Determined to get the most blows from his mighty weapon, the orc moves in between Mithrokk and Alianna. He sees no disadvantage in being flanked, for he plans to kill the two surrounding him.
OOC: The orc moves to H5 then I6; since he never moved away from Mithrokk, he does NOT draw an attack of opportunity from the dwarf. He attacks Alianna (1 +6= 15) and Mithrokk (16 + 6 = 8).
He misses Mithrokk but hits the elf, doing 8 + 4 = 5 points of damage.
Rastaris feels his clothes stick to the drying blood. A new scar to go with the old he muses.
The big orc which attacked is now threatening both Alianna and Mithrokk. He is undamaged and Mithrokk's blows are bouncing off him.
And there are other orcs still included in the fray.
Rastaris never considered himself a powerful "wizard". He could not bend the elements to his will like Alianna.
But he will buy the group some time to take care of all the opponents. There is more than one way to achieve victory.
Rastaris moves to L10 and casts a spell.
He takes a deep breath and centers himself. Drawing the power from the Weave he incants: "A remembered joke, an awful pun, and humors's grip, Wail and Howl, Scream and Shout, Let only laughter escape your lips."
The orc starts laughing at the thought of killing the dwarf and elf. This prospect is incredibly enjoyable to contemplate; before realizing it, the orc falls prone, still laughing at the thought.
OOC: The orc is prone and incapacitated. Mithrokk is up!
Driven by anger and frustration, Mithrokk seeks to continue his onslaught but is surprised to see the ugly creature fall prone in an uncontrollable fit of laughter. Seeing this, Mithrokk takes the orc's greataxe away and hurls it as far as he can to the Southwest (towards R1 or S1 or even further).
"What manner of wizardry is this? Whatever it may be, good work, Rast!"
OOC: Um, the spell says the orc is prone; it didn't drop its axe, though. It's still holding onto it, even as it laughs. I'll let Mithrokk make a Strength ability check against the orc to grab it and throw it away. If you'd rather change your action, though, you can.
Alianna once again shouts the Elvish words to cast Magic Missile, but this time, she sends 2 to the orc with the short sword and the third to the orc with the javelin.
Alianna's first magical missile rips a hole into the orc holding the short sword; a perplexed expression appears on its face, followed by understanding as it sees the gaping hole in its chest. It falls dead.
The other missiles wound the orc throwing the javelin, but he remains on his feet.
OOC: This will have to be Strength versus Strength. And why do you have Advantage? That's only for attack rolls, not ability checks. You can roll again if you want to take this course of action; the orc will roll with Disadvantage.

Farnakees moves to the Orc with the Javelin (to C10) "Attacking someone with the high ground doesn't always lead to death... At least oh, 10% of the time," he thinks to himself."
Attack: 11 + 5 = 13
Damage: 2 + 3 = 11
OOC: Sorry, don't know why it says I manipulated the dice roll
The orc at the campfire seems to have an endless supply of javelins; he hurls another one at Fanakees: 1 plus 1 = 2.
OOC: Paying for my crits earlier ... which I didn't even get to enjoy ...
The javelin hits the rock formation, which is probably the only target this orc can hit.
OOC: Fumble? Orc trips, maybe?
OOC: It's feast or famine for the orcs today.

OOC: Order of initiative is Rastariss, Mithrokk, Alianna, Lathalas, and Farnakees.
OOC: Swing away, kids! My orcs are still in the fight!

Rastaris casts Tasha's Hideous Laughter on the Big Orc.
Save Wisdom 13
To the DM: Let me know the roll for the save. I may have him reroll if its high.
The orc tries to resist the spell: 10.
The orc starts laughing at the thought of killing the dwarf and elf. This prospect is incredibly enjoyable to contemplate; before realizing it, the orc falls prone, still laughing at the thought.
OOC: The orc is prone and incapacitated. Mithrokk is up!

OOC: if incapacitated, would it not drop the axe? Or at least disadvantage on checks to keep axe?
Strength check: 13 + 3 = 12
Strength check: 18 + 3 = 10
Rolling with Disadvantage
OOC: I'll give it Disadvantage. Race to the bottom then: 8 or 3 +3 =19.
Despite Mithrokk's attempt to pull away the axe, the orc holds on to it.
OOC: Orcs' basic infantry training teaches them to grip their weapons like their loved ones, it seems.
OOC: Mithrokk can still move, then Alianna is next.
Alianna once again shouts the Elvish words to cast Magic Missile, but this time, she sends 2 to the orc with the short sword and the third to the orc with the javelin.
Short sword orc: 2 + 1=3
and 1 + 1=2
Javelin orc: 1 + 1= 2
She then moves away from the laughing orc to K9.
Alianna's first magical missile rips a hole into the orc holding the short sword; a perplexed expression appears on its face, followed by understanding as it sees the gaping hole in its chest. It falls dead.
The other missiles wound the orc throwing the javelin, but he remains on his feet.
OOC: Lathalas is up!
Recognizing the danger posed by the laughing orc, Lathalas closes the distance (J7) and attempts to wrest the axe away from the incapacitated orc.
OOC: Dex vs. Str rolls, right? And Lath has advantage?
Dex: 17+3=20
Dex: 13+3=16
If successful, Lath will throw the axe as far to the southwest as possible. R1 or S1...
OOC: This will have to be Strength versus Strength. And why do you have Advantage? That's only for attack rolls, not ability checks. You can roll again if you want to take this course of action; the orc will roll with Disadvantage.
OOC: First roll then. 17+1=18.
Orc rolls: 17 or 10 + 3 = 18. A tie. In this situation, I'll rule that the orc keeps his axe. :)
OOC: Farnakees is next, then we should probably call it a night.
OOC: Suspense...
Though may I suggest we finish the battle since I may not sleep well knowing that our lives hang in the balance. :)
