Anakis would do a quick search so as to not get left behind, rather than a thorough search, as she doesn't know much about out here in the bog.
She would find anything like blankets, or something to keep warm, useful having grown up on the streets. But would also would pick up any knick-knacks that looked like they might be pretty or have some value, though it's unlikely there will be anything of great value.
Okay, after looking around for a moment you notice something shiny peeking out from under a tree. Upon closer examination, you find that it's a thick cloth garment embroidered with sequins, half buried in the mud.
"Eh?" Tarek asks. "This is where the giant toads are?" Looking around, he grows quite skeptical, but soon forgets it and gets to work setting up camp.
Tarek has a habit -- well, more of a religious ritual -- that his bed always faces east, to welcome the rising light of Pelor in the morning. After he sets up his tent, he will go out hunting for game or some other meat.
Torrent feels much lighter and happier now that he is back in the woods and near the water. He washes his face in the water and takes a few deep breaths, knowing that he can relax now that they are at the location. Seeing the giant tadpoles, he knows that the Toads are nearby or even likely to show up again during the night.
"Aye, this is the place I seen 'em last. We oughta relax and settle in for the night, that we can get some rest a'fore going hunting for them tomorrow. In the meantime, I kin help find food for some'a ya, iffin you need (Background feature, I can feed up to five people per day). We'll need ta set up a watch. They may come back during the night, and if they don't, then other creatures may come and visit us. We should find a good place to set up camp."

Anakis picks up the embroidered garment and holds it up to inspect it "This is pretty, isn't it Custard?". Happy with her find, she rolls it up and takes it with her to wash it and repair any damage later on.
Aluzira starts to laying out her bedroll, looking over to see Anakis carrying the garment. She looks away smiling and starts to reach for her flute, but then remembers it's gone. "Oh, right," she says to herself. After laying out her bedroll she starts looking for anything edible.
Anakis, although caked with mud, the garment is in good repair and identifiable as a woolen poncho, and when you hold it up to inspect it, you can see the words "Bella the Serpent" spelled out in gold sequins across its front.
Tarek, you must be talking about the tent you bought in the marketplace this morning (wink, wink). Don't forget to pay 2 gp for it and add it to your character sheet!
(DM question - would Anakis know who "Bella the Serpent" is for her to have a gold sequinned poncho?)
While at camp, Anakis will clean up the poncho and put it on to stay warm while in the chilly swamp. She then wanders a little way from the camp to play with the giant tadpoles and to explore what's around the camp, but keeps within 30-60ft of the camp, until everyone sets down to eat and turn in for the night.
Anakis might have heard of her. She's one of Carlos's bandits, maybe even someone important in his gang. Anakis might have heard stories about them, growing up in Steepgulch. They've been around for years.
Ulben and Rowan, wood is readily available for making fires.
Tarek, Aluzira, and anyone else that spends the remaining hour or so of daylight hunting or foraging for food (except Torrent who succeeds automatically if he makes the effort, let me know), make a DC 10 Wisdom (Survival) check.
I'll be collecting for the others as well. I'll go foraging for edible plants and set up the trapping cage to try to catch a rabbit. Maybe we can make a stew.

I don't think a check is warranted in this case. I apologize for possibly suggesting it was with my comment about the light. I really meant that as a way of explaining why there wasn't much food gathered, because it's getting late in the day. The sun has set, and the light of what was already a grey day is dimming.
You have a smallish rabbit that was caught in Torrent's trap and possibly some other small creature that Tarek was able to skewer on the end of his javelin. Combining that with whatever herbs and winter vegetables that Torrent and Aluzira were able to gather should produce a decent, if somewhat light, soup. Of course, it isn't enough to sustain the party, and everyone will have to go into their rations, but I'll let everyone know when one of their rations has been expended, because each ration is enough food for two days.
Now if a check was needed to resolve some effort of cooking you were making, it would depend on what you were doing (cooking yes, but what specifically?) and what you were trying to accomplish. So if you were, let's say, trying to win a cooking competition that relied on speed, then a Dexterity (Cook's Utensils) check might be in order, or if it relied on recalling and executing a complicated recipe passed down from your grandmother, then it could be an Intelligence (Cook's Utensils) check.
The important thing is that there has to be something at stake, and I don't think that applies here.
More to the point, you don't have to make a check for Ulben to cook.
I also wanted to add this to respond to your second question: If Ulben were to make a show of cooking, like a teppanyaki chef, in an effort to entertain or influence someone, I might call for a Charisma (Cook's Utensils) check.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Anakis returns to camp once the food is cooked and will devour her meal quickly, almost inhaling it. She then goes and sits down to watch the sun set and see what things she can see moving around the swamp as dusk sets in (Perception : 8).

Given the limited time left in the day, Torrent's efforts yield 3 pound(s) of food, and Tarek's efforts yield 0 pound(s) to contribute to the pot.
Aluzira, given that the first check you made would have succeeded if it had been labeled "Survival", you find 0 pound(s) of food.
Hopefully, Ulben is good at cooking by the light of the campfire.
(I was having some trouble programming the dice at first, but interpret 0 results as you succeeded but found a negligible amount.)
What kind of check would you like me to make for Ulben to cook? I'm thinking performance check with proficiency bounce?
