Shadow waits for agreement from the group before untying the bandits (does not give their weapons back. If someone’s objects, he’ll here them out, if not he says the following)
“Now, I sincerely hope that we do not see you again. It will not go as well the second time. Go.”
Shadow points for them to leave, and after they’re gone turns to his companions. Considering each one, he thinks for a bit, then asks,
”What should we do now? The list is getting pretty long. All I know is that you all should cover up that symbol on your armor before more people see us. And we need to really look through the cart. And, oh yeah, figure out who the hell we are! Any ideas?”
The three bandits stand up, genuinely perplexed that the most feared band of mercenaries in the area just .... let them go. They don’t stick around to question though. Rushing off in the same direction of the road that leads to the smoke plume. Ducking their heads and slightly zig zagging expecting an arrow through their chest at any moment.
Driver begins collecting the gear, walking to the side of the wagon. Call it instincts or programming, but walks to the other side. The same emblem that is on the set of each armor is burned into the side of the wagon. Pressing in the eye of the lion. A previously hidden compartment opens in on the side. Sliding out, to the surprise of everyone: it isn’t empty. Going through the items you find:
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Silas goes over to where Driver calls out from and looks to the group of items. He sees the dark blade and it catches his attention. "Oh isn't this nice." He says with a grin. He picks up the Acheron Blade and admires it closely. "I think this could be of some use" and tries it out. Stepping away from the group and practicing some basic maneuvers to judge its weight and balance. Remembering the glow of ring during the battle and the connection to the greatsword when fighting Silas will attempt to inspect his ring (Investigation or Religion check - 2)
He looks to the group "Regarding we should do next . . . I'm not entirely sure either. But it does seem that we came from the opposite way of the smoke. The bandits we just sent away went toward the smoke. I agree with our Warforged friend that we should disguise ourselves in some way if we head into a town. Since I have manipulated my form somehow, I assume the mark is no longer on me." He looks down to see if the mark is still on him (Does he see it?)
Looking down at the equipment, Shadow feels like a few of them belonged to him, namely the copper arm bracers and the head ornamentation. He put them on, but felt no difference from the magic. Probably need to attune to them. Turning towards the disguised elf, Shadow says,
”I don’t think we’ll need to disguise ourselves, more our equipment. The bandits only recognized us from the mark, so if we take care of that we should be all good right? What do you think Piper?”
Silas does see that the emblem is still on his armor.... though he gets a sense he could change that if he wanted. I mean he changed his whole appearance and race, what’s a little emblem?
Lady Piper snaps out of her little trance after staring at the items. "What was that sorry, the emblems? Yes if we cover them and lose any colors associated with the group, we should be okay. But..." she says as she touches her chin. "I think we need a cover story. I mean we are such an odd assortment what is a believable reason for us to be together."
"Didn't Driver say something about civil servants earlier?" Silas sat down feet on the ground and put his elbows on his knees, his hands together. He tapped his ring with the thumb from the opposite hand in thought. "What if we are delivering something into this town from the next town over? Something that they need, something essential like Food, Ale, maybe some kind of medical help. That would give us the ability to keep our cart and hide our recognizable belongings. Regarding hiding our colors and symbols, I think I could change that for a little while, but it would wear off." Silas looks to the group to see their reactions.
While he is waiting he will move his hands over himself and mutters some words in elvish to cast Prestidigitation to clean himself off from the battle earlier.
“That would require having those things. That particular plan requires working with what we have and or within our particular skill set. It was why I suggested we kill the dire wolves and bandits and take their corpses into town.” Driver begins settling into clothes that make him look a little more human were it not for his shiny, featureless face.
"I'll speak from back in the caravan," Lady Piper says as she climbs back up in there with her new found gear. She begins stripping down and inspects the crossbow wound she has. It doesn't appear to serious and doesn't impeed her movement to much that she puts a simple cloth wrap and then puts on her armor and cloak. While doing that she says, "Maybe we can convince them we are performers or something? I mean, i have instrements and maybe we can get buy on that and some showy actions on your ends? Or we could claim to be a newly formed band of mercenaries out to make a name for ourselves. Ya know, a lie but close enough to the truth to be believeable. Plus with our memories gone, its really not a stretch at all."
Silas chuckles a bit to himself at the thought of himself performing on stage. He looks to Driver "I think the Dire Wolves were just a made up part of the bandits story to tell as to why they were so badly wounded. There might not actually be any out in these woods. Lets just hope they keep tight lipped about it."
He then speaks a bit louder so that Piper can hear him. With a smile on his face "I'm not sure how well I would do at a preformace myself, but I do like the idea of becoming a new band of mercinaries." Silas' stomach starts to growl a bit."You dont happen to see any food in there do you Piper?
Piper begins looking for food in the wagon. She pulls up a burlap sack, but pulling it up the weight gives way as a bunch of half chewed potatoes and meats pellet the floor, as do two rats. They begin to scurry away. There is technically some dried meats and potatoes left, but the idea eat after rats is unappetizing. You don’t need your memory to know that.
Traveling down the road you eventually see a sign pointing in the same direction “Rorikstead”. The name doesn’t ring a bell, but it does settle that a town must be in this direction. The day is long as your stomachs begin to growl at being empty. How long was it that you ate, before falling asleep and losing your memory? It gets to the later evening hours as the skies turn purple and orange. You see the town sitting on a hill, a Giant plumes if smoke bellow from directly behind. But that burning smell doesn’t hang in the air. Whatever it is must be controlled or maybe not even fire.

Anything we are doing on the way or wanting to do in town?
((I think we need to make sure our sigil/colors are covered before we pull into town, and the symbol on the side of the cart as well. I assume at some point in time Silas would have felt his form start to change again and will cast disguise self as needed to keep his human form. // post edited to work the dm's ok for coverings.))
While they are driving right before they pull into town, he will cast Prestidigitation to change the symbol on the cart to a simple landscape burning. When they park and decide ro leave the cart, Silas will cast alarm on the entrace to the cart. (Mental alarm.)
Shadow has been silent since they started moving, sitting with his legs crossed, eyes closed, and seemingly relaxed throughout the whole bumpy ride. When they get to town, he looks around and decides that for the time being, he should find them a place to rest for the night while Driver investigates the smoke.
“I’m off to find us a place to sleep. Would you like to come with me Piper, Silas? Or go do your own thing?”

"I do think that will be their story and they are going to stick to it." Silas looks to Shadow, the warforged and to Lady Piper.

“Very well.”

Driver will proceed to gather the bandits’ weapons and armor, and take them back to the carriage after an inventory of them

Sliding out, to the surprise of everyone: it isn’t empty. Going through the items you find:
Glamoured studded leather
Bracers of defense
Cape of The Mountebank
Boots of elvenkind
Acheron Blade
Headband of intellect
belt of giant strength
There is no indication on who wore what before all this. The party can take some time to figure out what everyone wants.
Driver calls out to the others. “Look here,” pointing at the hidden compartment in the wagon.
He starts putting on the belt, and boots. He follows it up by sorting through equipment the bandits had, picking out odds and ends.

Piper will look about the wagon at the request for any food. Should she find some she will let him know.
(It sounds like y’all agree to head to town)

Driver will divy out 50 gold to everyone, keeping 40 gold pieces in the sack from the bandits.
He then goes to see what the smoke is coming from
