"Are we ready to head out?" Fluin asks the others with a nod of greeting. He is ready to follow the others, since he does not know the path they are taking to their destination.
"Aye. Once Aluzira gets here, we can head off. I largely know the way, but the Bog's a bit treacherous. I don't expect us to have much in the way of trouble., but we should be expectin' ta spend a night or two in there. Once we get out there, the Toads'll be straightforward to manage, but not easy. Does anyone else have something else we may be forgettin'?"

Torrent would lead the way, being the most familiar with the path. If you need an active Survival roll, here you go: 17. Otherwise, my passive Survival is 15.
Torrent will lead the crowd through the safest way to directly go to where he last saw the giant toads. Torrent would know the way and how far it was, but OOC, how far is it, roughly?

Torrent, since you're leading the way, I'd like to clarify whether you're waiting for Aluzira to arrive or heading out immediately. Also, what pace will you set for the group? DIstances are difficult to judge in the bog, but it's between 3 and 5 leagues from the city to the part of the bog where the toads are known to dwell.
(How far out is Aluzira? I'd prefer to wait for her and move out once we have everyone).
Once we get started moving, I'd prefer to take a slow and careful pace. This is everyone's first foray into the Bog, and it's easy to get lost. Plus, it'd be nice to not have to worry about getting surprised.
It was sunset when Aluzira left Rowan's quarters yesterday, and now it's just past dawn. Being familiar with the journey to Steepgulch and back, Torrent, you'd expect Aluzira to be arriving about now if she was moving quickly and took the time to get a normal night's sleep, or she could arrive as late as mid-day if she took her time.
(OOC sorry Arcturos I missed your post replying about Ulben's wife)
"It's odd I don't know. You see there were always days that she wouldn't be home when I got home from work, I use to cook at an Inn, some days she would get home till late, others she wouldn't get home till the morning. But one day she just never came home. I fear she was kidnapped or taken as a slave. So I am now looking for her."
"Hey folks. I want to wait for all of us to get out here. If you wouldn't mind, could you check here every couple hours until midday? I don't want to leave without the other djinn-born who agreed to come with us. There's only a distance of a couple leagues, but I would like to make sure we had as much help as possible before taking out these critters. Any ideas opposed?"

Aluzira, thin columns of mist rise from the bog and the fallow fields in the chilly morning light as you make your way north to the city gates. Mires full of quicksand are occasionally visible on either side of the trail. Your slow pace makes you late for your meeting, but prevents you from losing the trail and getting lost in the bog. Just before noon, you arrive from the south and rejoin the rest of the group, assembled and ready. A well for travelers stands near the gate, so everyone can fill their waterskins before setting out.
While the city is well known and easy to navigate, the bog is anything but. It hasn't been mapped with any consistency, and measurements have not been taken. I'll sometimes refer to distances in terms of leagues, when they are known, which I'll define for the purpose of the game as the distance one can travel at a normal pace under the prevailing circumstances in about an hour. Torrent, even though it's already mid-day, you're confident that you'll reach your destination before nightfall.
By mid-day, the temperature has only slightly raised from the overnight chill. The region of the Bog is still in the grip of Winter. Across the steaming fields in every direction, a line of trees marks where the marsh-lands begin. The paths are narrow, so walking in single file, or at most two abreast, will be necessary. Roughly in order, I have Torrent leading the way, Rowan and Ulben following closely behind, and Fluin, Anakis, and Tarek bringing up the rear. Rowan and Tarek have said they'll keep watch for danger, and I'll assume everyone else except Torrent, who's busy navigating, does so as well unless Aluzira or anyone else has anything they'd like to do instead along the way.
"So sorry I'm late!" Aluzira says, quickly filling her water skin. "I met Mistress Elecia and traded for a health potion, and made a list of things she would need in order to make more." As they head out she will walk somewhere in the middle and keep an eye out for danger.
Shortly after entering the bog, you come across a long abandoned campsite. The remains of a fire are cold to the touch, but a banner left behind identifies the camp as belonging to the men of one Carlos the Crook, a notorious gang of bandits that has been known to waylay merchants and travelers in the bog surrounding the city. The lord's militia have long sought after them, but at the moment, the bandits are nowhere to be seen.
As you travel farther into the bog, the vegetation becomes thicker and more wild. The brownish pools of stagnant, cloudy water that give the swamp its name, bubble as they release gasses from the decay of layers of rotting vegetation trapped within them. The way is muddy and wet, and many times you must double back to find a way through the muck.
In the afternoon, your destination appears to be getting closer. In clouded pools on either side, glimpses are caught of schools of tadpoles that seem unnaturally large. Loud croaks here and there turn out to come from toads of regular size, however, and your quarry remains elusive. Eventually, in the late afternoon, you come to the place, Torrent, where you last spotted the giant toads. A sluggish and meandering stream crosses your path, forming a tight bend around a marshy piece of land that would make the closest thing to a suitable campsite that you can find. The stream widens into a murky pool to your left and another directly ahead where the bend in the stream is concealed by tall, dense sedges. It was there that you last saw the giant toads.
You're aware, however, that these toads have no permanent home and rarely stay in one place for long. As you have said, you may need to camp here for several days as you lay in wait for them. Nevertheless, Torrent, you have taken the first step towards accomplishing your goal of bringing help from the city to return equilibrium to the bog. Take a point of Inspiration.
Passing through the old bandit camp, does Anakis notice anything that she might find useful? Not sure if you want Perception (6) or Investigation (9) for that?
As camp is getting set up Ulben would ask for people for anything they had to help make a meal for everyone, or look to see if their is anything huntable. While others might be looking for something for Ulben to cook he would look for wood for a fire, once a fire is started he would start to cook.

Ulben most definitely finds a few things to trip over. He also accidently hits Rowan with his walking stick while trying to swat away a bug.
