Threading through the streets of Chalice you make your way to The Lion, for some of you it is your first time for others a cheerful return.
The Lion Inn is a stylish establishment and one of the first drinking houses established in Chalice and this is where you now find yourselves.
The tap room is an eclectic mix of old and new where you receive a warm cheer from the sparse crowd as you enter. The menu contains many Chalice classics (Goat Head Soup, Stuffed Catfish and Orc Weed Stew ) together with specials boards to give variety to returning customers.
Stylishly decorated mostly with antiques and salvaged furniture, The Lion is an eclectic mix. The bar is pure Salamonian theatre with black bar top, dispensing a good selection of real ales. This bar is the main feature of the tap room, dominating its entrance and it serves a number of lagers, locally brewed ales and porters alongside a wine list.
There are only a couple of late night drinkers sitting at tables, two older human men in expensive jackets, who look up as you enter.
Boonsri is yawning and wiping down tables and as you enter she calls out towards the bar as you enter, " Gilber!"
A very happy looking gnome pokes his head up from behind the bar stepping onto the beam behind it to bring himself up to viewing height he has two small grayish primates, one sitting on either shoulder.
" Oh! The Heroes of Chalice return....well...some of them! And with new friends. Very pleased to meet you all! I am Gilber, the owner of this fine establishment and this is Daisy and Lily.", he finished indicating his simian adornments.
"Yes, we would like rooms, if you have any left." Brocc says with a tired smile. "It has been a long day, though a drink before bed would not be a bad thing either."
He liked they arrived at night, at least he did not bump into city mayhem all at once.
He raises his eyebrows, impressed to hear his new companions are addressed as heroes here
"heroes nonetheless, maybe the bard was right!"
Zeltheris laughs, "Of course I'm right. I'm always right, sometimes it just takes longer for me to be right. But yes, we'll certainly need the rooms, which of you fine heroes would like to share mine?"
"The wine sounds great." Brocc agrees. "We will take the rooms, as my companions said." He would be willing to room with any of the group, though the spider mount might make it a little tight.
Herman is getting fond of the merry bard: "I can share the bedroom with you"
While waiting for the room, he thinks he is getting annoyed by his greatsword: he belongs to his tribe relatives but is in a real bad shape, tomorrow he must get a new weapon
Zeltheris wakes a little late, but joins the others while breakfast is still being served, "Yes, absolutely! Powerful, and no doubt cursed, relics of a forgotten age, wonderful material for your epic!"
The companions file out and make their way south and onto Lion Street, a wide and bright thoroughfare in a more affluent area. On the east side of Lion Street are five shops to the south and five grand houses to the north, whilst the mansion known as Hog House occupies the whole west side of the road. The shops are a florist, a locksmith, a bookshop, a candle shop and a wool shop. And one of the houses is well known to Banzo as the place where he had the tussle with the necrotic horror.
Hog House, is known to those who have visited Chalice before as the home of Lady Francesca de la Vette, it is surrounded by a high wall, stone gargoyles fixed to the top roughly ten metres apart. What can be seen of the mansion is tall, dark and forbidding, with narrow windows. Coming to the barred iron front gate and peering through you can see the carefully maintained lawn is protected by a pack of huge mastiffs and the, mostly man-orc, gardners wear bright yellow vests as they work.
One of them spots you and walks over towards the gate, " Can I be of service gents?"
"We are here about something to do with Relics that are wanted by your mistress." Brocc says to the guard, giving him a nod of greeting. "We were hoping to learn what she is seeking and to see if we are able to aid her in any way."
"This automaton does not require any servicing," blinks Shalana as the metalman turns to the nearest party member, "Do I?" Shalana says with slight faux fear in its voice.

" Rooms?"
"Yes, we would like rooms, if you have any left." Brocc says with a tired smile. "It has been a long day, though a drink before bed would not be a bad thing either."
" Not a problem, I've got three rooms available. Two beds apiece."
" Wine? I've got a case of a nice Salamonian Merlot."
Herman takes in all he can about this new city.

Gilber looked over, " I can keep an eye on your automatons, both of em, I'll be here most of the night doing inventory and prepping for breakfast."
After having a couple glasses of wine, Brocc turns in.
The next morning the companions come down to breakfast and find an unfamiliar service attendant who introduces herself as Taksaorn.
Tea is steeped and served, pancakes are piled high on plates and congee is steaming in a large iron pot.
As the companions settle themselves they look forward to the day ahead.
"So, should we head over to check out this place looking for relics?" Brocc asks as he prepares to dig into the meal.
"Relics, how delightful," says Shalana as it sits down with the rest.

The barbarian burps, cleans himself with the sleeve and get up from the table: ready
"well, at least we won't have to talk with a lot of people, I guess"
After finishing his meal, Brocc pushes up and is ready to move out. His spider mount rises as well, walking with them towards the door.

ooc: a little backstep please
Herman wants to trade his greatsword for a glaive or a halberd.
No need to bother playing it through: @DM, just tell me how much should I pay as difference, if any
