"Mm. Thanks, Volo." Mal'thrae says with a mouth half full. He seems a bit unenthused with the city's history (though he tries his best to appear otherwise) but takes note of the festivals (particularly Sornyn and The Grand Revel) and the location of the Temple of the Seldarine.

Volo finally walks you to the mouth of a wide alley. And this, my friends, is Trollskull Alley, where your new place is located. Come on, let's have a look.

You pass a few businesses and row houses, stopping about halfway down the street. Four stories tall and boasting balconies, a turret, and five chimneys, the abandoned building is one of the grandest in Trollskull Alley. Here it is! What do you think?

Rayner: “It does look grand! And majestic!”

"Yep, seems big."  Valen says, figuring he is suppose to say something.

Auric:

”This looks to have once been a magnificent structure, but it seems to have been abandoned and fallen into disrepair. Master Volo, perhaps you can tell us the history of this building as well as outline the outlay of funds you are including for sufficient repair to make it habitable,” says Auric, trying to put a positive spin on what looks like an old creepy haunted house.

"I'll be damned. It's beautiful." The half-drow's dark eyes light up. "Forget the history, let's look inside."

He walks up to the front door, intending to be the first one in once everyone's ready to enter.

Volo looks a little uneasily at Auric. Why, Master Auric, I couldn't possibly think to take away the joy of refurbishing this place yourself...think of the satisfaction you'll have when you're done! He scampers off to the door before Auric can reply, opening it up with a large tarnished key.

Stepping into the house, you can immediately see this wasn't just a house. It seems to be an old tavern, though the taprooms are filled with broken furniture, tarnished silverware, and detritus. The wine casks are full, but have turned to vinegar. The other rooms in the house are full of nothing but dust, cobwebs, and harmless rats. However, the original glory of the manor still shines through in places, and the structure is sturdy.

Mal'thrae seems to become more and more invested as they go through the place. Despite the dirt, splintered wood, and fixing-up, it seems perfect. Could use a little work, but he looks forward to it. 

Valen walks through with the others, more intent on making his way through the place rather than checking anything in particular out.

"Seems fine to me." He says when they have looked the entire place over.

Auric:

Leaving his retainers outside with his riding lizard, Auric moves through the building like he is investigating an enemy fortification—no telling what has moved in here while it has been abandoned.  He looks at Volo and asks again, “What is the history of this building.  How long has it been abandoned? What is it called?”

Urukar follows the others, taking in the various rooms of the building, with a cynical look on his face.  "It has all its walls, and even a roof...", he says sarcastically.  He grabs a dusty tankard, and pours himself some 'wine', before taking a drink.  The half-orc grimaces, has a look into the bottom of the tankard, and picks something out of it, before shrugging to himself and finishing the rest.

Rayner: " Well it does seem it needs a bit of work. But what should we do with it? Open a pub? Maybe we become owners of a adventure's guild? I quite like this notion of being a businessman. "

"And master Volo, can you sign this copy of your famous book? I'll make sure to make an grand display of it for our future patrons to see the grand banefactor of our new manor."

Volo grins at Urukar. Exactly! You must look at the positives! Addressing Auric, Volo shrugs his shoulders. It's been abandoned for a good long while....long enough that no one remembers its name. Or how long its even been here. I bought it when I heard it was haunted...research, you know. But I haven't found any sign of ghosts. Just think...fix it up, and you could be tavern owners! A historical place like this? And in the North Ward? They could use a decent one here!

Volo delightedly breaks out an exquisite griffin feather quill and signs his name extravagantly.

Rayner notices the griffin feather. "Those are magestic, the griffins, that is. Did you know that I used to train in the The Griffon Cavalry at the start of my career. What I would give to ride one again. Do you know any way how to procure a griffin mount in the city?"
