the trail.
Everyone is moving forward at a good pace for several hours, but it's gotten dark. Those in the party without some sort of darkness vision light torches. Suddenly, Shy stops and puts his hand up.)
"... ..."
(A faint rustling noise, then some squealing is heard as a sense of danger fills the air.)
"Brace yourselves everyone!"
(Three boars, 2 regular Boar and one Giant Boar, are rushing at you all full speed. Roll for initiative!)
DM's notes: Make sure to include your Initiative modifiers (Dex Modifier) on the top of your sheet when you roll. This is the first battle and a good chance to test out any of your attacks, spells or skills you may not be too familiar with. Go nuts, as you will have a chance to rest and regain anything you use.
Sorry, I should have gone over this with you guys in case you don't know how to roll Combat.
When you hit the dice symbol some tabs will come up. There will be one that says Combat. Click on that and fill it out. Attack modifier is the 'Hit/DC' next to your weapon. In your Bows case it's +4, so type that there. I'll let you all know when you have advantage or disadvantage. Damage dice, type in the damage dice next to the weapon you're attacking with. In this case it's 1d8. And last is Damage modifier, it's the number next to your damage dice. In this case +2.
Let me know if you have questions about rolling. And feel free to use the Dice Rolling thread to practice.
Ilyandra steps to the side so she can see back the others and at the giant boar. She raises one hand and quick casts Eldritch Blast, firing a beam of crackling energy out from her fingers.
(Ilyandra's Eldritch Blast finds its mark and hits the Giant Boar, dealing some damage. The Giant Boar is tough, though. It starts charging and takes aim at Chotec!)
Attack: 21 Damage: 9
(The Giant Boar attacks fiercely, and its Tusk finds a small gap in Chotec's armor! Chotec is badly hurt!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I position myself so that my breath weapon could hit the big boar and atleast 1 of the other boars if not both once done with that i shoot my breath weapon for 3 damage. and as a bonus action i'll use my second wind to heal 8 health.

(Chotec moves to strategically try to hit all of the Boars with his Breath Weapon!)
Giant Boar Save: 16
Boars Save: 10
(All of the Boars are hit by the Dragonborn's Breath Attack, taking damage that leaves their fur sizzling! Mindful of how badly he has been hurt, Chotec uses his Second Wind ability to heal from the Giant Boar's attack, sealing up his wound instantly.)
[OOC: I DIDN'T TRY TO DO THAT! I just wanted to edit out the attack shortcode, but then it failed to parse the damage shortcode, and now I've ended up with these crumby numbers. Still figuring out how the shortcode works. Sorry]
Spry Hand looks disappointed with when his attempts to impale the boar leave mere pin pricks.
Ilyandra turns back to her new companions. “Let’s get going then,” she says, going to follow the tracks
Shy stays at the front of the group but keeps near as they follow the tracks

Shy draws his long bow and fires an arrow at the giant boar trying to hit it’s head or at least somewhere vital
Attack: 10 Damage: 4
ooc: so like this right?
Shy - Tiefling ranger
(Shy takes aim and lets loose an arrow, but the arrow misses its mark and goes sailing over the beasts.)
Ilyandra, you're up
OOC: Looks right, Shy.

Whilst the Giant Boar is focused on Chotec, I creep up to the beast with my rapier and an additional Sneak Attack.
Attack: 10 Damage: 3.5
[OOC: Is this right??]
Spry Hand - Human Rogue (Level 1)
Nope, something is wrong with the damage. No worries, we can fix it.
Next time you have to do the sneak attack dice separate. You got a 19 to hit, so we'll leave that alone. So just roll the damage.

1d8+2 => Attack: 9 Damage: 7

1d6 => Damage: 1
[OOC: Ah right, what I'd done was try to roll the d8 and d6 together - so I wrote "1d6/1d8" into the Damage Dice box]
